Abstract

Constipation is a common problem and can cause serious problems. Constipation is a condition characterized by changes in the consistency of the stool to become hard, large in size, decreased in frequency or difficulty in defecation. Constipation is often characterized by symptoms of anxiety when defecation due to pain during defecation. Constipation can cause severe stress for sufferers due to discomfort. Another impact due to functional constipation is activity disturbances such as stomach cramps, decreased quality of life through decreased productivity. One of the prevention efforts is training and counseling the elderly regarding constipation. For this reason, the understanding of the elderly regarding constipation must be improved. This community service activity was carried out in the village of Lambawe. The implementation of this activity in September 2019. The target of this activity is the elderly. The method used in the implementation of this activity is the lecture and demonstration method. The results obtained in this activity are the target of understanding the material about constipation. It is suggested to the puskesmas to be able to work together in providing counseling related to education on constipation so that the elderly can understand the importance of preventing and overcoming constipation.

Abstract

Malnutrition is an imbalance between food intake and the body's needs to fulfill specific functions of the body. Intake of macronutrients is needed by toddlers in growth and development. The imbalance in the level of consumption of macronutrients against the body's needs can affect tissue and body mass which has an impact on malnutrition. Children born with LBW have a 3.34 times greater risk of experiencing poor nutritional status compared to children who are not LBW. Objective: To determine the relationship between food intake and LBW with the incidence of malnutrition in toddlers aged 1-5 years. This research is descriptive analytic with a case control design with a total sample consisting of 31 cases and 31 controls. The research variables were food intake and LBW. This research was conducted in October 2021 at the Darul Imarah Health Center. Data analysis used Chi square test with 95% confidence level. In the case group, toddlers had adequate energy intake, mostly 22 people (44.9%), adequate carbohydrate intake 23 people (51.1%), adequate protein intake 27 people (47.4%), and fat intake deficit 31 people. (56.4%). The incidence of malnutrition in the case group was mostly experienced by 17 LBW infants (53.1%). There was a relationship between fat intake and the incidence of malnutrition (p < 0.05), while the intake of energy, carbohydrates, protein and low birth weight had no relationship with the incidence of malnutrition (p > 0.05).

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is a golden period of reproductive, psychological and intelligence development. During the transition period between childhood and adulthood, biological, emotional, social and cognitive changes occur. Fulfilling nutrition during this period is important. This activity aims to educate teenagers about balanced nutrition and screen their nutritional status. Methods: This community service activity is carried out by providing education about balanced nutrition through lecture and discussion methods. While screening the nutritional status of adolescents is done through anthropometric measurements of body weight and height. The results of anthropometric measurements were then processed using the BMI formula according to age to obtain a z-score that describes the nutritional status of adolescents. This activity was carried out in dormitory of a high school with 36 young male participants. Results: Based on verbal observation and evaluation, students can receive and understand the material about balanced nutrition that is given properly. The results of the nutritional status screening showed that 31 of the adolescents in this activity (86%) had good nutrition but there were still students who had problems with thinness (3%), overweight (8%) and obesity(3%). Conclusion: It is recommended that schools and boarding schools follow up on students who are not in the good nutrition category. Students are directed to consume a balanced diet and physical activity so as to achieve the ideal body weight according to their height and age.

Abstract

Microbiological deterioration of fish is caused by microbial contamination or spoilage microbes. One technique to extend the shelf life and maintain the sensory quality of a food product is vacuum packaging. The principle of vacuum packaging is to remove all air from the package, then close it tightly so that a condition without oxygen is created in the package. The absence of oxygen can inhibit the growth of destructive microorganisms and chemical reactions, thus extending the shelf life of the packaged product. This community service activity aims to increase community knowledge, especially salted fish producers in order to extend the shelf life of salted fish. From the results of the acquisition of the average value of knowledge and attitudes of participants who took the pre-test and post-test, it was seen that there was an increase in participant knowledge by 6%, from 70,33% to 76,33%. There was an increase in the average attitude of participants by 1,34%, from 84,33 to 85,67%. Training on the use of vacuum sealers to maintain moisture content and extend the shelf life of salted fish in salted fish producers in Layeun Village, Leupung District has a positive impact on increasing knowledge and attitudes towards salted fish preservation. Abstract

Background : The causes of hyperuricemia are divided into 2, namely factors that cannot be controlled and those that can be controlled. Factors that cannot be controlled are age, sex and genetics, while factors that can be controlled are BMI and purine intake. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors that affect uric acid levels in hyperuricemia patients in the Muara Satu Health Center Work Area, Lhokseumawe City.Methods : This research is descriptive analytic usingdesign case control. This research was carried out at the Muara Satu Health Center, Lhokseumawe City in February 2021. Age, sex and genetic data were collected using a questionnaire by means of interviews. BMI was collected using weight and TB measurements and purine intake was collected using recall by means of interviews. Data were analyzed using Chi-Squarae .  Results : Most of the hyperuricemia patients were in the early elderly as many as 11 people (52.4%) and 18 women (85.7%). BMI mostly mild overweight as many as 14 people (66.7%) and have a genetic history as many as 12 people (57.1%) with purine intake mostly 18 people (85.7%).Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between genetics and purine intake with uric acid levels and there is no significant relationship between age, gender and BMI with uric acid levels in hyperuricemic patients who are outpatients at the Muara Satu Health Center, Lhokseumawe.Suggestion : It is recommended for people with hyperuricemia to pay attention to the intake of food sources of purines, in order to normalize blood uric acid levels. Key words : Age; Gender; Genetics; BMI; Purine intake

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Program Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) dirancang untuk melakukan pemantauan dan penangganan permasalahan yang terjadi dimasyarakat. Persepsi ibu terhadap program ini perlu dilakukan penilaian untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemahaman ibu terkait program ini dan cara pemantauan pertumbuhan balita dengan melihat Kartu Menjuju Sehat (KMS) dan perkembangan balita dapat dilihat dari Kartu Kembang Anak (KKA).Tujuan : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menilai persepsi ibu tentang pengaruh program Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita.Metode : Penelitian kuantitatif berdesain crossectional (potong lintang). Pengolahan data menggunakan uji chi-square. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 45 orang ibu balita, pengambilan sampel ditentukan dengan rumus Lameshow.Hasil : Terdapat hubungan antara persepsi ibu terhadap pertumbuhan dan perke mbangan balita, dilihat dari hasil statistik yang menunjukan nilai p0,05. Dimana hubungan persepsi ibu terhadap pertumbuhan p = 0,007 dan hubungan persepsi ibu terhadap perkembangan nilai p = 0,017.Kesimpulan : Persepsi ibu balita dengan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita memiliki hubungan yang saling berkaitan, sehingga persepsi yang bagus akan membuat pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita lebih baik.Kata Kunci : Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB); persepsi ibu; KKA; KMS

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a degenerative disease with symptoms arising from an increase in blood sugar (glucose) levels due to lack of the hormone insulin in the body. In overcoming the prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus, nutritional counseling is needed, one of which is using menu calendar media that contains menu pictures that are practical and easy to understand. This study aims to determine the effect of nutritional counseling using a menu calendar on carbohydrate intake and levels Methods: This research is descriptive analytic with a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest- posttest design. Sampling was carried out using the Purposive Sampling technique which obtained as many as 22 samples. The study will be conducted in August 2023. Carbohydrate intake was collected using Food Recall and blood sugar levels using Accu Check. Data analysis using Dependent T-test. The average of carbohydrate intake before nutrition counseling using calendar menu in patients Diabetes Mellitus (DM) with Type II was 180.15 grams and carbohydrate intake after 160.62 grams, which means a decrease in general carbohydrate intake of 40,8 grams. The average blood sugar level before nutritional counseling using calendar menu in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus (DM) was 158.09 mg / dL and blood sugar levels after 109.41 mg / dL, which means a decrease in blood sugar levels in general of 48.68 mg / dL. There is an influence of counseling using Calendar Menu media on carbohydrate intake and blood sugar levels in type II Diabetes Mellitus patients at RSUD dr. Fauziah Bireuen with p values of 0.000 and 0.0001 (p<0.05).

Abstract

The target community of posyandu is in accordance with the target of specific nutrition interventions for handling stunting. Posyandu is a place for pregnant, lactating mothers, infants and toddlers to get services that include maternal and child health in the form of growth and development monitoring, provision of vitamin A capsules, immunization, prevention and control of diarrhea, nutritional counseling according to their problems and family planning. Posyandu cadres are the main drivers of all activities carried out in the posyandu. One of the most basic posyandu problems is the low level of knowledge of cadres both from an academic and technical perspective, therefore to be able to provide optimal services at Posyandu, it is necessary to adjust the knowledge and skills of cadres, so that they are able to carry out Posyandu activities according to the norms, standards, procedures and criteria for developing Posyandu.In preventing stunting, the thing that must be considered is the balanced nutrition of pregnant women and nursing mothers. The purpose of this community service in general is to empower cadres to increase knowledge and skills in compiling and processing menus for pregnant women and nursing mothers as an effort to prevent stunting. The benefits of this activity are to increase the knowledge and skills of cadres in processing a balanced menu for pregnant women and nursing mothers so that cadres can provide this nutrition education widely, sustainably, and independently.Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in cadres' knowledge and skills, as evidenced by the comparison of pre-test and post-test results. A total of 85% of cadres showed a better understanding of nutrition and were able to develop a balanced menu.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Usia 0-24 bulan merupakan masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang pesat yang sering diistilahkan sebagai periode emas. Tingginya gizi kurang sangat terkait dengan praktek pemberian makanan. Pengetahuan akan menentukan perilaku seseorang. Seorang ibu yang memiliki pengetahuan tinggi akan berpikir dalam bertindak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan pengetahuan ibu dan dukungan keluarga dengan keberagam MP-ASI balita di desa Lamjruen dan Alue Rindang. Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat Deskriptif Analitik, dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross Sectional dengan sampel 32 balita. Pengambilan sampel secara total Sampling yang dilakukan pada 6-12 juli 2018. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil: balita beragam MP-ASI sebesar 54,9%, ibu-ibu berpengetahuan baik sebesar 81,3%, dukungan keluarga yang baik 53,1% keluarga mendukung pemberian ASI eksklusif dan 25,8% ibu-ibu bersikap positif terhadap ASI eksklusif. Hasil uji statistik pengetahuan ibu menunjukkan p=0,666 (p>0,05), dukungan keluarga p = 0,721 (p>0,05). Kesimpulan: tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan ibu dan dukungan keluarga dengan keberagaman MP-ASI balita usia 6-23 bulan. Saran: Disarankan bagi tenaga kesehatan untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang keberagaman MP-ASI balita.
