Abstract

Abstract Indonesia Problematic Internet Use Scale (IPIUS) consists of six dimensions, namely a preference for online social interaction, escaping, negative outcomes, compulsive internet use, cognitive preoccupation, and emotional reactivity. University students in the covid-19 pandemic are constantly learning to use the internet that causes compulsive internet use. This study explores IPIUS using analysis technique rating scale model, especially the compulsive internet use dimension which consists of ten items. The quantitative research method is survey research using an online questionnaire. Participants in the research were 395 university students who do lectures online. The sampling technique used to obtain participants was convenience sampling. The results showed nine-item compulsive internet use dimension is good quality, unidimensional, and item reliability was better than previous research using confirmatory factor analysis. IPIUS is a stable instrument to measure problematic internet use for university students in Indonesia.   Keywords: compulsive internet use; covid-19; problematic internet use; rating scale model, university students Abstrak Indonesia Problematic Internet Use Scale (IPIUS) terdiri dari enam dimensi, yaitu: preference for online social interaction, escaping, negative outcome, compulsive internet use, cognitive preoccupation, dan emotional reactivity. Mahasiswa di era pandemic covid-19 secara terus-menerus melakukan pembelajaran daring yang mengakibatkan menjadi compulsive internet use. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengekplorasi IPIUS dengan menggunakan teknik analisis rating scale model, khususnya dimensi compulsive internet use yang terdiri dari sepuluh item. Metode penelitian kuantitatif yang digunakan berjenis survey research menggunakan kuesioner online. Partisipan penelitian sebanyak 395 mahasiswa yang melakukan kuliah secara daring. Teknik sampling yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan partisipan adalah teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan sembilan item pada dimensi compulsive internet use merupakan item yang berkualitas baik, bersifat unidimensi, dan nilai reliabilitas item yang dihasilkan lebih baik dibandingkan penelitian sebelumnya yang menggunakan confirmatory factor analysis. IPIUS merupakan instrumen yang cocok mengukur problematic internet use pada mahasiswa di Indonesia.      Kata kunci: compulsive internet use; covid-19; problematic internet use; rating scale model mahasiswa

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence the occurrence of boredom of learning among Santri in a boarding school in Garut. Then, the researcher continuously tested the relationship of the factors that were assumed to be related variables including character strength, Islamic religiosity and ethnic identity which were considered to be contributive variables that determined the occurrence of boredom learning in Santri. The mixed method research was carried out using thematic content analysis to obtain comprehensive information about boredom learning that occurred in Santri through an open questionnaire. Meanwhile, the partial correlation technique is used to identify how strong the relationship between predetermined factors is. The results of the study of 60 respondents who were selected by purposive technique sampling showed that the factors that caused the students to feel bored included the limited accessibility of leaving the pesantren, not being able to gather with their families, some programs that did not work and the learning process was monotonous. Meanwhile, the factors that cause students to survive are due to the dominant strength of character for studying religious knowledge, the emergence of the notion that pesantren is a good place to develop themselves and the amount of social support from peers. Meanwhile, there is a relationship between the strength of the character being tested, namely creativity, curiosity and persistence with Islamic religiousness (r = .3, p = 1%). Other results indicate that culture becomes a partial variable that has a direct effect on Islamic religiousness and character strengths.Keywords: ethnic identity; boredom learning; character strengths; Islamic religiousness; SantriAbstrak: Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk melakukan eksplorasi terhadap faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri di salah satu pondok pesantren di Garut. Kemudian, peneliti menguji secara berkelanjutan hubungan dari faktor-faktor yang diasumsikan menjadi variabel terkait meliputi kekuatan karakter, religiusitas Islam dan identitas suku yang dianggap menjadi variabel kontributif yang menentukan terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri tersebut. Metode penelitian campuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis konten tematik untuk mendapatkan informasi komprehensif tentang situasi kejenuhan belajar yang terjadi pada santri melalui kuesioner terbuka. Sementara itu, teknik korelasi parsial digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi seberapa kuat keterkaitan dari faktor-faktor yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian dari 60 responden yang dipilih dengan purposive technique sampling menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang menyebabkan santri merasa bosan diantaranya yakni terbatasnya aksesibilitas keluar pesantren, tidak bisa berkumpul dengan keluarga, program ada yang tidak jalan dan proses pembelajaran yang monoton. Sedangkan faktor yang menyebabkan santri bisa bertahan karena adanya kekuatan karakter yang dominan untuk mempelajari ilmu agama, munculnya anggapan bahwa pesantren adalah tempat yang baik dalam mengembangkan diri serta banyaknya dukungan sosial dari teman sebaya. Sementara itu, terdapat hubungan dari kekuatan karakter yang diujikan yaitu kreativitas, keingintahuan dan ketekunan dengan religiusitas Islam (r = .3, p = 1 %). Hasil lainnya menunjukkan bahwa budaya menjadi variabel parsial yang mempunyai efek secara langsung terhadap religiusitas Islam dan kekuatan karakter.Kata Kunci: identitas etnik; kejenuhan belajar; kekuatan karakter; religiusitas Islam, Santri

Abstract

Many researchers make an error in data analysis, where researchers analyzing data using the raw score on the instrument with an ordinal scale. Error in the use of raw score for an instrument with an ordinal scale can be overcome by using measurement model testing, namely tau-equivalent and parallel. The purpose of this study is to examine the best measurement model of the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The research method is Secondary Data Analysis approach (SDA). The secondary data was combined from two previous studies. The quantitative research analysis technique used to test the three measurement models in SWLS was confirmatory factor analysis. The unidimensional model of confirmatory factor analysis indicates that tau-equivalent is the best measurement model in SWLS testing (χ2(9)=13.759, p > .05 and RMSEA < .05). Based on the result, an implication measuring instruments using raw score can be used while measurement model testing of an instrument is tau-equivalent.

Abstract

The use of syntax in education is more focused on  information technology and statistics study. So, this study aims to determine data analysis training using the syntax of one statistical software that increase the life satisfaction of social science student (one of them is a student majoring in Psychology). The training activities that are held measure life satisfaction twice, at the beginning and end of the training. The participants of the training were 86 students majoring in Psychology with ages ranged from 18 to 22 years old. The life satisfaction measurement instrument used is the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), while the statistical software used for training is Mplus. The result of the analysis found that there were differences in student life satisfaction before and after the training. Learning data analysis using syntax has a fairly effective effect on increasing life satisfaction of students majoring in Psychology in online training, students gain new knowledge and feelings in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of future career planning training on improving the future orientation of students at one of the Islamic boarding schools in Tasikmalaya. The research design used a quasi experimental study using a mixed-method design involving 25 students who were selected through quota sampling. Training is given for 5-6 hours on the same day, wherein the training program and modules were developed by the researcher. The result of this study using stacking analysis showed that 13 participants experiencing an increase in future orientation while testing with paired t-test for all participants didn’t show a significant difference in the logit value means from before and after being given training. Future career planning training that developed is quite feasible to be used regularly to see the consistency of students’ future orientation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to develop a new instrument of tawadhu that valid, unbiased, and can be used in Indonesia. The research method uses combination similarization in Islamic Psychological studies and psychological construction scale. The number of participants in this research is 613 Muslims with range 16 to 45 years old. Instrument consists of 7 items measuring intrapersonal dimension and 13 items measuring interpersonal dimension. Methods that used measuring instrument testing are Aiken validity and Multiple Groups Confirmatory Factor Analysis (MGCFA) with a multidimensional model. The results of Aiken analysis show that all items are valid measuring tawadhu. Also, MGCFA shows that Indonesian Tawadhu Scale is an unbias scale. This instrument can be used by Muslims in Indonesia as it integrates the concept of Psychology and Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to test the validity of the construct of the Indonesian version of Islamic religiosity measuring instrument called the Indonesian-Psychological Measurement of Islamic Religiousness (I-PMIR) developed by the researchers. This study used quantitative methods with 57 items I-PMIR to verify five dimensions in Islamic religiosity. Research participants were 591 Muslims in Indonesia. Based on the results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using MPlus software, it was found that there were 52 valid items measuring Islamic religiosity. This scale is suitable to be used as an appropriate instrument to explore individual religiosity in an Islamic context.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate and test the scale of religious moderation which is created to measure condition of students’ religious moderation at the higher-education level. Quantitative research method of measuring construction model is used to create a psychological scale that measures students’ religion moderation. Purposive sampling techniques were conducted in this study and compiled 470 as active respondents. The results show that the scale of religious moderation made meets the experts validation and have discrimination power that meets the prerequisites of psychometric properties. The reliability coefficient of religious moderation scale is 0.804 (highly reliable) and confirmatory factor analysis shows that the scale meets the fit model as a good measuring instrument. This study provides religious moderation scale that can be used to identify religious moderation condition especially for students.Keywords: religious moderation; religious measurement; psychometric properties; religious moderation scale; religious tolerance.

Abstract

Life satisfaction instrument among psychology related analyses has weaknesses in terms of gender bias testing, especially among adolescents. Therefore, this research aims to develop and validate a life satisfaction instrument in the Indonesian language which is new and undetected by gender bias. The modern construct-oriented scale construction method was selected as a guide in developing the instrument, and the participants were 474 adolescents from various cities in Indonesia. At the initial screening stage using the Rasch model analysis, 54 participants were detected as outliers, hence further analysis was only conducted on 420. The results show that I-ALSS fulfills the assumptions of unidimensional and local independence, with a good reliability score. Furthermore, I-ALSS correctly categorizes answer choices into 8 items, without detecting gender bias. Therefore, it is a fairly good instrument to be used in Indonesia.
