Abstract

Rice is the staple food of processed rice commonly consumed by the people of Indonesia. The content of rice consists of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and water. Carbohydrates have a role as a major energy source for humans to perform its activities. People tend to prefer to consume rice in a warm environment. Rice warmers are widely used in the community is a rice cooker. The purpose of this study is to determine the carbohydrate levels in rice heated in a rice cooker with a time variation of 0; 6; 12; 18 and 24 hours. This type of research is quantitative where the data is presented without statistics and described descriptively. This study was conducted in May 2017 using a sample of rice heated in a rice cooker with variations of time. Result: Obtained carbohydrate content from time variation 0 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours and 24 hours that is 16,87%, 14,22%, 10,26%, 9,30% and 8,97%. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the longer time the rice in the rice cooker, the lower the carbohydrate level. Abstract

One of the factors that influence drug abuse is smoking. The risk of drug abuse tends to increase in someone who has the habit of smoking and drinking alcohol. Some of the driugs are Narcotics, Psychotropic and other dangerous Addictive Materials. One of the drugs is amphetamine. Amphetamine can be white, yellow or cocoa powder, or small crystalline white powder and can also be in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (tablets). This study aims to determine the relationship between smoking behavior with the use of drug type amphetamines in the urine of hospitality students at Denpasar City University in 2019. Smoking behavior was analyzed from interviews using questionnaires and the amphetamine content of urine was tested using the rapid diagnostic test method. The number of urine samples analyzed was 27 university hospitality students in the city of Denpasar. The results showed that the Chi-Square statistical test obtained p-value of no statistical data generated due to the use of constant type of amphetamine NAPZA. This means that there is no relationship between smoking behavior with the use of drug type amphetamines in the urine of hospitality students at Denpasar City University in 2019.

Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) are intestinal nematode worms that infect humans who ingest their eggs via the faecal-oral route. Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection is transmitted through eggs and larvae found in human feces which then contaminate the soil in environmental areas that have poor sanitation. The impact caused by worms includes malnutrition, growth and development disorders and cognitive disorders in children, and in adults it can reduce work productivity. The incidence of worms is found mainly in people living in rural areas, especially farmers. STH transmission to vegetable farmers occurs through water and sludge used in vegetable cultivation. STH prevalence is supported by suitable natural conditions, personal hygiene and low environmental sanitation, especially in the vegetable farming environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and intestinal worm egg infection (Soil Transmitted Helmint) vegetable farmers in Gianyar Regency. The type of research used in this study is a descriptive correlative study with a cross sectional study approach which aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and intestinal worm infection (Soil Transmitted Helmint) in vegetable farmers in Gianyar Regency. The results showed that the personal hygiene condition of vegetable farmers in Gianyar Regency was poor (83.3%) and the incidence of worm infection in vegetable farmers in Gianyar Regency was 20%. There is no relationship between personal hygiene personal hygiene with intestinal worm egg infections (Soil Transmitted Helmint) in vegetable farmers in Gianyar Regency (p-value> 0.05).

Abstract

Pollutant metals from vehicles with leaded gasoline can accumulate in the body, attack important organs, and even damage the quality of offspring. Lead poisoning (Pb) can be experienced by workshop workers through vehicle fumes that are being repaired. Chronic lead poisoning (Pb) most often is weakness, anorexia, miscarriage, tremors, weight loss, headaches and digestive tract symptoms. Lead entering the bloodstream can cause hypertension, this is because lead can lead to increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aims to determine the relationship between the content of lead levels in blood with the occurrence of hypertension in workshop workers. Examination of blood lead levels is carried out using MPAES tools and blood pressure checks are carried out using digital tensimeter devices. The results showed that there was a correlation between blood lead levels and blood pressure in workshop workers in Gianyar Regency in 2019 with the bivariate Pearson correlation test producing sig. (2-tailed) of 0.008 <0.05 showed a correlation between variable levels of lead in blood with blood pressure (hypertension).
