Abstract

Traffic congestion is a serious problem in commercial areas such as Jl. Karanggetas, Cirebon City, which affects the effectiveness of mobility, travel time, and community productivity. This study aims to identify the causes of traffic congestion and formulate traffic management solutions based on local needs. The method used is mixed-methods, combining secondary data such as Average Daily Traffic (LHR), road geometry, and side obstacles, as well as field surveys. The analysis was conducted based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023, which is a national reference in evaluating road capacity and performance. The results showed that congestion is caused by illegal parking, loading and unloading activities during peak hours, and limited road capacity. The road level of service (LoS) is in the B and C categories, while the correlation between road user perception variables and congestion shows a weak relationship. Recommendations include the repositioning of parking zones, logistics timing, construction of angkot stops, and elimination of on-street parking to optimize traffic space capacity.

Abstract

The present study investigates the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing English language teaching materials by two English teachers at SMP IT Mantab in Sabak Auh, Siak Sri Indrapura. Using a qualitative case study method, the research highlights the teachers’ perceptions, the types of AI tools used, and their strategies for adapting AI-generated content for classroom use. The findings reveal that teachers used AI tools such as ChatGPT, QuillBot, and Canva to enhance the relevance, accuracy, and creativity of th eir instructional materials. While the tools facilitated content generation and lesson planning, challenges remained in evaluating AI-generated material and ensuring its alignment with curriculum goals. This study provides valuable insights into AI integration at the classroom level, with implications for educators, school leadership, and future research.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms through the lens of the TPACK framework. Data collection methods included analysis of lesson plans, classroom observations, and interviews with both teachers and students from two senior high schools. The findings indicate that although teachers were aware of curriculum objectives and expressed intentions to integrate ICT, its actual use was limited and inconsistent. Most applications were confined to simple PowerPoint presentations, lacking multimedia elements and interactivity. Instruction largely remained teacher-centered, with minimal student participation and limited use of collaborative or digital learning resources. Viewed through the TPACK perspective, teachers demonstrated strong content knowledge (CK) and some pedagogical knowledge (PK), but their technological knowledge (TK) was insufficient. Their integration of technology with content (TCK) and pedagogy (TPK) was shallow, and comprehensive TPACK implementation was absent. This aligns with existing literature, which often notes the difficulty educators face in effectively merging all three knowledge domains. Contributing obstacles included inadequate infrastructure, unstable internet connections, low digital confidence among teachers, and classroom management challenges when students used personal devices issues that are commonly cited in ICT integration research. Despite these challenges, both educators and learners acknowledged the potential of ICT to enhance learning by making lessons more engaging and understandable through visual and audio aids. In summary, technology use must go beyond presence it needs to be thoughtfully embedded into teaching strategies and subject content. This reinforces the core principle of TPACK: that impactful, technology-supported instruction requires a balanced integration of technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) generative telah memicu praktik manipulasi visual dalam kampanye politik digital. Persoalan etika dan regulasi muncul seiring dengan putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) terkait pelarangan penggunaan citra manipulatif berbasis AI dalam Pemilu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembingkaian berita terkait isu tersebut pada empat media online, yaitu Kompas.com, Tirto.id, Fajar.co.id, dan CNBC Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis framing kualitatif yang dipandu dengan Teori Framing Robert Entman. Hasilnya menunjukkan perbedaan empat media membingkai putusan MK. Kompas.com memilih isu tentang manipulasi foto dan gambar AI telah mengaburkan citra asli peserta Pemilu dan memengaruhi persepsi pemilih. Tirto.id berusaha menonjolkan aspek etika dan manipulasi visual yang diciptakan oleh AI yang disebutnya sebagai teknologi menyesatkan. Fajar.co.id mengungkit legalitas kampanye pasangan calon presiden dan wakil presiden Prabowo Subianto dan Gibran Rakabuming Raka yang sebelumnya menggunakan foto AI. Sementara CNBCIndonesia.com mengungkapkan perdebatan di tengah masyarakat. Secara umum empat media tersebut membingkai putusan MK sebagai langkah afirmatif terhadap integritas Pemilu, serta adanya ketidakjelasan hukum tentang "citra diri". Framing yang ditampilkan mengandung elemen kritik terhadap ketertinggalan etika dan regulasi di tengah pesatnya inovasi AI. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pembaruan kebijakan kampanye digital dan penegasan etika visual politik dalam era komunikasi berbasis AI. The development of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has triggered the practice of visual manipulation in digital political campaigns. Ethical and regulatory issues arose following the Constitutional Court's (MK) ruling prohibiting the use of AI-based manipulative images in elections. This study aims to analyze the news framing of this issue in four online media outlets: Kompas.com, Tirto.id, Fajar.co.id, and CNBC Indonesia. The method used was qualitative framing analysis guided by Robert Entman's Framing Theory. The results show differences in the four media outlets' framing of the MK ruling. Kompas.com chose the issue of AI-manipulated photos and images obscuring the true image of election participants and influencing voter perceptions. Tirto.id attempted to highlight the ethical aspects and visual manipulation created by AI, which it called misleading technology. Fajar.co.id raised the legality of the campaign of presidential and vice-presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who previously used AI-generated photos. Meanwhile, CNBCIndonesia.com revealed the debate within the community. In general, the four media outlets framed the Constitutional Court's ruling as an affirmative step toward election integrity, as well as the legal ambiguity surrounding "self-image." The framing presented contains elements of criticism of the lag in ethics and regulations amidst rapid AI innovation. This research emphasizes the importance of updating digital campaign policies and affirming political visual ethics in the era of AI-based communication.

Abstract

Program Pengembangan Kemampuan Profesi (PKP) merupakan kerangka akademik sekaligus moral yang strategis untuk menjembatani teori dan praktik dalam pendidikan tinggi. Artikel ini menelaah kontribusi PKP dalam membentuk generasi berakhlak mulia dengan menekankan integrasi nilai pendidikan Islam, teori pedagogis modern, serta praktik nyata di lapangan. Dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif, data diperoleh melalui kajian literatur, observasi pelaksanaan PKP, serta wawancara dengan dosen pembimbing, mahasiswa, dan masyarakat mitra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PKP memberikan pengalaman transformatif yang memperkuat kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, integritas, empati sosial, dan kepemimpinan pada diri mahasiswa. Meskipun terdapat tantangan berupa keterbatasan sarana, ketidakmerataan dukungan kelembagaan, serta kesiapan mahasiswa yang berbeda-beda, penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa dengan pendampingan intensif, integrasi nilai Islam, dan kolaborasi masyarakat, PKP dapat menjadi medium yang kuat dalam menyiapkan mahasiswa sebagai intelektual sekaligus agen transformasi moral di tengah masyarakat.

Abstract

This study investigates test anxiety among students at Aek Hayuara Sibuhuan Islamic Boarding School during formative assessments in English learning and explores the factors contributing to their anxiety. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research selected participants through purposive sampling. Data collection methods included closed-ended questionnaires and interviews. The findings reveal that the majority of students experience test anxiety, which manifests in two key dimensions: emotionality and worry. Furthermore, four primary factors contribute to this anxiety: fear of failing the course, psychological distress, poor study skills, and low self-esteem.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) demonstrates a community-based circular model for reducing household organic waste through the following flow: organic waste bank ? eco-enzyme ? eco-soap ? non-commercial testing education. The intervention was implemented for approximately two months in Danawinangun Village, Klangenan District (Cirebon Regency) as the pilot location; the resulting tools were packaged into a Replication Kit for Kanci Village, Astanajapura District (dissemination replication baseline). The evaluation design was descriptive pre-post, including 4–6 training sessions (production SOP, K3, and QC), production of ?4 test batches, and household use testing labeled “Test Samples Not for Sale”.  The results show an increase in partner capacity: pre–post knowledge/skills 47.8 ? 82.4/100, 87% of participants passed the practical test, and SOP/K3 compliance was 92%. Product quality performance was stable: pH 7.5–8.0 (household cleaner/dishwash variants), foam stability ?24 hours, consistent viscosity through gradual addition of NaCl following the salt curve. Usability test (n=120 samples; 80% response rate) resulted in good acceptance (74% rated ?4/5). Early impact on household behavior (n=84) showed organic waste separation +29 points, reduction in burning ?23 points, and ownership of organic waste containers +29 points. Local institutions (Team Decree, weekly meetings, Log/QC/Batch Card forms) ensured traceability and rapid learning. Findings confirm that a simple, standardized, participatory upstream approach is feasible in the short term and ready for replication through the Kanci Replication Kit, without transactional elements in the initial phase.ABSTRAKProgram Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini menunjukkan model sirkular berbasis komunitas untuk pengurangan residu organik rumah tangga melalui alur bank sampah organik ? eco-enzyme ? eko-sabun ? uji guna non-komersial edukasi. Intervensi dilaksanakan selama ±2 bulan di Desa Danawinangun, Kec. Klangenan (Kab. Cirebon) sebagai lokasi pilot; perangkat hasilnya dikemas menjadi Replication Kit bagi Desa Kanci, Kec. Astanajapura (diseminasi baseline replikasi). Desain evaluasi bersifat deskriptif pra–pasca, mencakup pelatihan 4–6 sesi (SOP produksi, K3, dan QC), produksi ?4 batch uji, serta uji guna rumah tangga berlabel “Sampel Uji Tidak untuk diperjualbelikan”. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas mitra: pre–post pengetahuan/keterampilan 47,8 ? 82,4/100, 87% peserta lulus uji praktik, dan kepatuhan SOP/K3 92%. Kinerja mutu produk stabil: pH 7,5–8,0 (varian household cleaner/dishwash), stabilitas busa ?24 jam, viskositas konsisten melalui penambahan NaCl bertahap mengikuti salt curve. Uji guna (n=120 sampel; respon 80%) menghasilkan keterterimaan baik (74% menilai ?4/5). Dampak dini perilaku rumah tangga (n=84) menunjukkan pemilahan organik +29 poin, penurunan pembakaran ?23 poin, dan kepemilikan wadah organik +29 poin. Kelembagaan lokal (SK Tim, rapat mingguan, formulir Log/ QC/ Kartu Batch) memastikan traceability dan pembelajaran cepat. Temuan menegaskan bahwa pendekatan hulu, sederhana, terstandar, dan partisipatif layak diterapkan dalam horizon singkat serta siap direplikasi melalui Replication Kit Kanci, tetap tanpa unsur transaksi pada fase awal.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe how Indonesian vocational school’s English teachers implemented formative assessment methods amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was gathered through interviews. Two English teachers from one of public vocational school in Rokan Hulu Regency, Indonesia participated in the study. The data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman three-step process, which included data condensation or reduction, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The findings revealed that vocational school’s English teachers utilized both online and offline formative assessment strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online formative assessment was implemented by using Google Classroom and Google Forms, while offline methods included quizzes, questioning and group discussions, short-answer tasks, listening cloze, role play, reading aloud, mind mapping, and dialogue writing. The teachers encountered various challenges in implementing these assessments, such as a lack of human resources, limited internet connectivity in students' homes, and some students lacking access to mobile devices. Additionally, student engagement and motivation were identified as concerns. Nevertheless, the teachers devised solutions to overcome these obstacles, including providing Wi-Fi in designated areas, encouraging students to use their parents' or friends' devices, and actively engaging with less interested students.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine whether there was a significant difference in writing ability between students taught using picture and picture media and those taught without it, within a cooperative learning model at an Islamic Senior High School in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group to ensure a robust comparison between the two teaching methods. Two groups, an experimental class and a control class, were selected using cluster random sampling from the research population. Data collection was conducted through standardized writing tests, which provided a quantitative measure of the students’ writing abilities before and after the intervention. The data was then analyzed using an independent sample t-test, a statistical method that compares the means of two independent groups to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between them. The results of the analysis indicated that the use of picture and picture media within a cooperative learning model had a positive influence on students' writing abilities, particularly in recount text. Specifically, students in the experimental class, who were taught using picture and picture media, showed a marked improvement in their writing skills compared to those in the control class, who were taught without this media. This improvement highlights the effectiveness of incorporating visual aids and cooperative learning strategies in enhancing students’ writing performance. Based on these findings, it is suggested that English teachers consider adopting picture and picture media within a cooperative learning framework when teaching writing, especially for recount texts.

Abstract

Writing Attitudes refers to the perceptions, feelings, and beliefs that students hold towards writing. Understanding students' writing attitudes is important as it can affect their engagement in writing activities and ultimately their writing performance. The aims of this study are to describe the attitudes towards learning writing and to identify the contributing factors the attitudes towards learning writing of EFL students in the English Education Department of an Islamic university in Pekanbaru. This research is qualitative research. This research was conducted from January to February 2024 at an Islamic university in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The participants were 6 students of 3rd semester students. To this extent, it was generally studied that the sampling size for this study purposively comprises one class with 30 students in total from the English Education Department, which serves as a representative group. The instruments to collect the data were close-ended questionnaire, open-ended questionnaire, and interview. The researcher used qualitative analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification to analyse the data. The result shows that there are three attitudes that were shown by the 3rd semester students at English Education Department of an Islamic University in Pekanbaru namely beliefs, emotions, and dispositions. in addition, the factors that influenced the students’ attitude were teaching method and approaches, curriculum and materials, leacturer interactions, and peer influence and collaboration factors.
