Abstract

Banking and stock market are two financial institutions which play an important role in the economic development process. Many studies suggest that the development of banking and stock market are able to increase the economic growth. There are factors which influence the development of these two financial institutions, for example macroeconomic stability and institutional influences such as corruption. This study aims to analyze how corruption affects the development of banking and stock market and also tries to identify the role of development of banking to reduce corruption. This study uses panel data for nine countries of ASEAN +3 region, during 2003-2012. The result shows that corruption hinders the development of banking and stock market. In addition, banking development will reduce corruption.

Abstract

The Indonesian palm oil industry, a global leader in production, faces increasing challenges in maintaining efficiency and quality. This study aims to apply the Lean Six Sigma methodology to enhance production processes by integrating Lean Manufacturing principles with the systematic, data-driven approach of Six Sigma. Using the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework, the research identifies and mitigates inefficiencies in key stations of a palm oil mill. Novelty lies in the application of Lean Six Sigma to the palm oil industry, demonstrating significant improvements: a 16% increase in process cycle efficiency, a reduction of 70.5 kg in daily fresh fruit bunch (FFB) losses, and a decrease in associated costs by IDR 176,750 per day. The findings underscore the potential for continuous improvement in the industry through the systematic application of Lean Six Sigma.

Abstract

Gajah District is one of the centers of food crops in Demak Regency, but not a single agricultural BUMDesa grew in Gajah District until the end of 2019. Only a few researchers have used the value chain, and value coalition approaches in mapping potential business fields and forms of collaboration between BUMDesa-based agriculture. This study aims to formulate an agriculture-based BUMDesa development strategy through a value chain and coalition approach in Gajah District, Demak Regency. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Value chain analysis is used to map alternative BUMDesa business fields. SWOT analysis with a value coalition approach is used to answer the development strategy. Selection of research locations based on Hierarchical Cluster Analysis. The suggested development of agriculture-based BUM Desa in Gajah District, Demak Regency is to follow the value coalitions process as follows: BUM Desa Kedondong focuses its business on agriculture machine rental services (rice transplanter, hand tractors, and combined harvesters), BUM Desa Mlatiharjo plays the role of superior provider seeds, BUM Desa Tambirejo as distributors of production inputs (fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural inputs), while BUM Desa Banjarsari is engaged in rice milling and warehousing.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai implementasi kegiatan Program Pejuang Muda 2021 yang di dalamnya mempunyai misi sebagai laboratorium sosial Mahasiswa dan misinya melalui program tersebut yaitu mengangkat perekonomian masyarakat miskin. Kegiatan pendampingan Mahasiswa dalam Program Pejuang Muda ini melibatkan Mentor Internal dari Kemensos dan Mentor Eksternal dari dunia Akademis yaitu Dosen, di mana pada Kelurahan Tambesi Kota Batam memiliki potensi Sumber Daya Alam berupa Ubi Kayu yang berlimpah sehingga tujuan dari Program Pejuang Muda Kota Batam berfokus pada pengolahan Ubi Kayu menjadi mocaf yang memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi.Metode pendampingan yang dilakukan Mentor dengan daring dan luring yaitu menggunakan aplikasi Zoom dan SPADA Indonesia, sedangkan untuk luring Mentor datang langsung ke Kota Batam. Kesimpulan dari pendampingan ini adalah mendapat analisis kelayakan usaha yaitu; biaya Overhead Pabrik sebesar Rp. 8.260.000, Harga Pokok Penjualan untuk 1 Kg Rp. 32.000 sedangkan ½ Kg Rp. 16.000, Harga Jual mocaf 1 Kg Rp. 35.000 dan ½ Kg Rp. 20.000, ROI sebesar 43,75% dan persentase keuntungan untuk mocaf 1 kg 9,37% dan mocaf ½ Kg 25%, Payback Period untuk usaha mocaf selama 2 tahun 3 bulan, Break Even Point untuk mocaf 1 Kg yaitu 60.28 produk mocaf dan untuk ½ Kg 105.5 produk mocaf

Abstract

Negara kepulauan selalu disematkan pada Indonesia dimana memiliki sekitar 17.504 pulau, Pulau Anambas merupakan pulau yang indah dan memiliki potensi alam yang besar, salah satunya yaitu ikan cumi, Desa Air Bini merupakan daerah produksi cumi-cumi yang relatif besar di antara Kepulauan Anambas. Pengolahan yang terbatas menjadi kendala pada pulau tersebut untuk berkembang secara ekonomi dan teknologi, melalui program kementrian yaitu Pejuang Muda sosialisasi mengenai pengadaan rumah produksi menjadi hal yang ditunggu realisasinya dari program tersebut disebabkan diharap dapat membantu dalam peningkatan ekonomi dan teknologi pengolahan. Tujuan pengabdian tersebut adalah membantu masyarakat di Air Batu Kabupaten Anambas dalam pengolahan ikan cumi dan menampung keluhan yang terjadi di daerah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu pelaksanaan kegiatan proyek, identifikasi potensi dan masalah, proses dan hasil analisis kebutuhan masyarakat. Adapun hasil dan kesimpulannya adalah pahamnya masyarakat mengenai pengolahan ikan cumi dan menjadi alternatif solusi ekonomi dan teknologi

Abstract

Tempat air hujan disimpan dalam bentuk tong, bak, atau kolam. Minyak sama pentingnya dengan air untuk kehidupan manusia. Karena mayoritas orang Indonesia menyukai makanan yang digoreng, minyak makan tetap diperlukan untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga. Minyak jelantah, minyak yang dihasilkan dari penggorengan, sering digunakan untuk menghemat, tetapi sifatnya yang karsinogenik dapat menyebabkan kanker di masa depan. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk merubah paradigma dan merubah paradigma ibu-ibu PTPN III Sei Mangke. Hasil dari kegiatan tersebut dengan jumlah 25 orang yaitu rentang usia 28-37 tahun dengan persentase 36% dan tingkat Pendidikan terbanyak SMA dengan persentase 48% dan terjadi perubahan paradigma dimana sebelumnya tidak mengetahui sampai memahami berdasarkan hasil survei angket dari kegiatan tersebut.

Abstract

The increasing number of motorized vehicles in urban areas significantly impacts air quality and public health. Gasoline engine emissions, including CO, HC, and NOx, contribute to pollution issues such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and secondary organic aerosols (SOAs). Understanding these factors is crucial for developing effective emission control strategies. This study investigates the effect of ethanol-blended gasoline on vehicular emissions, focusing on CO, HC, and NOx. The research aims to optimize fuel mixtures to reduce harmful emissions while considering environmental and health impacts. The study uses a quantitative experimental design, combining laboratory tests with field trials on 10 vehicles under controlled conditions. Results show that ethanol-blended fuels significantly reduced CO emissions, from 2.4 g/km (E0) to 1.5 g/km (E30). A moderate reduction was observed in HC emissions, from 0.55 g/km (E0) to 0.40 g/km (E30). A slight decrease in NOx emissions was noted. Ethanol's oxygen content improves combustion efficiency, reducing CO and HC emissions, but may slightly increase NOx due to combustion temperature changes. This study highlights the potential of ethanol as an environmentally friendly fuel alternative, with further research needed to address NOx-related challenges

Abstract

The availability of clean water in high-density urban areas is a pressing concern, as evidenced by the limited infrastructure and significant water wastage, which can reach 30%. This research aims to optimize the water-saving plumbing system in Brimob Sampali Flat in Medan through an integrative approach of applying modern technology and community education.This research utilizes a mixed method of qualitative (observation, interview) and quantitative (Likert scale questionnaire, digital measurement) data collection. The research process is outlined as follows: first, the existing conditions are analyzed; second, a new plumbing system is designed; third, water-saving technologies are implemented, such as gray water recycling systems and dual flush toilets; fourth, the effectiveness of the system is monitored and evaluated.The study population consisted of 30 residents of the Brimob Sampali Flat in Medan, and their pre- and post-implementation water consumption data were compared to measure the impact of the system.The results indicated that the implementation of the water-efficient plumbing system led to a 33.52% reduction in water consumption, while the integration of the gray water recycling system augmented this reduction by an additional 58.17%.The educational program was found to have enhanced residents' comprehension of water conservation, as evidenced by an average Likert score of 4.03 out of 5. Moreover, satisfaction with the novel system attained an average score of 4.1, signifying a positive response.The novelty of this study lies in the integration of water-saving technologies with an educational program designed specifically for the local Indonesian context, providing a holistic model that can be replicated in other regions to address clean water issues in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Exchange rate fluctuations and external shocks such as the trade war are predicted to put pressure on Indonesia’s trade balance. Based on VECM analysis, the exchange rate and Indonesia’s aggregate trade balance followed the J-Curve. Additionally, the trade war had impact on Rupiah depreciation and trade balance. The study also confirms eight export-oriented industries that are resilient to shocks and classified into four behaviors: (i) industries following the J-Curve; (ii) industries following the J-Curve in the long run; (iii) industriy which are not fully confirmed J-Curve, and (iv) Rest sector. The implication of this study emphasize the development of export-oriented and labor-intensive industries (Salter-Corden model). Keywords: J Curve; exchange rate; trade war; Salter Coden Model; VECM ------------------------------------------- Pergerakan nilai tukar Rupiah dan guncangan eksternal seperti perang dagang diprediksi akan memberikan tekanan terhadap neraca perdagangan. Berdasarkan analisis VECM, nilai tukar rupiah dan neraca perdagangan Indonesia secara agregat mengikuti fenomena J-Curve. Perang dagang terbukti memengaruhi depresiasi nilai tukar Rupiah dan neraca perdagangan Indonesia. Terdapat delapan industri berorientasi ekspor yang memiliki resiliensi terhadap guncangan dan diklasifikasikan menjadi empat, yakni: (i) Kelompok industri yang mengikuti fenomena J-Curve sepenuhnya; (ii) Kelompok industri dengan fenomena J-Curve pada jangka panjang; (iii) Kelompok industri yang tidak sepenuhnya mengikuti fenomena J-Curve, dan (iv) Industri lainnya. Implikasi studi ini menekankan pengembangan industri yang berorientasi ekspor dan intensif tenaga kerja (Salter-Corden model).
