Abstract

Swamps forage generally have crude fiber content and tannin content which is quite high. Unlike the case with legumes which are high in protein content but crude fiber content, and tannins that are not too high compared to swamp forages. The presence of tannin in swamp forage, has an impact on palatability, digestibility and biological value of feed. In such a situation, modification of swamp forages with tree legumes is a promising alternative source of feed for goats.         Protein in small ruminant animals is generally degraded in the rumen before reaching the abomasum, where absorption of nutrients occurs. As a result, protein digestibility will be reduced because it is damaged during the journey to the abomasum, so there needs to be modification so that protein damage to the rumen can be reduced. One way is to create a protein protector that is able to protect protein by using tannin which is quite abundant in swamp forages. In addition to functioning as a protein protector, tannin is also useful as an anthelmintic agent (anti-parasite) in goats, so that it will reduce the occurrence of worm disease in goats so that it will reduce the use of worm parasitic drugs which will have an impact on goat performance.           The specific objectives of this study were to analyze the ability of a combination of swamp forage with modified legume as a complete feed granule with different tannin content on the quality of local carcass and goat meat          Trial feeding was carried out on 12 male local goats aged 1.5-2 years, body weight 33-35 kg. At this stage a modified swamp and legume forage in the form of granules was modified as a complete feed on the performance of local meat-producing goats. Parameters measured included: Carcass quality, physical and organoleptic quality of meat.          The results showed that the application of swamp forage and indigofera legume on male goats affected the cut weight and carcass percentage. Giving a combination of swamp forage with indigofera legume with different tannin content affects the physical properties of goat meat which includes cooking losses, water holding capacity, but does not affect the tenderness of meat, and pH.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the effect of immersion on dayak onion extract and storage time and the interaction of these two factors on decreasing of egg weight, haugh unit value and albumen pH of duck egg. The study used a completely randomized design of factorial pattern 4 x 4 with 4 replications. The treatment is as follows: The first factor is the concentration of onion dayak extract (A), consisting of: A0 = Eggs storage placed at room temperature; A1 = 10% concentrated of dayak onion extract; A2 = 20% concentrated of dayak onion extract; A3 = 30% concentrated of dayak onion extract; The second factor is the length of storage (B) consists of: B0 = 7 days. B1 = 14 days. B2 = 21 days. And B3 = 28 days. Research data were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued by Tukey Test. The results showed that the concentration of dayak onion extract did not affect the reduction in egg weight, but did affect the haugh unit and albumen pH. Egg weight reduction ranged from 0.92-1.02. Haugh unit and pH of albumen at 10% and 30% concentration of dayak onion extract did not differ, while the 0% concentration differed from all other treatments. Interaction effects between concentration of dayak onion extract and length storage were also significant for egg weight loss, Haugh unit, and pH of albumen. It is recommended that for preserving duck eggs, it is better to use a concentration of 30% onion extract.

Abstract

ABSTRAKRendahnya daya tetas telur dapat diakibatkan oleh kontaminasi mikroorganisme ke dalam pori-pori telur. Bawang putih (Allium sativum L) mengandung bahan aktif antibakteri dan antijamur yang berfungsi sebagai desinfektan alami untuk sterilisasi telur tetas.  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi larutan bawang putih yang terbaik sebagai desinfektan untuk sterilisasi telur tetas itik. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari (A0) larutan bawang putih 0%, (A1)larutan bawang putih 5%, (A2) larutan bawang putih 10% dan (A3) larutan bawang putih 15%. 400 butir telur tetas itik Mojosari dibagi ke dalam 20 unit satuan percobaan, setiap unit percobaan menggunakan 20 butir telur. Hasil analisis ragam diperoleh bahwa konsentrasi larutan bawang putih sampai dengan 15% tidak berpengaruh terhadap fertilitas, daya hidup embrio, mortalitas embrio, dan daya tetas telur itik.Kata kunci: Bawang putih, daya tetas, fertilitas, Telur tetas ItikUse of Garlic (Allium Sativum L.) as a Disinfectant in the Hatching Process of Duck EggsABSTRACTThe low hatchability of eggs can be caused by the contamination of microorganisms into the egg pores. Garlic (Allium sativum L) contains antibacterial and antifungal active ingredients that function as natural disinfectants for sterilization of hatching eggs. This study aims to determine the best concentration of garlic solution as a disinfectant for sterilizing duck eggs. The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of (A0) 0% garlic solution, (A1) 5% garlic solution, (A2) 10% garlic solution and (A3) 15% garlic solution. 400 Mojosari duck eggs were divided into 20 experimental units, each experimental unit using 20 eggs. The results showed that the concentration of garlic solution up to 15% did not affect fertility, embryo viability, embryo mortality, and hatchability of duck eggs.Keywords: garlic, hatchability, fertility, hatching duck eggs

Abstract

Salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan performa dan produktivitas ternak adalah ketersediaan pakan berkualitas yang mampu memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi ternak secara efisien. Selain itu, penggunaan feed supplement dan feed additive telah terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pakan, memperbaiki performa pertumbuhan, serta menjaga kesehatan ternak. Tujuan PKM ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kelompok ternak dalam teknis pemeliharaan ternak dengan menggunakan imbuhan pakan, baik feed additive maupun feed supplemen dan meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan unit usaha ternak kambing potong. Metode Pelaksanaan Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan metode  Presentasi: Materi disampaikan oleh narasumber yang ahli di bidang nutrisi ternak. Diskusi : Peserta berpartisipasi aktif dalam sesi tanya jawab dan diskusi kelompok. Praktek Lapangan : Peserta melakukan praktik langsung dalam pemilihan dan penambahan suplemen serta imbuhan pakan ke dalam pakan ternak sedangkan kegiatan awal dilakukan FGD dengan Kelompok. Hasil kegiatan PKm menunjukkan bahwa peternak memahami manfaat imbuhan pakan, seperti enzim, probiotik, dan antioksidan, yang dapat meningkatkan daya cerna, menjaga kesehatan usus, dan meningkatkan kekebalan ternak dan mampu membuat ransum pakan yang seimbang. Disimpulkan bahwa  penggunaan imbuhan pakan  dalam pakan ternak harus terus dipahami oleh peternak Key word : enzim, feed supplement, feed additive.probiotik
