Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in fostering employment, economic growth, and community welfare. However, many MSMEs in developing regions continue to face challenges related to limited entrepreneurial education, insufficient competence, weak business strategies, and suboptimal utilization of technology. This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial competence, business strategy, and technology access on MSME success in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This research applied a quantitative explanatory survey design with a total sample of 204 MSME owners selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and Google Forms and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Findings reveal that entrepreneurship education, competence, business strategy, and technology access significantly and positively affect MSME success, both partially and simultaneously. These results highlight the importance of strengthening human capital development, strategic orientation, and digital adoption to improve MSME performance and sustainability. The study contributes to the growing literature on MSME development and provides practical insights for policymakers and business practitioners to formulate effective empowerment strategies.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived procedural ease, interest rates, and trust on the decision-making process of Bank BRI customers in Pulau Bawean when applying for credit. The research addresses gaps in prior studies by integrating these three variables simultaneously in the context of a remote island community. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from BRI customers in Bawean Island who have taken credit. The study applied descriptive analysis, validity and reliability testing, and multiple linear regression to examine the relationships among variables. Findings: The results indicate that perceived procedural ease, interest rates, and trust each have a significant effect on credit decision-making. Furthermore, these variables collectively exert a strong influence on customers’ willingness to take credit Research limitations/implications: The study is limited to BRI customers in Pulau Bawean and focuses only on three independent variables, excluding other potential factors such as promotion, service quality, or income levels. Practical implications: Findings provide insights for Bank BRI to simplify procedures, set competitive interest rates, and strengthen customer trust, thereby enhancing credit uptake in remote regions. Originality/value: This research contributes by integrating operational, economic, and psychological factors into one model, specifically within the unique context of a geographically isolated island community, which has been underexplored in prior studies. Abstract

Penujak Village, located in Central Lombok Regency, is known as the oldest pottery production center on Lombok Island. Supported by skilled and experienced artisans, Penujak pottery is recognized for its high artistic value and serves as a symbol of local cultural identity. However, the production process still relies on manual techniques that are time-consuming, resulting in low productivity, inconsistent shapes, and unstable quality. Therefore, a sustainable development strategy is required. The purpose of this program is to introduce innovations through the use of the Automatic Pottery Wheel and Electric Spray Gun to improve the efficiency, quality, and production consistency without diminishing the artistic and traditional values of Penujak pottery. The activities were carried out through socialization and training sessions aimed at local artisans in Penujak Village. The implementation process consisted of three main stage: socialization, demonstration, and mentoring. The results of the program showed that the introduction of the Automatic Pottery Wheel and Electric Spray Gun had a significant impact on improving the efficiency and quality of pottery production. The time required to produce simple pottery items such as plates, which previously took around ten minutes manually, was reduced to only five minutes using the automatic tool, while maintaining better shape consistency. The Electric Spray Gun also produced more even coloring without covering the distinctive traditional motifs of Penujak pottery. Furthermore, this program successfully increased artisans’ motivation to continue innovating, enhanced product competitiveness, and fostered the growth of the local creative economy in Penujak Village. Thus, the program has successfully achieved its objectives. The Automatic Pottery Wheel proved effective in saving time through stable rotation that accelerates the shaping process, while the Electric Spray Gun produced smoother and more uniform coloring compared to manual methods.
