Abstract

Unstable inflation is influenced by economic conditions. Macroeconomic conditions in Indonesia make inflation increase or decrease. The policies taken by the government and the central bank determine the size of inflation. Community consumption patterns also play a role in increasing inflation. The purpose of this study is to determine the most effective policy in overcoming inflation, using the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model to estimate the research variables. Impulse response function and variance decomposition that describes how and how the influence of inflation fluctuations. VAR estimates show significant inflation influenced by the money supply and SBI interest rate in the first lag. Meanwhile, taxes and government spending are significant in the second lag. Impulse response analysis shows that inflation response is fastest and strongest by the money supply. While the description of variance decomposition, the variations described inflation most affect the change of inflation itself and second order is the money supply.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impacts and causal relationship between inbound tourism activities and macroeconomic variables on environmental degradation and  to analyze the environmental degradation response due to shocks that occur in inbound tourism activities and macroeconomic variables in four countries with the highest international tourist visits in the ASEAN region of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand known as ASEAN-4 for Periode 1995-2015. The method used in the research is panel vector error correction model (PVECM). The results showed that inbound tourism activities positively influence in the long-term and short-term  environmental degradation in ASEAN-4. Among  macroeconomic variables only gross domestic product (GDP) positively affects environmental degradation in the long term and short term whereas energy consumption only affects environmental degradation in the short term. There is a direct causal relationship of inbound  tourism activity with environmental degradation and environmental degradation with GDP. Energy consumption and environmental degradation manifest  bidirectional causality with a feedback effect. Impulse response function indicates environmental degradation responds negatively to the shocks that occur in Inbound tourism and GDP activities. The positive response is indicated by environmental degradation in case of shock to energy consumption.

This study tested foreign language skills, especially in English, communication skills and education of more than 120 employees from 17 Islamic hotels in Indonesia with the random sampling method of selecting samples which were tested through the English language proficiency test using the experience test method which was carried out in a period of years. Month 1 of 2015 to month 1 of 2020. Test results are measured on a Likert scale. They are aggregated and compared with hotel performance collected from more than 150 annual reports from all sharia hotels in Indonesia listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, magazines, scientific articles, and books for 2015 to 2020. Use content analysis using the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) method. Providing insights about ESP aims to improve hotel employees' performance to facilitate communication in serving foreign guests. In researching this data, we triangulated the results of the analysis content carried out. We used the quantitative method Vector Error Correction Model to triangulate the qualitative conclusions that we used by analyzing the estimated results of employee responses in communication skills and effective survival in generating profits in the sharia hotel business listed in Indonesia stock exchange with a note that it can improve the financial performance of Islamic hotels from 2015 to 2019. Abstract

This study aims to determine and compare the financial stability of banks during the crisis which is still being debated by taking the period before and after the covid 19 pandemics. This study uses a sample of all transactions of conventional banks and Islamic banks throughout Indonesia that are recorded by the Indonesian financial services authority. With a population of all conventional financial institutions and Islamic financial institutions, both registered and unregistered by Indonesian financial services authorities throughout Indonesia. The type of data in this study is secondary data sourced from the Indonesian financial services authority. To find out and compare the performance of conventional banks with Islamic banks and the resilience of conventional banks and Islamic banks to shocks, an analysis of the financial behavior of data in commercial banks was carried out using Threshold Autoregressive. We find that Islamic banks tend to be more stable in facing financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic compared to conventional banks. The performance of conventional banks was very good in the period before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, when the coronavirus pandemic began to be reported, there was a huge decline in performance. Conventional bank recovery efforts have not been able to return to the original track. Conventional bank performance is slowing down and it tends to be difficult to return to its original performance value (before the COVID-19 outbreak). However, from the graph of performance forecasting between Islamic Commercial Banks and Conventional Banks, it can be seen that there is a difference in performance stability between Islamic Commercial Banks and Conventional Banks facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Household waste is an environmental problem for the community, especially urban areas, which until now has no solution. The limited number of landfills in Jember Regency makes this waste problem even more complex. Waste Bank seems to be a promising alternative to waste management strategy. Community service activities by establishing a waste bank as the main program in partnership with Housewives of RW 20 Kelurahan Jember Kidul where there are around 58 households. Several problems are faced by partners, such as a lack of knowledge regarding the negative impacts of waste and not knowing anything about waste banks, how they work, and generating income just by sorting and depositing them in the waste bank. The method used in community service is Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) by guiding the housewives of the RW 20 Kelurahan Jember Kidul to be actively involved in waste management training. The target to be achieved from this activity is that the people of RW 20 Kelurahan Jember Kidul are educated to sort waste and deposit waste into the Waste Bank to create a clean and healthy environment and increase the income of households. The district government is expected to be actively involved so that the program can run sustainably
