Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) contains 1-4% volatile oil and oleoresin. Essential oil helps the digestive enzymes to digest feed that increase passage rate of digest this increase feed intake. The increase in feed consumption leads to enhance growth and meet production. A study was conducted in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, University Tadulako Palu, from May 9th to August 8th, 2012. A total of 60 village chickens (two weeks old) was obtained from CV. Black Horse Perkasa, Kediri, and placed in 20 cage, cage size was 60 x 60 x 85 cm each cage was equipped with drinking and feed container. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments tested were as follows: R0 = no added flour ginger in the ration, R1 = 99.5% with 0.5% added ginger powder, R2 = 99% supplemented with 1% ginger powder, and R3 = 98.5% added with 1.5% ginger powder. The results of the analysis indicate that the use of a variety of ginger powder in the ration produced a significant influence (P <0.01) on ration consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The conclusion of this study that the addition of ginger powder in chicken rations provide a very real effect on ration consumption, body weight gain and conversion ratio. R1 treatment (0.5% ginger powder in the ration) is the best treatment, because it can increase body weight gain, reduce consumption and conversion ratio. Abstract

Turkey is a type of poultry from the order Galliformes, the genus Meleaagriss which is starting to get public attention for cultivation. The cultivation of turkey in Indonesia is still lacking, most of the breeders prefer other types of poultry. Turkey is a type of poultry that has the potential to be developed as a meat animal, because it has a large body size and is able to utilize feed ingredients in the form of grains and forage. This study aims to determine the growth of male turkeys aged 19-25 weeks at different energy levels. The research was carried out in the experimental cage of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries in South Sibalaya Village, Tanambulava District, Sigi Regency, on June 24 - July 29 2018. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments are R1 = Rations with Metabolic Energy of 2800 Kcal/Kg, R2 = Rations with Metabolic Energy of 2900 Kcal/Kg, R3 = Rations with Metabolic Energy of 3000 Kcal/kg. The variables observed were rations consumption, body weight gain and rations conversion. The results showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P <0.05) on rations consumption, had no significant effect (P> 0.05) to increase of body weight and rations conversion. Using energy levels of 3000 Kcal/Kg gives a positive result on rations consumption for male turkeys aged 19-25 weeks.

Abstract

Kandungan eugenol yang cukup besar dalam minyak atsiri daun cengkeh dapat berperan sebagai antimikroba, antioksidan sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai zat bioaktif pengganti antibiotik sintetik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kadar eugenol dalam pakan terhadap nilai kecernaan nutrien ransum pada ayam pedaging. Eugenol yang digunakan diekstraksi dari bahan daun cengkeh yang diperoleh dari kebun petani di Sulawesi Tengah. Pengujian kecernaan nutrisi pakan dilakukan di Kandang percobaan Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan Universitas Tadulako. Analisa kandungan bahan kering, protein kasar dan gross energi ransum dan ekskreta dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia Makanan Ternak Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar. Percobaan studi kecernaan nutrisi pakan dilakukan dengan menggunakan 25 ekor ayam pedaging (broiler) umur 6 minggu dengan bobot badan berkisar 1,97 ± 0,092 kg. Pada percobaan ini ditambahkan eugenol pada ransum basal dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu: E0 = ransum basal + 0% eugenol; E1 = ransum basal + 0,5% eugenol; E2 = ransum basal + 1% eugenol; E3 = ransum basal + 1,5% eugenol; E4 = ransum basal + 2% eugenol. Variabel yang diamati adalah nilai kecernaan protein, bahan kering dan energi metabolis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kecernaan yang lebih tinggi adalah penambahan eugenol minyak atsiri daun cengkeh 1,5% pada ransum (E3) dengan kecernaan protein, bahan kering dan energi metabolis masing-masing sebesar 80,3%, 61,5%, dan 68,9%.

Abstract

Kalkun merupakan salah satu jenis unggas dari ordo Galliformes, genus Meleaagriss yang mulai menjadi perhatian masyarakat untuk dibudidayakan. Budidaya kalkun di Indonesia masih sangat kurang, sebagian besar para peternak lebih memilih jenis unggas lain. Ternak kalkun merupakan jenis ternak unggas yang potensial dikembangkan sebagai ternak pedaging, karena memiliki ukuran tubuh yang besar dan mampu memanfaatkan bahan pakan baik berupa butiran dan hijauan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan kalkun jantan umur 19-25 minggu pada tingkat energi berbeda. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di kandang percobaan Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan di Desa Sibalaya Selatan, Kecamatan Tanambulava, Kabupaten Sigi, pada tanggal 24 Juni – 29 Juli 2018. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuannya adalah R1 = Ransum dengan Energi Metabolis 2800 Kkal/Kg, R2 = Ransum dengan Energi Metabolis 2900 Kkal/Kg, R3 = Ransum dengan Energi Metabolis 3000Kkal/Kg. Peubah yang diamati adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Penggunaan level energi 3000 Kkal/kg memberikan hasil positif terhadap konsumsi ransum pada kalkun jantan umur 19-25 minggu.

Abstract

Eugenol is a component of phenol, biologically it can function as an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, insecticide, and antioxidant. The content of eugenol which is quite large in clove leaf essential oil is used as a bioactive substance to increase antioxidant levels in meat. Experimental by using 100 male laying hens were then placed into 20 cage units, each cage unit filled with 5 experimental chickens. Meat sample collection for analysis of phenol and IC50 levels was carried out by slaughtering experimental chickens at 8 weeks of age. Samples of chicken meat were taken from the breast of each experimental animal as much as 100 grams. Determination of the total phenol content of chicken meat using Folin-Ciocalteu with gallic acid as a comparison, while the antioxidant activity testing using the DPPH free radical absorption method. In this experiment, eugenol was added to the basal ration with 5 treatments, namely: E0 = without eugenol; E1 = 0.5% eugenol; E2 = 1% eugenol; E3 = 1.5% eugenol; E4 = 2% eugenol.  The variables observed were phenol levels and IC50 values which can describe the antioxidant power in male laying hens. The results showed that the addition of clove leaf eugenol as an additive in the ratio had a very significant effect (p < 0.01) on phenol levels and IC50 values. male laying hens. Each increase in the use of 0.5% eugenol in the ration can increase the phenol content and decrease the IC50 value significantly in the meat produced. The level of eugenol in the ration was positively correlated with the levels of phenol and antioxidants in the meat of laying hens, while the levels of eugenol in the ration and the levels of phenol in the meat had a negative correlation with the IC50 value of the meat of laying hens.

Abstract

Ketersediaan ransum merupakan faktor yang sangat menentukan keberhasilan suatu usaha peternakan. Ayam mengkonsumsi ransum untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi bagi berlangsungnya proses-proses biologis untuk pertumbuhan. Daun beluntas yang mudah tumbuh dan banyak  terdapat di Indonesia dapat menjadi alternatif yang dapat dimasukkan dalam komposisi pakan untuk ayam. Pemanfaatan daun beluntas secara tradisional  pada umumnya sebagai  penambah nafsu  makan dan  membantu  pencernaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa ayam  arab (Gallus turcicus) umur 48 minggu setelah diberikan tambahan tepungdaun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) dalam ransum. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan dengan rincian R0 = 100% ransum kontrol (0% tepung daun beluntas), R1 = R0 + 2,5% tepung daun beluntas, R2 = R0 +5% tepung daun beluntas,  R3 = R0 +7,5% tepung daun beluntas, R4 = R0 +10% tepung daun beluntas. Parameter yang diukur yaitu, pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, dan konversi ransum. Hasil Analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) dalam ransum ayam arab (Gallus turcicus) berpengaruh tidak nyata (p>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum dan konversi ransum. Hasil konversi ransum terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan R1 dengan nilai konversi ransum 12,4 yang mengandung tepung daun beluntas 2,5%. Kemudian, berdasarkan hasil perhitungan feed cost, pemberian ransum yang terdiri dari ransum basal 97,5% dan tepung daun beluntas 2,5% memiliki cost yang paling rendah.

Abstract

Enzim merupakan senyawa protein yang berfungsi sebagai katalisator untuk mempercepat reaksi pemecahan senyawa kompleks menjadi senyawa yang lebih sederhana. Penambahan multi enzim sebagai campuran bahan pakan unggas memiliki potensi meningkatkan kualitas pakan yang pada akhirnya dikuti oleh peningkatan kualitas telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian multi enzim dalam pakan terhadap kualitas telur. Penelitian di laksanakan selama 42 hari yaitu pada tanggal 27 Desember 2022 - 06 Februari 2023 di Kandang Percobaan Laboratorium Pengembangan Agribisnis Peternakan dan Perikanan Fakultas Peternakan dan Perikanan Universitas Tadulako. Penelitian menggunakan 80 ekor ayam petelur umur 35 minggu. Penelitian ini menggunakan  Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, perlakuan yang dibeikan sebagai berikut: M0 = pakan kontrol (jagung 50% + konsentrat 35 % + dedak padi 15%), M1 = Pakan kontrol + 0,025% Multi enzim, M2 = Pakan Kontrol + 0.050% Multi enzim, M3 = Pakan Kontrol +0.075% Multi enzim dan M4 = Pakan kontrol + 0.10% Multi enzim. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa pemberian multi enzim dalam pakan ayam ras petelur tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (p>0,05) terhadap persentase kuning telur, indeks kuning telur serta warna kuning telur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian Multi enzim hingga 0,10% dalam pakan ayam ras petelur tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap semua perlakuan selama penelitian atau memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap nilai persentase, indeks dan warna kuning telur.

Abstract

Minyak atsiri daun cengkeh mengandung 79,72% eugenol yang merupakan antimikroba, antibiotik dan antioksidan. Penambahan eugenol dalam pakan broiler diharapkan dapat memperbaiki efisiensi penggunaan pakan. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi penggunaan eugenol daun cengkeh dalam pakan yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan. Setiap unit percobaan tersebut digunakan 10 ekor ayam pedaging umur 1 minggu dengan berat badan awal 142,25 ± 7,75 g/ekor selama 5 minggu (umur ayam 42 hari), sehingga total ayam yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 200 ekor. Eugenol yang digunakan berbentuk cair yang diisolasi dari minyak atsiri daun cengkeh. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah E0 (Pakan Basal tanpa penambahan eugenol daun cengkeh), E1 (Pakan basal + eugenol daun cengkeh 0,5%), E2 (Pakan basal + eugenol daun cengkeh 1,0%) dan E3 (Pakan basal + eugenol daun cengkeh 1,5%). Parameter yang diukur adalah konsumsi protein, konsumsi energi metabolis, efisiensi penggunaan pakan dan rasio efisiensi protein. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan eugenol daun cengkeh 0,5 – 1,5% dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan secara sangat nyata (P<0.01) konsumsi protein dan energi metabolis pakan, efisiensi penggunaan pakan dan rasio efisiensi protein pada ayam pedaging. Efisiensi pakan dan rasio efisiensi protein pakan terbaik pada penggunaan eugenol daun cengkeh 1% dalam pakan ayam pedaging masing-masing 0,62±0,02 dan 3,00±0,12 sehingga disarankan penggunaan eugenol daun cengkeh pada ayam pedaging 1% dalam pakan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential benefits of moringa leaf infusion on PE goats' puberty.  The research method used a Randomised Group Design, with five treatments and four groups.  The observed parameters were puberty or time of first estrus, estrus behaviour, estrus quality, onset, and duration.  Analysis in this study used the One-Way ANOVA test followed by Duncan's test to determine the fundamental differences between treatments.  The results of the analysis of variance showed that there is a significant effect between treatments (P <0.05) on puberty.  Treatment P4 (20%) found the fastest puberty time fastest puberty time was found in treatment P4 (20%), which is at the age of PE goats at about 10.25 months, followed by treatment P3 (15%), which is at the age of PE goats at about 10.50 months.  The most extended estrus duration was found in P3 and P4 treatments, 36.50 hours and 36.25 hours, respectively.  This study concludes that moringa leaf infusion can significantly affect puberty or the onset of sexually mature symptoms.  Giving 20% moringa leaf infusion is the maximum dose that can trigger the onset of puberty.  These findings offer hope and optimism for the potential benefits of moringa leaf infusion in managing and developing PE goat farms.
