Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. The general effects of uncontrolled diabetes can lead to serious complications over time. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the survival of diabetes mellitus sufferers with diabetic ulcers at RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo and Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar City. Method: This research is an analytical observational study with a retrospective cohort design. The study population was all patients suffering from DM with diabetic ulcers and recorded in medical records. The research was carried out by tracing the medical records of 100 samples of DM sufferers with diabetic ulcers. Data were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier (p, 0.05) and Cox regression (p<0.25). Results: The results of research with Kaplan Meier show that the factors that influence the survival of diabetes mellitus sufferers with diabetic ulcers are total cholesterol levels (p=0.000), HDL levels (p=0.004), triglyceride levels (p=0.011), and duration of DM ( p=0.000). From multivariate analysis using Cox Regression, the Hazard Ratio (HR) for total cholesterol levels = 11.441 and HR for long DM = 11.829. Conclusion: Avoiding risk factors can influence the survival probability of diabetes mellitus sufferers with diabetic ulcers at RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo and Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar City. Abstract

Citronella is a plant from the grass family that has active compounds, namely antibiotics and antioxidants, so it has the potential to be used as a feed additive. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of giving citronella meal (Cymbopogon nardus) in rations on the percentage of Joper chicken carcasses. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates, where each replicate consisted of five Joper chickens. This data was analyzed by Anova and continued with Duncan Multiple Range-Test, if applicable. The treatments consisted of 1) R0= No provision of citronella meal in the ration, 2) R1= Provision of 2% citronella meal in the ration, 3) R2= Provision of 4% citronella meal in the ration, 4) R3= Provision of 6% citronella meal in the ration, and 5) R4= Provision of 8% citronella meal in the ration. The variables observed in this study were slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, chest percentage, thigh percentage, wing percentage, and back percentage. The results of this study showed that giving citronella meal in rations up to 6% (as fed basis, w/w) had a significant effect (P<0.05) on slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage. Feeding 8% citronella meal showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on the back percentage of Joper chicken. The use of citronella in Joper chickens is limited to 8%, because it is high in fiber (34-36%). The addition of citronella meal up to level 6% in the ration increased weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and the 8% of citronella meal increased the back percentage of Joper chicken.

Abstract

The health industry sector, specifically hospitals, is an important industrial sector because it is related to providing high-quality health services and care to citizens in every country in the world. One way to improve health services in hospitals is to improve information technology (IT) applications in hospitals. This research aims to analyze the influence of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions on behavioral intention and analyze whether the behavioral intention is needed as mediation for use behavior and its impact on use behavior in hospital information systems. The population of this study was health workers who worked at Mitra Keluarga Hospital in the Jabodetabek area with a total of 4755 samplings using the Slovin formula, resulting in 368 samples. In this research, hypothesis testing uses the Structural Equation Model-LISREL analysis technique. The results of this study confirm that performance expectancy has a significant effect on behavioral intention. However, the effort expectancy and social influence variables show no effect on behavioral intention. Then facilitating conditions and behavior intention have a significant effect on use behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to measure carbon reserves in horticultural plants planted on former tin mining land and compared with horticultural plants on non-mining land in Belinyu District, Bangka Regency. The time and place of this study were carried out from February 2023 to July 2023 in Gunung Pelawan Village, Bukit Ketok Village, Bangka Regency. The research method used was the purposive sampling method. The analysis method used percentage analysis. The results of the study showed that the carbon reserve content of plants plantedon former tin mining land was lower as an adaptation to former tin mining land that experienced drought stress and high light intensity but was not significantly different from plants planted on non-tin mining land. This is thought to be because the care given to plants on former tin mining land was quite good. Future research can be carried out by combining morphological, anatomical and physiological observations, as well as analysis of carbon reserve content in horticultural plants as a response to the former tin mining land environment.
