Abstract

This study investigates the viewpoints of PGSD students at Muhammadiyah University Makassar regarding the Bugis-Makassar marriage system from a sociological perspective. Employing a qualitative approach, the research aims to delve into the students' understanding, personal experiences, pros and cons, and expectations concerning the marriage system. Data were collected through in-depth interviews consisting of 21 questions, involving a total of 80 respondents. The results depict a profound understanding of the complexity, allure, and controversies surrounding the Bugis-Makassar marriage system. While students express appreciation for the cultural uniqueness, they also critique specific aspects deemed incompatible with social development. The research findings also reflect variability in students' perspectives on family roles, social norms, and gender issues. In the educational context, students perceive the relevance of understanding the Bugis-Makassar marriage system as a means to cultivate students' awareness of cultural diversity. Their expectations for the Bugis-Makassar marriage system in contemporary times reflect a desire for cultural preservation with adjustments relevant to modern developments and universal values. In conclusion, students convey nuanced perspectives, showcasing an awareness of traditional values while considering changes that can enhance equality and well-being within Bugis-Makassar society.Top of Form

Abstract

The role of the teacher as an instructor needs to shift to become a facilitator or guide in learning. One learning model that can facilitate this is Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) so that student learning outcomes can improve. This research uses a type of classroom action research, which consists of two cycles. This research data was collected using observation sheets and student learning outcomes tests. The collected data was then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of this research show that the application of CIRC (Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition) learning based on the Independent Curriculum can improve the learning outcomes of Class X students at SMA Negeri 13 Sinjai Regency and there is a significant change in students' attitudes towards learning. Thus, the findings of this research have an important contribution for students, teachers and educational practitioners to apply the Independent Curriculum-based CIRC (Cooperative, Integrated, Reading, And Composition) model in the sociological learning process at the high school education level.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students in Social Studies at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. Additionally, it sought to determine the forms of development of critical thinking skills among these students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga was generally effective, though there were shortcomings in the reflection stage. The development of critical thinking skills among these students was gradually progressing and well-realized during the stages of Discovery Learning, with indicators including communication, creativity, problem-solving, openness, argumentation, confidence, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking. However, some indicators of skill development were not optimal due to factors such as shyness, lack of interest, or excessive joking among some students. Nevertheless, these issues could be addressed by teachers through motivating and maintaining classroom focus during the learning process. Notably, students demonstrated good proficiency in argumentation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking, while areas needing improvement included communication, openness, creativity, and confidence.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mengkaji potensi pengembangan usaha mikro kuliner tiram bakar berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir di Tanete Rilau, Kabupaten Barru. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat pesisir, memperkuat potensi ekonomi lokal, dan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan kearifan lokal dalam pengolahan kuliner tiram bakar. Sementara itu, jenis pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif naratif. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, pengembangan usaha mikro kuliner tiram bakar berbasis kearifan lokal di Tanete Rilau, Kabupaten Barru, menunjukkan potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir melalui diversifikasi sumber pendapatan. Inisiatif ini tidak hanya meningkatkan nilai tambah ekonomi hasil laut, tetapi juga melestarikan tradisi lokal melalui pemanfaatan rempah-rempah daerah dan teknik pengolahan tradisional. Dukungan dari pemerintah, pelatihan, akses permodalan, dan pemasaran terbukti menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan program ini. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan modal, logistik, dan konsistensi kualitas produk, upaya ini berhasil menciptakan dampak positif, termasuk peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat hingga 30-40%. Program ini juga memberdayakan perempuan dan pemuda, menciptakan lapangan kerja baru, dan memperkuat partisipasi dalam rantai nilai yang lebih tinggi. Dengan strategi keberlanjutan, seperti pembentukan koperasi dan kolaborasi dengan berbagai pihak, usaha ini memiliki prospek cerah untuk menjadi model pengembangan ekonomi pesisir berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hegemoni bahasa bugis terhadap interaksi sosial masyarakat Kelurahan Olo-Oloh Kabupaten Kolaka Utara. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini melalui Trianggulasi sember, waktu dan teori. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Etnis Bugis sebagai masayarakat pendatang di Kelurahan Olo-Oloho memilki semangat rantau yang sangat besar sehingga mampu bertahan sehingga menjadi bagian dari sistem sosial. Karakter yang dimiliki etnis bugis dapat diterima oleh penduduk lokal sehingga hegemoni bahasa bugis cukup besar terhadap bahasa penduduk lokal. Besarnya hegemoni bahasa bugis karena 1) Etnis bugis sebagai penduduk dominan 2) Integrasi sosial etnis bugis sangat kuat 3) Dominasi Etnis Bugis pada sektor ekonomi dan politik.

Abstract

Sampah plastik merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang tidak kunjung terselesaikan di berbagai negara karena sifatnya yang sulit untuk diurai oleh tanah. Upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan sampah plastik salah satunya yaitu pemanfaatan limbah sampah plastic menjadi ecobrick. Tujuan yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar siswa mampu memahami dampak negatif dari sampah plastik tersebut, agar mampu mengurangi penggunaan plastik sekali pakai, dan cara mengolah limbah plastik dengan program ecobrick di Lingkungan SD Inpres Lambengi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu ceramah, tanya jawab, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung dalam membuat ecobrick. Ecobrik merupakan metode daur ulang sampah plastik yang inovatif karena menggunakan sistem pengumpulan dan pemadatan sampah plastik kedalam botol plastik yang padat dan kokoh. Melalui kegiatan ini siswa tidak hanya belajar tentang pentingnya mengurangi sampah plastik sekali pakai tetapi siswa juga belajar kreativitas dalam memanfaatkan sampah plastik yang sebelumnya dianggap sebagai limbah. Pemanfaatan ecobrik dalam pembelajaran memiliki beberapa manfaat yang signifikan salah satunya mengajarkan siswa tentang tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan, sebagai media pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembuatan ecobrik, dan siswa dapat merasakan manfaat langsung dari upaya mereka dalam mengurangi sampah plastik. Sehingga dengan adanya inisiatif ini generasi mendatang akan lebih sadar akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan berkontribusi pada solusi masalah sampah plastik secara global.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using Sipaurangi 3D learning media in enhancing students' self-efficacy in the subject of Pancasila Education. The Sipaurangi 3D media was developed using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, to ensure that the product meets learning needs. This media was designed to integrate interactive elements that are concrete and engaging, thereby providing students with a more immersive learning experience and motivating them to become more active in the learning process. The study was conducted in Grade IV at SDI Gunung Sari Baru, Makassar City, using data collection methods such as questionnaires, observations, and learning achievement tests. The results showed that Sipaurangi 3D media significantly enhanced students' self-efficacy, as evidenced by an increase in self-efficacy questionnaire scores before and after using the media, with a significance value of (p 0.05). In addition, students gave positive responses to this media, as demonstrated by their increased confidence and motivation in understanding the Pancasila Education material. Teachers also provided positive feedback, stating that this media is practical and effective in capturing students' attention and increasing their participation during the learning process. Thus, Sipaurangi 3D learning media can be proposed as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of learning and student engagement in the teaching-learning process, particularly in subjects that focus on character building and the reinforcement of national values.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas degradasi hubungan kekerabatan di Sabutung Paotere melalui kajian konflik antar kelompok. Kondisi dalam masyarakat tradisional yang mengandalkan sistem kekerabatan sebagai pilar utama struktur sosial dan mekanisme penyelesaian konflik kini mengalami perubahan signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab degradasi hubungan kekerabatan dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap stabilitas sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen dari informan kunci seperti tokoh masyarakat, pemimpin adat, dan anggota komunitas yang terlibat dalam konflik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa degradasi hubungan kekerabatan disebabkan oleh persaingan sumber daya, perbedaan kepentingan, dan melemahnya institusi tradisional. Dampak dari degradasi hubungan kekerabatan yaitu menurunnya kepercayaan antar kelompok, fragmentasi sosial, penurunan kohesi sosial, siklus kekerasan, dan trauma generasional. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan strategi revitalisasi nilai-nilai tradisional dan penguatan mekanisme penyelesaian konflik berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Early marriage in Sidrap Regency is still a worrying phenomenon. Despite various efforts to reduce the number of early marriages, cultural influences, social norms, and economic factors are still strong in encouraging marriage at a young age. This study aims to identify how sociocultural relations affect the practice of early marriage in Sidrap Regency. The method used is a qualitative approach with an exploratory descriptive method. The results of the study show that cultural factors, such as social norms and customs that prioritize marriage as a social obligation, as well as economic pressure, are the main drivers of early marriage. The impact is huge, ranging from the emotional immaturity of couples, the high divorce rate, to the negative impact on reproductive health. In addition, the perception of people who still consider early marriage as a solution to social problems such as pregnancy out of wedlock also worsens the situation. Therefore, preventive efforts involving various parties, such as counseling, increasing access to education, and family economic empowerment, are needed to overcome early marriage in Sidrap.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of child marriage in Sinjai Regency through the perspective of George Homans' exchange theory. This theory is used to understand how individuals and families make marriage decisions based on considerations of value and cost. The method employed in this research is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participatory observation techniques, involving informants who are couples married under the age of 19, as well as their parents from various social and economic backgrounds. The results indicate that child marriage in Sinjai Regency is caused by three main factors: economic reasons, arranged marriages, and premarital pregnancies. The economic factor serves as the primary driver, where families view marriage as a solution to financial difficulties and a means to enhance social status. Arranged marriages, often influenced by cultural norms, also contribute to the decision to marry. Additionally, premarital pregnancies create social pressure that encourages individuals to marry as a form of responsibility. These findings reflect the fundamental principles of Homans' exchange theory, where individuals strive to maximize benefits and minimize losses in social interactions. Therefore, it is essential for the government and society to raise awareness of the negative impacts of child marriage and provide better alternatives, such as education and economic empowerment programs, to reduce the incidence of child marriage in Sinjai Regency.
