Abstract

Solar energy is a source of energy and has advantages compared to fossil energy. Indeed, further research and development of this type of solar power is needed, including at the University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. The use of solar energy is carried out by installing photovoltaic (PV) cells with a photovoltaic output control system that uses MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to regulate the load used and charge the battery. The two PV control methods have different characteristics. These differences will be analyzed based on the characteristics of the load and sunlight contained in the electrical engineering laboratory of the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. It can be seen from the results of the analysis that at power above 200 W, MPPT has a better voltage stability than PWM.

Abstract

Vehicle technicians in checking the condition of the car's engine mounting do it manually, namely, through sight and hearing. This kind of manual method often makes an error in diagnosing engine mounting damage, because each individual has a different level of hearing and vision sensitivity. This research aims to make it easier for technicians to check the feasibility level of engine mounting with accurate data. This tool is based on IoT technology, where the reading of graphs from sensors in analyzing engine mounting damage using a website display and a 20 x 4 LCD. For its data storage with MySQL Database. In its working principle, it uses the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm method, in order to distinguish between engine mounting that is still good and damaged. Graph readings based on normal and abnormal range data from the data retrieval of the engine mounting of the new unit car. The vibration sensor used is the ADXL345 and also several other sensors such as the temperature sensor (MLX90614) and the sound sensor (KY-037). It uses the Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller and the Esp8266 NodeMCU as a data sender to the server. Tests were carried out on cars in idling conditions of 1000-1300 rpm. From the results of the study produced standard feasibility for vibrations from 3 axes (x = 1.60 ; y = 1.60 ; z = 1.90), temperature = 30 °C, Sound = 71 dB.

Abstract

One of the most important and expensive power lines in the distribution method is the low line voltage. In case of overload or short circuit current, it protects the electrical installation. MCB is an important component in electrical installations. The formation of sparks due to a short circuit can eventually cause a fire which has the potential to cause a fire, which is an unwanted MCB nuisance. This MCB can be used as a direct current breaker with a load, either manually or automatically. When the MCB is switched from "ON" to "OFF", the mechanical part in the MCB cuts off the electric current. The manual method involves turning off the toggle switch in front of the MCB (usually blue or black). The finished tool is then tested to see how well components such as AC MCB, DC MCB, Volt meter, LED lamps, Outlets, and lamp fittings perform. The function of the analysis of the characteristics of the use of DC MCBs for the use of DC loads works to compare the use of DC MCBs on AC loads and which ones are the most effective and the circuit is given a load until the MCB trips and amperes and volts are measured in the circuit.

Abstract

Induction heating is a process in which the heater and the object to be heated are not in physical contact. Therefore, several previous studies did not provide information about the effect of winding and coil diameter on the performance of induction heaters. The sensor used is the Ds18b20 sensor which detects the temperature of hot water and cold water. To increase the effectiveness of the use of heat energy through an induction heater directly, the research tool is an induction water heater. Induction heating is the generation of heat in a metal exposed to an induced magnetic field. In this process, a validated graphic temperature controller is invaluable through the monitoring process using software that can detect the hot temperature of the Blynk and 16X2 LCD. The hot water temperature generated by the induction heater allows the system to operate optimally. As a result, the capillary tube reaches a hot temperature and a constant water temperature of 38 ° C in 173 seconds. The microcontroller and flash connection detection test is working fine. This system makes it easy to carry out the temperature monitoring process via a smartphone.

Abstract

Developments continue to be made to meet the electricity needs of the people in Indonesia. Still, in dire need of electricity as a life support, the Pico hydro Power Plant (PLTPH) is a cheap alternative, the advantage of the water turbine is that it is environmentally friendly because it does not disturb the water ecosystem in the rivers that exist in every rural area. The method used by the author is to design a tool to measure the rotation of the generator, the power that comes out of the generator, and others. where the flow of water passes through the turbine lattice so that it moves the turbine shaft and produces electrical energy through a generator then electricity can be stored in the battery and can be used for the appropriate working voltage of 12VDC. In the charging process, reading is also carried out by the sensor, to detect the voltage and current which is then processed by the NodeMCU Esp 32 and then transmitted into the Google sheet.

Abstract

The increasing demand for electricity requires PT. XYZ to provide a sufficient, reliable, safe, high-quality, and efficient source of electrical energy. In serving customers, especially those in the Medium Voltage (MV) category, good protective equipment is needed. However, conventional protective equipment often tends to be large, requires ample land space, and installation is time-consuming. This research covers variables such as contact resistance measurement, PMT (Power Circuit Breaker) synchronism testing, and insulation resistance measurement. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method, the results of maintenance on the 20 kV PMT at PMCB KPI P. Sidomulyo, Buduran Subdistrict, revealed that the contact resistance measurement values for phases R, S, and T were below 100 µΩ, indicating good contact resistance. PMT synchronism testing produced time difference values that were within the permissible standard limits. The time difference when opening (open) was 0.7 ms, while when closing (close), it was 1.05 ms. Insulation resistance measurements showed values that met the standards, which were above 20 MΩ. Based on the research results, PMCB KPI P. Sidomulyo, Buduran Subdistrict, can still be considered suitable for use. With good protective equipment and measurements that meet the standards, the use of 20 kV PMT can remain efficient and safe for consumers.
