Abstract

Sasambo Rembitan Sasak (SRS) has opportunity to develop new business besidesproduce batik Sasambo. The new business is Batik Sasambo tour. Problems faced by the SRS to build Batik Sasambo tour concerned with man resources and information media such as 1). Description about batik Sasambo in English is not available; 2). A few of the craftsmen can speak English. This community service activity aimed to: 1) give information about batik Sasambo produced by Sasambo Rembitan Sasak in English through booklet and brochure; 2) increase craftsmen and staffs’ ability in English; 3) prepare the establishment of Batik Sasambo Tour. The community service is done in three steps are establishment, partner participation and evaluation. Establishment is done through English training, made booklet and brochure in English and initial development of Batik Sasambo tour. Partner participation is active during the implementation the program. Evaluation and sustainability is done after the program and both community service team and partners together not only to prepare SRS to build Batik Sasambo tour but also to be a location for research and working practice. Result of community service showed 1) craftsmen’s performance in English is good; 2) booklet and brochure about Batik Sasambo are provided; 3) preparation to build  Batik Sasambo tour.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the result of the non-English department students’ reading comprehension tested by using cloze test and the effect of using cloze test on non-English department students’ achievement on reading comprehension. This research is classified into pre-experimental research that used one group pre-test and post-test design.  The population of this research is the non-English department students in the academic Year 2020/2021 with a total number of 107 students. The researcher used non-probability sampling type purposive sampling technique and there were 44 students taken as samples. The test is the instrument in this research. Data are taken from the result of pre-test and post-test then analyzed by using statistical technique. The analysis is used to find the significant difference in the students’ reading comprehension ability before and after the use of cloze test. In this research, the researcher used paired sample t-test through SPSS 17.0 to analyze the data. Based on data analysis, the mean score of the pre-test was 46.86 categorized as poor whereas the mean score of the post-test was 65.61 categorized as average to good. The mean score of the pre-test 46.86 smaller than 65.61 mean scores of the post-test. It meant that there was a difference mean score of students’ reading comprehension between the pre-test and post-test. This finding showed there was a different score before and after giving treatment. The result of paired samples t-test analysis showed the significance value Sig. (2-tailed) < alpha (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, the alternative hypotheses which stated that there is an effect of using cloze test on improving non-English department students’ reading comprehension is accepted. It is concluded that there was an effect of cloze test on improving non-English department students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the effort of Songket weaving business through empowerment of human resources at UD Undur Pasang.Method of the study was descriptive quantitative. There were 15 weavers taken as samples.Technique for collecting data used interview and questionnaires.In the preliminary study found that empowerment on human resources in UD. Undur Pasang is needed. Based on the result of the study showed that there are two kinds of training needed for empowerment of Human Resources. 1) Communication Training both in Indonesian and English. This training becomes one of the facilities for marketing Lombok Songket weaving product by UD.Undur Pasang. 2) Business management training so that business management becomes better and systematic

Abstract

This study aimed to describe educational value in the story of Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama and to analyze the planning of Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama to be a local content based on its educational value. This study was conducted at Sandongan village where Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama originated. The method of the study used descriptive analysis method to analyze the relationship between local content and regional potential as well supporting of community and content analysis technique was used to analyze educational value in the story of Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama. Based on the research findings it is found that religious, social and aesthetics were the three educational values in Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama. Besides, the community and government of Saribaye village support the implementation of Kayaq Sandongan mask dance drama as local content at SDN I Saribaye because in accordance with regional potential and it aims to cultural preservation.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan diksi (pemilihan kata) dalam diskusi kelompok pada pembelajaran Matakuliah bahasa Indonesia mahasiwa prodi manajmeen di Universitas Pemdidikan Manadalika Mataram semester 2 tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan mahasiwa prodi manajemen semester 2 tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Objek penelitian ini adalah kesalahan diksi, dalam diskusi kelompok. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, teknik rekaman, serta teknik catat. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan kesalahan diksi berjumlah 13 kesalahan disebabkan pemilihan kata yang kurang tepat, Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi umpan balik bagi mahasiswa, guru bahasa Indonesia, sekolah, peneliti lain, pengguna bahasa dan pihak-pihak terkait.Abstract: research aims to describe diction errors (word choice) in group discussions in Indonesian language learning for management study program students at Mandalika Mataram Education University, semester 2 of the 2023/2024 academic year. This research uses a qualitative descriptive design. The subjects of this research were all management study program students in semester 2 of the 2023/2024 academic year. The object of this research is diction errors in group discussions. Data collection in this research used observation techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data obtained was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this research show that 13 diction errors were found due to inappropriate word choice. The results of this research are expected to provide feedback for students, Indonesian language teachers, schools, other researchers, language users and related parties.

Abstract

Dalam menghadapi persaingan, Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) dituntut untuk melalukan beberapa upaya dengan tujuan untuk memenuhi permintaan konsumen yang semakin spesifik, berubah dengan cepat dan produk yang berkualitas. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan UMKM adalah melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui UMKM sering menjadi tema sentral yang diangkat ke permukaan dan juga menjadi perhatian pemerintah. Salah satu UMKM di Desa Sakra Selatan merupakan salah satu kawasan baru dan pecahan dari Sakra Pusat dan mencoba produksi dan penjualan Songket dan merupakan suatu usaha pengembangan Songket Lombok. Kerajinan menenun songket sudah dimiliki oleh masyarakat setempat dari warisan pendahulunya yang dikembangkan secara turun-temurun. Keindahan produk tenun Songket Dusun Montong Beliak belum dikenal oleh khalayak luas, untuk itu Kelompok ini memproduksi dan menjual Songket. Unit produksi tenun songket Lombok ini jarang dikunjungi oleh para wisatawan baik domestik maupun manca negara, padahal kerajinan Songket Lombok menjadi salah satu daya tarik pariwisata di pulau Lombok. Sebagai salah satu desa produksi tenun songket Lombok, maka kemempuan dalam bidang bahasa Indonesia sangat diperlukan untuk pemasaran hasi produksi.Di sisi lain industri Songket menyerap tenaga kerja.

Abstract

Memberdayakan Perempuan Melalui Pelatihan Keterampilan Membuat Boneka dari Kain Perca. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membekali perempuan melalui pelatihan keterampilan membuat boneka dari kain perca. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kompleks Lingkungan Gatep Indah Ampenan Remora. Peserta pelatihan terdiri dari beberapa wanita dewasa dan remaja. Metode kegiatan ini terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) peserta termotivasi untuk mengikuti pelatihan. Hal ini terlihat dari persentase kehadirannya sebesar 76,25% yang termasuk dalam kategori baik; 2) setelah diberikan pelatihan, peserta mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan membuat boneka dari kain perca. Hal ini terlihat dari pemahaman tentang mengetahui alat apa yang akan digunakan dan bahan apa saja yang dibutuhkan dalam pembuatan boneka. Selain itu, keterampilan mereka dalam proses pengerjaan pekerjaan dengan nilai rata-rata 7,2 yang dikategorikan baik; 3) mengurangi jumlah limbah tambal sulam. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan keterampilan membuat boneka dari kain perca dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu kegiatan pemberdayaan perempuan di lingkungan Gatep Indah Remora, Ampenan, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat.

Abstract

Along with the dynamic development of technology and the need for technology integration in today's learning, technology has become an important element in educational organizations. programs and applications that have been mastered by teachers, namely PowerPoint, Google Translate, Google Doc, the internet, and all forms of technological offerings can undoubtedly support the blended learning pattern which then becomes a learning necessity. Teachers' content and and pedagogical knowledge must be supported by their technological knowledge. The aim of this research is to conduct qualitative research by means of doing semi-structured interview and checking teachers' daily journals about technologies applied in their teaching and learning processes and also the problems of applying those technologies. It was found that there are some technologies commonly used as the instruments of teaching by those 10 teachers in their teaching and learning processes after the pandemic such as: Google Meet, Google Classroom, and WA Group. Next to that, it was also found that there are some common barriers experienced by the teachers in the application of those technologies, such as: hardware and software problems, connectivity, financial problem, protection of personal information, technical support, lack of face-to-face interaction, psychological problems, and language barrier. The result if this research is expected that it can be used as the basis to develop appropriate technologies for teaching English for students to support their CK and PK regarding the implementation of TPACK at school.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SDN 4 Sakra Lombok Timur memiliki beberapa materi tentang membaca puisi.. Berdasarkan hasil observasi selama di SDN 4 Sakra Lombok Timur materi praktik baca puisi kurang efektif dilaksanakan. Dari beberapa kegiatan yang dilaksanakan disekolah tersebut banyak kenadala yang dihadapi ketika berhadapan dengan seni membaca puisi sehingga pelatihan membaca puisi perlu dilakukan dengan tujuan mengimbangi ketidak efektifan materi praktik serta meningkatkan rasa cinta siswa terhdap dunia sastra khususnya dalam seni membaca puisi sehingga guru dan siswa memeliki keterampilan memebaca puisi yang memadai. Adapun metode yang dilakukan adalah observasi, ceramah, pemodelan, latihan terbimbing, performansi, dan diskusi tentang hasil pembacaan. Pelatihan baca puisi ini menghasilkan peserta yang mampu membaca puisi dengan baik yakni sesuai dengan lafal, intonasi dan ekspresi yang tepat.

Abstract

The use of students’ artwork as learning media in General English courses is becoming more widely acknowledged for its many advantages. In order to clarify the significant and the implication of students’ artwork as learning media, this research was conducted. The research questions, namely: 1) what type of students’ artwork is chosen as learning media in General English courses? 2) How is the process of teaching using student artwork as a learning media? 3) what are the advantages of using student’ artwork as a learning media? This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were taken from the result of interview to the five students of Fine Arts study program as the respondents then analyzed in percentage and NVivo 12 analysis. It is concluded that student’s artwork as a learning media should be chosen based on students’ preference. In relation to students’ preference, paintings and sculptures are chosen as learning media in General English courses. The choice of artwork as learning media can increase motivation which helps students learn vocabulary, grammar, writing and speaking more quickly and eventually enables them to communicate in English. Accordingly, when students used artwork as learning media for learning English, they simultaneously advance their understanding of the arts and acquire practice speaking English as a foreign language. Therefore, further investigation is recommended to provide an understanding the implication of students’ artwork as learning media. The research has limitation because it focused only on the English instruction. but did not address assessment using artwork. Therefore, further investigation is recommended to provide an understanding the implication of students’ artwork as learning media.
