Abstract

Kale plant (Brassica oleracea L. Var. Acephala) is a horticultural crop that belongs to the Brassicaceae family. Non-optimal cultivation practices and limited agricultural land are problems faced because agricultural land has been converted for community and residential development. Efforts are made with other alternatives, planting systems that save land, namely by using the NFT hydroponic system. The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the best response to the use of planting media for the yield and growth of kale plants (Brassica oleracea L. Var. Acephala) in the NFT hydroponic system. This experiment used a single-factor RAL (Completely Randomized Design) environmental design experiment consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replicates, namely: A (Rockwool); B (Cocochip); C (Sponge); D (Floral Foam); E (Waste Tea Dip); F (Cotton). The data obtained were analyzed by F test analysis and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) further test at 5% level. The results showed a significant effect of various types of planting media on all parameters. Treatment C (Sponge) produced the greatest results in the parameters of plant height at 21 hst (14.54 cm), 28 hst (22.89 cm), 35 hst (26.96 cm), 42 hst (33.63); Number of leaves 21 hst (7.92 strands), 42 hst (15.88 strands); Leaf area (2480.44 cm²); Fresh weight yield per plant (205.96 g); Weight yield without roots per plant (156.29 g); and Root weight yield per plant (57.5 g).

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kabupaten Karawang merupakan salah satu daerah dengan keragaman varietas durian lokal yang tinggi, namun banyak yang belum teridentifikasi secara ilmiah. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi varietas durian unggul berdasarkan karakteristik morfologinya di Desa Medalsari dan memberikan pelatihan budidaya pengembangan varietas durian unggul dengan teknik sambung. Metode: Observasi lapangan, diskusi, praktik budidaya, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasil: Adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta terkait teknik sambung pucuk. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan skor postest yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pretest. Selain itu, petani menunjukkan antusiasme dalam menerapkan teknik budidaya vegetatif di kebun masing-masing. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan ini efektif dan berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas petani durian di Desa Medalsari dalam identifikasi varietas unggul dan penerapan teknik sambung pucuk.

Abstract

The use of liquid organic fertilizer contains various nutrients required for plant gowth, improves soil quality, enhances soil fertility, and reduces excessive use of inorganic fertilizers, thereby helping to enhance the gowth and yield of Kailan plants. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer from vegetable waste that has the best effect on the gowth and yield of Kailan (Brassica oleracea L.) variety Nita F1. The experiment was conducted in Puseurjaya Village, Telukjambe Timur Subdistrict, Karawang Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, from April to August 2024. The research method used was an experimental design with a single-factor randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 6 treatments in 5 replications: P0 (vegetable waste liquid organic fertilizer concentration 0 ml/l), P1 (vegetable waste liquid organic fertilizer concentration 100 ml/l), P2 (POC concentration of vegetable waste 200 ml/l), P3 (POC concentration of vegetable waste 300 ml/l), P4 (POC concentration of vegetable waste 400 ml/l), P5 (POC NASA 6 ml/l). The effects of the treatments were analyzed using an F-test at the 5% level, followed by a Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the treatments had a significant effect on plant gowth and yield. Treatment P4 (POC concentration of vegetable waste 400 ml/l) yielded the highest results for plant height (25.18 cm), stem diameter (5.61 mm), number of leaves (8.68 leaves), root length (14.68 cm), and fresh weight of the plant (33.84 g).  Keywords: kailan, liquid organic fertilizer, vegetable waste

Abstract

Tempat bertengger di Indonesia termasuk salah satu tanaman yang cukup penting. Usaha untuk meningkatkan produksi umbi-umbian dapat dilakukan dengan perbaikan media tumbuh untuk mempermudah proses pembentukan umbi serta pemanfaatan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh (ZPT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi ZPT Hormax dan perbedaan media tanam yang paling baik dalam menumbuhkan dan menghasilkan tanaman ubi jalar ( Ipomea batatas . L). Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan di Dusun Kaumjaya Desa Puseurjaya, Kecamatan Telukjambe Timur, Kabupaten Karawang. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal yang terdiri dari 9 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan : A (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (2:1:1) + 3 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), B (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (2:1:1) + 6 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), C (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (2:1:1) + 9 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), D (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:2:1) + 3 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), E (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:2:1) + 6 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), F (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:2:1) + 9 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), G (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:1:2) + 3 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), H (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:1:2) + 6 ml/L air ZPT Hormax), dan I (Tanah, arang sekam, cocopeat (1:1:2) + 9 ml/L air ZPT Hormax). Data dianalisa menggunakan uji F taraf 5%. Hasil menunjukkan tidak terdapat pengaruh nyata pada setiap parameter pengamatan
