Abstract

Desa Naman Jahe merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Salapian, Kabupaten Langkat. Desa ini termasuk dalam pantauan pemerintah Kabupaten Langkat karena adanya masalah stunting. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan penulis berkeinginan melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan suatu pengetahuan kepada masyarakat tentang bagaimana budidaya hidroponik, manfaat hidroponik dan jenis media tanam hidroponik yang dimanfaatkan dari limbah padat tanaman kelapa sawit yaitu tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKS) yang banyak terdapat di sekitar desa. Sosialisasi disampaikan  pada  masyarakat yang tidak memiliki lahan ataupun mempunyai lahan yang tidak luas. Selain dapat menyelesaikan masalah stunting, hidroponik juga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan Masyarakat apabila dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu sosialisasi agar pengetahuan yang disampaikan dapat lebih dipahami oleh masyarakat. Dari Kegiatan sosialisasi pemanfaaan TKS ini dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik di desa Naman Jahe.

Abstract

Ecoenzyme perfectly utilizes biological waste for non-chemical sanitation products through the fermentation of sugar, organic materials, and water. Ecoenzyme has been used to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration of eco enzyme as a natural antibacterial and disinfectant. This method uses gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and gram-negative bacteria Escherichia Coli with the disc method. The dilution variations used were 0, 1:10, 1:50, and 1:100. Ecoenzyme is made from organic materials from pineapple, orange, papaya, starfruit, quinine, and mango skin waste (Bioz1), and coenzyme from pineapple, orange, banana stem, noni, quinine waste (Bioz2). The results showed that a ratio of 1:10 was the most effective dilution variation for inhibition against both types of bacteria. Furthermore, dilution at this concentration can be used as a natural disinfectant. The presence of acetic acid and enzymes (i.e. lipase and amylase) can inhibit certain strains of microorganisms, namely Escherichia coli and Enterococcus sp.

Abstract

Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) diharapkan mampu menggantikan (substitusi) nutrisi AB mix (komersial) dengan harga relatif lebih ekonomis, dibandingkan harga AB mix yang cukup mahal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui mutu dan potensi Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) berbahan dasar limbah dan hasil pertanian sebagai nutrisi alternatif pengganti nutrisi komersial dengan fermentasi tahap kedua dari ekoenzim murni (nutrisi Bioz). Penelitian dilakukan dengan 4 tahap, tahap ke-1 adalah pembuatan ekoenzim dari bahan organik dengan fermentasi anaerob selama 100 hari, tahap ke-2 pembuatan nutrisi hidroponik organik dari Ekoenzim yang difermentasi kembali selama 21 hari dengan penambahan bahan organik, tahap ke-3 melakukan analisis data sekunder terhadap kandungan nutrisi hidroponik komersial dan analisis data primer kandungan unsur hara dari nutrisi Bioz terhadap kandungan unsur nitrogen, fosfor, kalium, dan pH. Metode Analisis unsur tanah dilakukan dilakukan dengan metode uji Kjeldahl untuk kandungan unsur Nitrogen (N), analisis unsur fosfor (P) dilakukan dengan Spektrofotometri, analisis unsur K menggunakan metode Atomic Absorption Spektrofotometric (AAS), analisis C-organik menggunakan alat Spektrofotometri, dan pH dari Bioz diukur menggunakan pH meter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fermentasi tahap kedua (re-fermentasi) dari ekoenzim dapat meningkatkan kandungan unsur hara dari nutrisi Bioz.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan ekoenzim (EE) yang dihasilkan dari fermentasi limbah hortikultura dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur patogen Candida albicans. Ekoenzim merupakan larutan hasil fermentasi limbah organik, gula, dan air yang mengandung berbagai senyawa bioaktif. Dalam studi ini, digunakan dua jenis campuran limbah hortikultura, masing-masing difermentasi selama 100 hari, dan diuji dengan variasi konsentrasi: murni (1:0), 1:10, 1:50, dan 1:100. Pengujian dilakukan secara in vitro dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 1:50 pada Bioz1 memberikan daya hambat tertinggi (7,38 mm), sedangkan Bioz2 menunjukkan hasil optimal pada konsentrasi 1:0 dan variasi konsentrasi adalah 1:10 (6,48 mm). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa ekoenzim memiliki potensi besar sebagai disinfektan alami terhadap jamur patogen. Kesimpulan adalah Ekoenzim berbahan dasar hasil dan limbah pertanian memiliki potensi sebagai agen pengendali hayati terhadap C. Albicans, sebagai solusi pada pengendalian penyakit yang ramah lingkungan sekaligus mengurangi limbah organik sehingga dapat mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan

Abstract

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the vegetable commodities cultivated by farmers in Indonesia and is considered a multifunctional crop. In addition to being consumed as a vegetable, tomatoes are also used as raw materials in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, as well as in food processing. This research was conducted at the Research Field of Pembangunan Panca Budi University, located in Dusun 3, Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of cow manure and banana peel liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the growth and yield of tomato plants. The experiment employed a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors, namely cow manure (K) and banana peel liquid organic fertilizer (C), each replicated three times. Factor I consisted of cow manure application (K) at four levels: K0 = 0 kg/plot, K1 = 1.5 kg/plot, and K2 = 3 kg/plot. Factor II consisted of banana peel POC application (C) at four levels: C0 = 0 ml/L water/plot, C1 = 175 ml/L water/plot, C2 = 350 ml/L water/plot, and C3 = 525 ml/L water/plot. The results showed that the application of cow manure and the concentration of banana peel POC significantly influenced plant height, stem diameter, number of fruits per plot, fruit weight per sample, total fruit weight per plot, and fruit diameter. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal activity of eco-enzyme (EE) derived from various horticultural organic wastes against Candida albicans. Two formulations were prepared: Bioz1 (pineapple peel, orange, papaya, starfruit, kuini, and mango) and Bioz2 (pineapple, orange, banana corm, noni, and kuini). Both were fermented for 100 days. The antifungal activity was tested in vitro using the disc diffusion method at concentrations of 1:0, 1:10, 1:50, and 1:100 (EE: distilled water). Results indicated that Bioz1 at 1:50 exhibited the highest inhibition zone (7.38 mm, medium category), while Bioz2 at 1:0 showed the strongest activity (8.16 mm, medium category). Dilution at 1:10 in Bioz2 was the most effective concentration for inhibiting fungal growth. These findings highlight the potential use of eco-enzyme as an environmentally friendly natural disinfectant against pathogenic fungi

Abstract

Flooding is a major problem that frequently occurs in Medan City due to high rainfall, dense settlements, and limited drainage system capacity. Conventional drainage planning still faces obstacles in real-time monitoring of channel conditions, resulting in less than optimal flood management responses. This study aims to examine the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in planning a smart drainage system as a flood mitigation effort in Medan City. The research method was carried out through literature review, conceptual modeling, and analysis of IoT infrastructure needs, including water level sensors, data communication devices, and integration with geographic information systems (GIS). The results of the study indicate that the implementation of an IoT-based drainage system can improve the effectiveness of water flow monitoring, support rapid decision-making in flood control, and provide accurate spatial data for urban spatial planning. In conclusion, the use of IoT has great potential to support the development of a smart drainage system in Medan City, thereby reducing flood risk and increasing the resilience of urban infrastructure in a sustainable manner.
