Abstract

Hutabaringin Village Community, District. Sorik Merapi, Kab. Madina h sources of livelihood in the agricultural sector, namely: rice, vegetable crops, frui gelugor acid, and plantation crops, especially coffee. The problems identified ar limited capital, seeds, tools and agricultural machinery (alsintan) as well as farmer knowledge in managing coffee to obtain high productivity. Therefore, the Marsipatur Hutanabe Mono Year Service Team carries out outreach activities, training an provides donations in the form of coffee seeds and machinery in the form of mi drying houses and coffee roasting machines to support cultivation and post-harve to increase coffee productivity. This activity uses field survey methods, outreac training on controlling coffee plant pests, training on post-harvest processing coffee and focus group discussions (FGD). Next, the handover of coffee seeds, coffe drying house, coffee roasting machine and yellow trap was carried out. The activit went well and received a positive response from farmer groups in Hutabaringi Village, Puncak Sorik Marapi, Madina.

Abstract

Abstract

Arjuna Farm is a goat-sheep farm that was established to increase family income with an educational concept that targets meeting the community's protein needs. Limited knowledge in the field of animal husbandry in the form of procurement of feed ingredients, ration formulation, and management, encouraged the team from the LPPM Annual Service, Universitas Sumatera Utara to provide assistance with solutions offered to farmers, including providing training, lectures, discussions, and demonstrations of waste-based feed processing. agriculture, and food processing industry, making complete silage feed, making MOL bio activator in fermentation and maintenance management. This activity is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders. Apart from that, assistance was provided in the form of goat milking equipment and cage design. This activity is predicted to result in savings in animal feed costs because it can utilize alternative sources of feed ingredients, formulate and make concentrate feed independently, and complete fermentation methods.

Abstract

Copula functions are powerful statistical tools for modeling the dependency structure between random variables and have been widely applied in domains such as finance, oceanography, and hydrology. However, their application in image processing, particularly for image forgery detection, remains underexplored. This study proposes a novel blind copy-move forgery detection algorithm based on copula-based mutual information, which evaluates statistical dependencies between overlapping image blocks. By leveraging copula theory, the method accurately identifies duplicated regions within a single image without requiring prior knowledge or external references. Experimental results on the CoMoFoD dataset demonstrate that the proposed method achieves high precision, recall, and F1-scores across various manipulation types, including translation, scaling, and rotation, and shows resilience to post-processing operations such as JPEG compression, blurring, noise, and color reduction. Comparative analysis reveals that the copula-based approach outperforms classical methods such as SIFT, SURF, and DWT-SVD. In addition to quantitative performance, qualitative visualizations confirm that the algorithm effectively localizes forged regions in complex scenes with minimal false detections. These findings highlight the potential of copula functions as a robust and efficient framework for digital image forensics.

Abstract

The community service activity was carried out by the community service team under the International Cooperation Service Scheme of the Community Service Research Institute (LPPM) of the University of Sumatera Utara (USU) by inviting the Pujakesuma community, family welfare empowerment, and the community at Griya Nusa Tiga, aiming to introduce and implement hydroponic and fish cultivation in the bucket (Budikdamber) techniques to participants through lectures and practical training sessions. The community services were conducted from August to September 2024, involving 40 respondents from Griya Nusa Tiga Complex, Medan, North Sumatra. Research data was obtained through field observations, data collection, and interviews. The hydroponic systems applied to mustard greens and kale demonstrated advantages in terms of shorter harvest times and efficient yields; meanwhile, cultivating catfish in a bucket with the benefit of kale insects in the system improved plant quality and productivity, reduced pesticide use, and lowered production costs. The training also included hands-on practice, nutrient and water management, and result evaluation, allowing 40 participants to analyze challenges and solutions. Overall, the activity contributed to environmental sustainability, supporting community development through more efficient and eco-friendly practices with significant economic and ecological benefits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and measure environmental performance efficiency in residential areas in Medan City using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method combined with a fuzzy approach. Environmental performance is measured based on relevant inputs and outputs, where the data used are secondary data obtained from previous research reports. Fuzzification is applied to address uncertainty in the data by converting input and output values into Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFN). The results of the study show that out of the 4 Decision Making Units (DMUs) studied without using the fuzzy approach, only the Helvetia housing complex achieved 100% efficiency. Meanwhile, the efficiency values for Tuntungan, Martubung, and Johor housing estates were 85.92%, 88.69%, and 94.87%, respectively. When the fuzzy approach was applied, the efficiency values of the Johor and Helvetia housing estates reached 100% efficiency, while the Tuntungan and Martubung housing estates had an efficiency of 78.22%, indicating inefficiency. This inefficiency is caused by excessive use of drainage inputs, indicating that these housing complexes are unable to produce environmental outputs commensurate with the inputs used. This study recommends improving the quality and quantity of environmental management and cleanliness, as well as the availability and quality of green spaces, to enhance environmental efficiency in housing. The findings of this study provide important insights into the efficiency of environmental performance measurement and highlight opportunities for improvement in environmental management within housing.
