Abstract

Legal policies causing environmental damage raise questions about legal standing to file lawsuits with the State Administrative Court and its authority over business license disputes. This study examines the challenges and opportunities in implementing the authority of the state administrative court as a form of law enforcement on business licenses that impact environmental damage. This study uses the qualitative method NVivo12 Plus 12 by analyzing legal rules, journals, and online print media such as detik.com and kompas.com. The research focuses on the approach of laws and regulations related to the environment and case studies based on Supreme Court decisions. The Administrative Court plays a role in receiving claims against government actions that harm citizens. One of them is the authority to adjudicate disputes over government actions related to environmental disputes. Community participation is essential to create a healthy environment and is used not only as a means to an end but also as an end. The right to a healthy climate encompasses the right to receive environmental information, participate in decision-making, and review challenging public decisions within the scope of access to justice.

Abstract

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) present significant opportunities for the creative industry in digitizing and monetizing artistic works. However, a major challenge arises in copyright protection, particularly in Indonesia, which has yet to establish specific regulations addressing NFTs within its intellectual property (IP) law framework. Currently, legal protection relies on Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright, which does not fully accommodate the characteristics of blockchain technology. This study aims to analyze copyright protection in Indonesia's NFT ecosystem, compare it with regulatory frameworks in the United States and the European Union, and provide policy recommendations that are more adaptive to the advancement of digital technology. The research adopts a normative juridical approach, incorporating comparative legal analysis and empirical studies through interviews with 15 key stakeholders, including digital artists and legal practitioners. The findings indicate that 78% of respondents perceive Indonesia’s current regulatory framework as ineffective in protecting NFT copyrights, whereas regulatory developments in the United States and the European Union have successfully reduced NFT copyright disputes by 40% over the past five years. Additionally, an analysis of 30 NFT-related disputes on OpenSea and Rarible reveals that 65% of cases involve copyright claims that cannot be effectively resolved through national legal mechanisms. This study recommends implementing a takedown notice mechanism, integrating smart contracts for creator royalties, and strengthening digital arbitration frameworks within Indonesia’s legal system. With clearer regulations, Indonesia’s NFT ecosystem is expected to develop with stronger legal protections for digital content creators

Abstract

The enactment of Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (UU Cipta Kerja) aims to simplify bureaucracy, attract investment, and create job opportunities in Indonesia. However, its implementation has raised legal uncertainties, particularly following the Constitutional Court’s ruling that deemed the law conditionally unconstitutional. Concerns have also emerged from labor unions and environmental organizations regarding its potential impact on workers’ rights and environmental sustainability. This study analyzes the legal and public policy perspectives of UU Cipta Kerja by evaluating its impact on investment, employment, and legal certainty. Using a qualitative approach with a document study method, this research examines legal documents, policy regulations, and court rulings, supplemented by expert interviews. The findings reveal that the law contributed to an 8.3% increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in its first year, reaching IDR 454 trillion in 2021. However, contract workers increased by 25%, raising concerns about job security. Additionally, five constitutional challenges were filed against the law in 2023, reflecting legal uncertainty. Weaknesses in environmental oversight were also identified due to relaxed business licensing requirements. These findings suggest that while UU Cipta Kerja supports investment growth, stronger legal safeguards and monitoring mechanisms are needed to ensure balanced benefits for all stakeholders. This study contributes to discussions on labor and investment policies by emphasizing the need for inclusive regulatory reforms that align economic growth with legal stability and worker protection.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the legal considerations that prevent a person from being convicted when accessing pornographic content and identify the implications that arise from the consumption of such content. The main focus of this research is how legal regulations in various countries, including Indonesia, regulate access to pornography and the extent of the application of criminal law. The research method used is a normative juridical method with a statute approach and conceptual approach. Data is obtained through literature study, including rules and regulations, court decisions, academic literature, and social media. The results show that the non-criminalization of individuals who access pornography is based on the principle of no crime without a clear legal basis and the right to individual privacy. Most regulations place more emphasis on criminalizing the production, distribution, and dissemination of pornographic content than personal consumption. However, some countries apply exceptions in some instances, such as the consumption of child pornography, which is expressly prohibited.

Abstract

Hematite was successfully synthesized from iron lathe waste using guava leaf extract as a reducing agent. To enhance adsorption capacity, hematite was composited with gelatin, a polymer containing amide and carboxylate functional groups. The hematite-gelatin composite was employed as an adsorbent for Pb solutions. This study investigated the material's structure and the adsorbent's performance, including the composite's optimum dosage and contact time. Characterization techniques included XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX, and AAS analyses. XRD analysis revealed that the hematite-gelatin composite exhibited a high degree of crystallinity. FTIR analysis of the guava leaf extract spectrum identified phenolic vibrational absorption with strong intensity at 3447 cm-1 (O-H stretching) and a weak C-H vibrational bond at 2928 cm-1. An ester group (C=O) at 1726 cm-1 indicated the presence of tannin compounds. For the hematite-gelatin composite, a C-O absorption band was observed at 1075 cm-1, along with Fe-O absorption bands at 430 and 519 cm-1. The SEM results show that the gelatin-hematite composite has a hollow and layered surface. The EDX analysis results show that the material contains C, N, O, Pb, and Fe, which indicates that gelatin has interacted with Pb when it becomes a composite and has absorbed Pb at a level of 1.4% after adsorption. Performance evaluation of the hematite-gelatin composite demonstrated high adsorption efficiency for Pb solutions. The adsorbent exhibited a high adsorption capacity of 800 mg/g with an optimal adsorbent dosage of 15 ppm and an optimal contact time of 70 minutes. The adsorption kinetics of the hematite-gelatin composite followed a pseudo-first-order adsorption model.

Abstract

Boyolali Regency emerged as the leading producer of papayas in Central Java Province in 2023, with a production volume reaching 324,978.72 quintals per year. However, during peak harvest seasons, a significant portion of the harvested papayas fails to be sold optimally due to non-compliance with syarat mutu standards set by middlemen and buyers. The development of fruit leather is proposed as a strategy to mitigate food loss and enhance the economic value of papayas during peak harvest periods, leveraging the region's potential. The stages of implementation are pre-training and post-training. Prior to the implementation of fruit leather production training, 89.47% of members of the Ngudi Santosa Farmers Group in Boyolali Regency were aware of the nutritional content of papayas, yet 63.16% had never processed papayas into food or beverages to increase their utility and economic value. Following the training, over 89% of participants gained an understanding of the fruit leather production process, recognizing that it can be made not only from papayas but also from various other fruits. Additionally, they acknowledged that fruit leather is a functional food product designed to enhance the utility and economic value of fruits. The papaya fruit leather production training received a "very satisfied" rating from 50% of participants, while the remainder rated it as "satisfied." This indicates that community training on agricultural processing to create value-added products with enhanced utility and economic benefits like papaya fruit leather is highly anticipated by the public. Such initiatives are particularly relevant during peak harvest seasons to address and prevent food loss.
