Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengetahuan gizi seimbang remaja sebelum dan sesudah pemberian edukasi Twitter thread. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimental dengan tipe one group pretest-posttest design. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 52 orang yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi, yaitu siswa-siswi aktif kelas 7 dan 8 di SMP Harjamukti, bisa membaca dan menulis, memiliki akses pada laptop, komputer atau ponsel (smartphone), memiliki akun Twitter dan bersedia menjadi responden penelitian. Responden diberikan edukasi tentang gizi seimbang melalui thread Twitter sebanyak tiga kali dalam satu minggu dan diulang selama enam minggu. Data mengenai karakteristik individu dan pengetahuan gizi didapatkan melalui kuesioner. Pengumpulan kuesioner dilakukan pada sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi gizi seimbang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pengetahuan gizi seimbang remaja sebelum dan sesudah intervensi (p = 0,000). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara perubahan pengetahuan gizi seimbang dengan perubahan status gizi responden (p = 0,547; r = 0,085). Pada penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk mengambil variabel lanjutan dari pengetahuan berupa sikap dan perilaku tentang gizi seimbang dengan jangka waktu penelitian yang lebih lama.

Abstract

Background: Female obesity prevalence was higher than male in 2018 at 44.4% and 26.6%, respectively, according to Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). There is conflicting evidence on the effect of hormonal contraception on weight gain. While in Indonesia, hormonal contraception has been the most popular method. Objectives: Examining the association between hormonal contraception usage, macronutrient consumption, and nutritional status. Methods: This cross-sectional study involves 106 non-pregnant women aged 20-45 recruited using consecutive sampling methods. Respondents were grouped into hormonal and non-hormonal contraceptive users. Data analysis utilized chi-square, Fischer exact and multiple linear regression. Results: More than half (59.5%) used hormonal contraception, while 40.5% used non-hormonal contraceptives. We found no significant correlation between hormonal contraception and Body Mass Index (BMI) (p-value=0.081), waist circumference (p-value=0.789), and macronutrient intake (p-value of energy=0.0675; protein=0.758; fat=0.156; carbohydrate=0.23). There was no significant relationship between the duration of contraceptive usage and BMI (p-value=0.163 and 0.248) or waist circumference (p-value=0.282 and 0.066) for either users or nonusers. Linear regression models showed that only fat and carbohydrate intake significantly contribute to waist circumference (The adjusted R2 of the model was 0.244, F 12.3, Sig.<0.001) and BMI (The adjusted R2 of the model was 0.206, F 7.8, Sig.<0.001). Conclusions: There was a relationship between BMI, body fat percentage, junk food consumption pattern (type, frequency, amount of intake and fat), energy intake, fat intake, emotional overeating, diet attitude, and oral control of the abdominal circle. There was no significant relationship between fiber intake and abdominal circumference.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Remaja dengan status gizi obesitas dan normal memiliki perbedaan yang bermakna pada frekuensi konsumsi makanan kemasan dan kebiasaan membaca label gizi. Pengetahuan menjadi petunjuk utama ketika membaca label gizi yang akan berpengaruh pada perilaku dalam memilih makanan kemasan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan, kebiasaan membaca nutrition facts dan frekuensi konsumsi makanan kemasan dengan status gizi lebih remaja pengunjung sudin pusar jaksel. Metode :  Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan teknik accidental sampling. Sampel yang terpilih sebanyak 38 remaja berusia 18-25 tahun. Pengambilan dan pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan alat ukur berupa microtoise dan timbangan digital. Data yang diperoleh diuji menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan nutrition facts (p=1,000), kebiasaan membaca nutrition facts (p=0,235), dan frekuensi konsumsi makanan kemasan (p=1,000) tidak berhubungan (p>0,05) dengan status gizi lebih remaja. Kesimpulan: Mayoritas responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan nutrition facts yang cukup (73,7%) namun tidak patuh dalam membaca nutrition facts (68,4%) sehingga diperlukan keselarasan antara pengetahuan dengan perilaku agar berdampak nyata pada frekuensi konsumsi makanan kemasan dan status gizi.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Anemia menjadi salah satu masalah gizi yang masih menjadi perhatian dunia saat ini. Menurut WHO remaja usia 10-19 tahun memiliki risiko tinggi menderita anemia. Di Indonesia prevalensi anemia meningkat menjadi 23,7% dalam kurun lima tahun terakhir. Pencegahan anemia pada remaja khususnya remaja putri salah satunya dapat dilakukan melalui edukasi gizi. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh edukasi gizi melalui video Tiktok dan komik terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan anemia pada remaja putri di SMK Negeri 41 Jakarta. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan ialah quasy experimental dengan rancangan pre-posttest group design pada 72 siswi kelas X dan XI di SMK Negeri 41 Jakarta yang dipilih melalui stratified random sampling. Uji statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank dan Mann Whitney. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara daring. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan responden sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi melalui media komik (p = 0,000) dan video tiktok (p = 0,000). Kesimpulan: Ada pengaruh edukasi gizi melalui media komik dan video tiktok terhadap pengetahuan tentang anemia pada remaja putri di SMK Negeri 41 Jakarta.

Abstract

Underweight in children, defined as failure to achieve a normal weight for age, poses a significant risk of stunting if not properly addressed. This study investigates the determinants of underweight among children aged 6–23 months in Central Sulawesi Province through quantitative analysis of secondary data from the 2022 SSGI. The research employed a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 1,991 children, analyzing the data through chi-square tests and logistic regression. Multivariate analysis identified several significant factors: low birth weight (low birth weight (LBW)) (p=0.000; OR 2.304; 95% CI 1.620–3.277), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.023; OR 1.507; 95% CI 1.057–2.149), frequency of complementary feeding (CF) (p=0.043; OR 0.775; 95% CI 0.606–0.992), age at introduction of CF (p=0.043; OR 0.708; 95% CI 0.507–0.989), acute respiratory infections (ARI) (p=0.005; OR 1.429; 95% CI 1.117–1.828), and diarrhea (p=0.045; OR 1.368; 95% CI 1,007–1,859). The study concludes that low birth weight (low birth weight (LBW)) is the primary risk factor for underweight in this population. Recommendations include further research into the quantity and diversity of complementary foods, the frequency of CF, and maternal health factors during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Some mothers perceive that their breast milk production is insufficient, which hinders them from breastfeeding their infants. Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2022, only 52.2% of infants in Indonesia receive exclusive breastfeeding, below the target of 80%. Previous research shows that the consumption of food bars made from a combination of torbangun and katuk leaf flour can increase breast milk production, compared to consuming the leaves separately. Additionally, maternal nutritional status also plays a role. Mothers with good nutritional status tend to produce breast milk of better quantity and quality. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of food bars made from katuk and torbangun leaf flour in increasing breast milk production and the nutritional status of breastfeeding mothers in Limo Subdistrict, Depok.  Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre- and post-test without control group design. This study was conducted for four days. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, followed by appropriate statistical tests (paired t-test if normally distributed or Wilcoxon test if non-normally distributed). The sample consisted of 15 participants selected through simple random sampling.  Results: The paired t-test results showed a p-value of <0.001, indicating a significant difference in breast milk production before and after the consumption of food bars made from katuk and torbangun leaf flour. However, the analysis of maternal nutritional status yielded a p-value of 0.317 (>0.05), indicating no significant difference in maternal nutritional status before and after the consumption of the food bars. Conclusions: The findings indicate that consuming food bars made from katuk and torbangun leaf flour effectively increases breast milk production. However, their consumption does not significantly affect the nutritional status of breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar Belakang: Anemia adalah suatu kondisi rendahnya konsentrasi haemoglobin dibawah standar. Anemia pada wanita usia subur (WUS) dihubungkan dengan tingginya resiko melahirkan bayi berat lahir rendah (BBLR) serta kematian ibu dan bayi. Asupan energi dan protein berhubungan langsung dengan status anemia, namun ketidakkonsistenan masih sering ditemukan, sehingga studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan kecukupan energi dan protein dengan status anemia WUS (15 – 44 tahun).Metode: Studi ini menggunakan desain cross sectional yang melibatkan 586 WUS di Kecamatan Ciampea, Bogor yang direkrut dengan metode multi cluster random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur dan data yang didapatkan diolah menggunakan SPSS 20.Hasil: Hasil menyatakan ada hubungan antara kecukupan protein dengan kejadian anemia pada WUS (OR=0.52, p=0,01). Lebih lanjut, ditemukan bahwa tidak ada hunbungan yang bermakna antara kecukupan energi dengan kejadian anemia.Kesimpulan: Prevalensi anemia pada WUS di Kecamatan Ciampea, Bogor sebesar 32,9% yang berhubungan dengan kecukupan asupan protein. Wanita dengan konsumsi protein cukup lebih kecil resikonya untuk menderita anemia. Associations between Energy and Protein Adequacy with Prevalence of Anemia among Indonesian Women of Reproductive Age in Ciampea Sub-district Bogor AbstractBackground: Anemia is a condition of low hemoglobin concentration below a certain cut-off points. Anemia occurrence among women of reproductive age (WRA) is linked to a high risk of low birth weight, premature death, and maternal mortality. Energy and protein intake, classically related to the anemia, however, the inconsistency still exists, so that the objective of the current study is to assess the association of the energy and protein intake adequacy to anemia status of women of reproductive age (15 – 44 years old).Methods: The design of the study is cross-sectional that involved 586 WRA in Ciampea Sub-district, Bogor that is recruited by multi-cluster random sampling. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.Results: There is an association between protein intake association with anemia status of WRA (OR-0.52, p=0,01). Further, it has shown no significant association between energy intake adequacy with anemia status.Conclusion: Anemia prevalence among WRA in Ciampea Sub-district, Bogor was 32.9% that is associated with protein intake adequacy. Women with adequate protein intake were less likely to be anemic.

Abstract

Wanita usia subur (WUS) merupakan kategori wanita yang  memiliki rentang usia 15 – 49 tahun. Pada usia tersebut, wanita rentan terhadap penyakit reproduksi seperti PCOS, kanker serviks, dan permasalahan gizi seperti obesitas. Prevalensi angka obesitas pada wanita usia subur memiliki prevalensi yang tinggi dengan total 26,4% di Kota Depok. Dengan itu, diperlukan kegiatan berupa pemberian edukasi mengenai pentingnya menjaga pola hidup yang baik seperti bijak dalam memilih asupan makanan agar tidak mengalami kelebihan asupan energi. Kegiatan pemberian edukasi dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penyuluhan yang dihadiri oleh 30 WUS di daerah Pengasinan, Sawangan, Depok. Edukasi dilakukan dengan media leaflet, poster, dan produk camilan kemasan. Hasil evaluasi pengetahuan menunjukkan peningkatan rerata skor pre test dan post test, masing-masing 8.03 + 1.52 SD dan 9.67 + 0.54 SD. Hasil uji beda menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rerata skor evaluasi pengetahuan tersebut p<0.05 pada pengetahuan mengenai pengetahuan obesitas dan tata cara membaca label informasi nilai gizi  sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya edukasi. Pengetahuan terkait label informasi nilai gizi diharapkan dapat menginisiasi perubahan perilaku kepada konsumsi pangan yang lebih sehat.

Abstract

Background: In 2018, the province of DKI Jakarta ranked first in obesity with a prevalence rate of 10% and second in overweight with a prevalence rate of 15.1% among adolescents aged 13-15 years. These figures exceed the national prevalence rate. Obesity has a negative impact on their quality of life. These effects include reduced mobility, academic performance, and various factors that can influence the occurrence of overweight and obesity in adolescents. Objectives:The objective of this study is to determine the determinants of overweight and obesity among adolescents aged 13-15 years in DKI Jakarta. Methods: This research design is a cross-sectional study that utilizes secondary data obtained from the 2018 Riskesdas (Indonesia basic health research) survey, with a sample size of 597 adolescent respondents aged 13-15 years. Bivariate analysis was conducted using chi-square, and multivariate analysis was performed using logistic regression. Results:The results of the bivariate analysis show that maternal education (p=0.001) and energy drinks (p=0.036) have an influence on the occurrence of obesity in adolescents. In the multivariate analysis, it is revealed that the variable that most significantly and statistically affects the occurrence of obesity in adolescents is mother's education, with an odds ratio (OR) value of 1.895 and a CIf1.305-2.752. Conclusions: The determinants of overweight and obesity among adolescents aged 13-15 years in DKI Jakarta are mother's education, with an ap value of 0.001 and an odds ratio (OR) value of 1.895. This means that mothers with lower education levels have a 1.895 times higher risk of having adolescents with obesity status.

Abstract

Background: Female adolescents are a group that is prone to having anemia because they are in the second growth spurt phase and experience menstruation monthly. Anemia in young women causes a detrimental effect. The increase in prevalence of anemia can be prevented and reduced by iron supplementation in women of reproductive age, including female adolescents. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between the compliance of iron supplement consumption, nutrient intake, and nutritional status with the incidence of anemia in female adolescents at SMPN 1 Gunungsari. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. The research population was female students at SMPN 1 Gunungsari, totaling 290 female students. The sample in this study was selected using a stratified random sampling method, totaling 61 respondents. The data collection used Hb examination, SQ-FFQ form, and anthropometric examination. Analysis of the relationship used the Chi-Square test and Fisher's Exact. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between the compliance of iron tablets consumption (p=0.002), protein intake (p=0.034), and iron (p=0.046) with the incidence of anemia, and there was no relationship between intake of vitamin C (p=0.139), iron inhibitors (p=0.183), and nutritional status (p=1.000) with the incidence of anemia in female adolescents at SMPN 1 Gunungsari. Conclusions: This study concludes that there is a relationship between compliance to iron supplement consumption, protein, and iron intake with the incidence of anemia, and there is no relationship between intake of vitamin C, iron inhibitors, and nutritional status with the incidence of anemia.
