Abstract

This research is motivated by the rise of intolerant and radical content on social media which influences students' perceptions of diversity. Apart from that, low digital literacy and the ability to filter information are also factors that worsen this situation. The urgency of this research lies in the high use of social media among students, which makes it one of the most effective tools for spreading the values of religious moderation. However, a lack of awareness and ability to use social media wisely can be a challenge in itself. By strengthening digital literacy and religious moderation, it is hoped that PMII students can become catalysts for more inclusive change in society. This research presents novelty by focusing on digital and social media-based interventions to strengthen religious moderation literacy.                        This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and analysis of related documents. The main respondents were PMII students who were actively involved in religious organization activities in Pandeglang. Data analysis was carried out using a thematic approach to identify patterns and themes related to religious moderation literacy.                                   The results of this research show that there is a fairly good understanding of the principles of moderation, but there are also several challenges and obstacles faced in implementing these values in everyday life. Factors such as environmental influences, social media, and group pressure can influence the understanding and practice of religious moderation. In the context of digital literacy, several studies show that students' digital literacy level is still relatively low, especially in recognizing hoax and intolerant content. It is hoped that the implementation of this research can increase understanding and practice of religious moderation, so that students can become agents of positive change in building an inclusive and harmonious society.

Abstract

Abstract

ECOPOLIS VILLAGE: EDUCATION AND REAL ACTION ON INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BY THE PANDEGLANG REGENCY YOUTH COMMUNITY. The increase in waste volume without a proper management system has become a serious problem in Pandeglang Regency. The lack of education and active participation of the community, especially young people, in waste management has led to waste accumulation and potential environmental pollution. The “Kampung Ekopolis” community service program aims to empower youth communities in implementing a community-based integrated waste management model. The program implementation method consists of three main stages: (1) Education and Socialization, through counseling on waste sorting, the impact of plastic waste, and the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle); (2) Concrete Action, through the establishment of a waste bank unit, training in ecobrick making, and organic waste composting; and (3) Simple Infrastructure Development, in the form of a sorted waste collection point. The results of this program show an 80% increase in the youth community's knowledge and awareness of waste management. In concrete terms, a waste bank has been established, which has collected 150 kg of inorganic waste in one month, as well as producing ecobricks and compost that can be reused by the community. The Ekopolis Village program proves that youth communities can be effective agents of change in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The sustainability of the program is ensured through partnerships with relevant agencies and transparent financial management of the waste bank by local youth.

Abstract

This article interrogated the phenomenon of female breadwinners within Javanese society, with a particular focus on priyayi women from both the royal court and the contemporary elite. It explores how evolving gender roles contest classical Islamic jurisprudential frameworks regarding financial responsibility (nafkah). The central aim is to reconceptualise nafkah in Islamic legal discourse, critically examine the impact of Javanese cultural paradigms on women’s social positioning, and advocate for a more contextually nuanced and inclusive Islamic legal framework that accurately reflects the lived experiences of Muslim women in Java. Employing a qualitative methodology that integrates textual analysis, in-depth field interviews, and the theoretical lenses of individual resilience, maqāṣid al-shariah, and mubādalah (reciprocity), the research elucidates the extraordinary social and spiritual resilience displayed by priyayi women as they navigate patriarchal stigma and the complexities of dual economic responsibilities. Cultural constructs such as nrimo (acceptance) and laku spiritual (spiritual practice) are not merely passive acquiescence but are reframed as adaptive strategies consonant with the values of maṣlaḥah (public welfare) and iḥsān (moral excellence). Drawing upon these insights, the study advocates for a contextual reconstruction of gender roles in Islamic law, anchored in three foundational principles: reciprocity (mubādalah), public benefit (maṣlaḥah), and cultural contextuality. Ultimately, the article argues that Javanese female breadwinners should not be seen as anomalies within Islamic tradition, but rather as living manifestations of justice, equality, and humanistic values, situated within an evolving, culturally embedded understanding of Islam.
