Abstract

Background :    Water  is  the  most  important  substance  in  life. About  three  quarters  of  our  body  consists  of  water  and  no person can  survive more than 4-5 days without drinking water. Water is used for cooking, washing, bathing, and cleaning waste. around  the  house.  Water  is  also  used  for  industrial  purposes, agriculture,  fire  fighting,  recreation,  transportation,  and  others. Water   can   spread   and   transmit   disease   to   humans.   These conditions   can   certainly   cause   disease   outbreaks.   can   be separated   from   human   life.   Clean   water   contaminated   with Escherichia coli bacteria is one of the causes of diarrheal disease. Purpose: The purpose   study   is   to   know   relationship   of wastewater  channel and  Escherichia  Coli  Levels  In  Wells,  Durin Simbelang Village, Pancur Batu District. Method: This  study  used  an  analytical  survey  method  with  a cross   sectional   design   using   simple   random   sampling.   The number of samples is 30 dug wells and statistical analysis using Chi square test. Results:  There  is  53.3%  of wastewater  channel with  high contamination  risk  and  56.7%  of  dug  wells  contaminated  with Escherichia  coli  bacteria.  From  the  statistical  results,  it  was found   that   there   was   a   relationship   between   sanitation   in wastewater channel(p value 0.269) with E.Coli content. Conslusion:  the  advice  given  by  the  researcher  is  that  if  it  is used  as  drinking  water,  it  should  be  boiled  until  it  boils,  giving disinfectant to dug wells to make it safer to use for hygiene and sanitation needs.

Abstract

Background: Several types of basic immunizations are given when babies require a booster dose to increase their immunity, one of which is through the provision of follow-up immunizations at the age of 18 months. Nationally, one of the booster immunization programs is the measles booster immunization. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media on the knowledge and attitudes of mothers of infants 0-24 months about giving measles booster immunization in the Hutapaung Health Center Work Area. Method: This research is a quantitative research in the form of pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The population of this study were all mothers who had babies 0-24 months (baduta) and 180 people had not done measles booster immunization to their children. The sampling technique in this study was using a random sampling technique using the Slovin formula as many as 64 people, then to determine the number of mothers under the age of five who were sampled in each village, the proportional stratified random sampling technique was used. The research instrument used a questionnaire sheet. Results:  The results obtained p-value = 0.000 for both the knowledge variable and the attitude variable. Discussion and Conclusion: The conclusion is that there is an effect of audio-visual media on the knowledge and attitudes of mothers of infants 0-24 months about giving measles booster immunization. So it is necessary to develop health counseling activities both outside the building and inside the building using audio-visual media in order to improve the knowledge and attitudes of mothers for the better.

Abstract

Purpose:Snacks are food and drinks processed by food craftsmen at the point of sale or served as ready-to-eat food that will be sold to the public. The importance of information about snacks because children often consume snacks and parents and children's knowledge about healthy snacks is still lacking. Snacks function as the main food or snacks for children and nutritional intake for children. The general objective of the study was to determine the effect of health promotion using poster media on students' knowledge and attitudes about healthy snacks at SD Shanto Thomas 2 Medan City in 2024. Method: This study uses a quantitative Method. This type of research is a quasi experiment where the design form used is one group pre-test and post-test. This research will be conducted at SD Shanto Thomas 2 Medan City. The sample in this study used the total population technique in SD Shanto Thomas 2 Medan City as many as 102 people. The research variables are knowledge and attitude Results: The results showed that the average knowledge of students before being given health promotion using poster media was 3.49 with a standard deviation of .992, while the average knowledge of students after being given health promotion using poster media about healthy snacks was 9.45 with a standard deviation of 726. The difference in the average knowledge of students before and after being given health promotion was 5.62. while after being given health promotion the average knowledge value became 9.45. The results of the study showed that the average attitude of students before being given health promotion using poster media about healthy snacks was 6.00 with a standard deviation of 1.024, while the average attitude of students after being given health promotion through poster media about healthy snacks was 9.11 with a standard deviation of 673. Disscusion and Conclusion: The difference in the average attitude of students before and after being given health promotion was 3.11. While after being given health promotion, the average attitude value of students was 6.00 to 9.11 after being given health promotion through poster media and it is expected that health promotion about snacks with the poster method will still be given.

Abstract

ISPA can be caused by three factors, namely the individual's childhood factors, behavioral factors, and environmental factors. Individual childhood factors include: child's age, birth weight, nutritional status, vitamin A, and immunization status. Behavioral factors include behavior to prevent and control CI in infants, or the active role of the family/community in fighting CI. Environmental factors include: indoor air pollution (cigarette smoke and high concentrations of cooking fuel smoke), house ventilation and residential density (Prabu, 2009). The habit of parents smoking inside the house makes babies become passive smokers who are constantly exposed to cigarette smoke. Homes with parents who have smoking habits have the opportunity to increase the incidence of ARI by 7.83 times compared to homes where parents do not smoke in the house. Meanwhile, the number of smokers in the family is quite large (Rahmayatul, 2013). Onan Hasang Medical Center that ISPA is a disease that ranks in the top 10 every year, based on this, researchers are interested in conducting research. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional design which aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and smoking with the incidence of ISPA at the Onan Hasang Health Center in 2023. The population is all mothers who have toddlers who visit the Onan Hasang Health Center. The data will be processed using a computer and presented in a narrative and tabular manner and then analyzed using univariate and bivariate. The statistical test used is the chi-square test. After conducting research, it was found that there was a relationship between smoking and nutritional status with the incidence of ARI at the Onan Hasang Health Center, for this reason it was suggested that families avoid smoking and maintain the nutritional status of their children.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a disease that has the nickname The Silent Killer, which means a silent killer, where symptoms can vary for each individual. Hypertension is grouped into essential hypertension (no known cause) and secondary hypertension (can be determined by certain symptoms). Purpose: The research objective is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in the work area of ​​the Satria Health Center, Tebing Tinggi City in 2023. Method: This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population in the study was 14,684 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with the Slovin formula as many as 100 people. Sampling was taken in accordance with the research inclusion criteria using questionnaires and direct blood pressure measurements on respondents. Results: The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between age (0.0001), gender (0.019), working status (0.028), family history of hypertension (0.021) and the incidence of hypertension. Disscusion and Conclusion: relationship between age, gender, working status, family history of hypertension, and the incidence of hypertension. It is recommended that community health centers carry out regular PTM counseling and maximize the role of health cadres.

Abstract

Background: Anemia in young women has a significant impacton the next phase of life. A decrease in productivity andachievement in learning is a short-term impact on adolescents(Nurrahman et al., 2021). Adolescent girls who experienceanemia have the risk of becoming anemic women of childbearingage, and subsequently becoming anemic pregnant women. Thiscondition will increase the risk of mothers giving birth to babieswith low birth weight (LBW), delivery complications and otherpregnancy risks. Babies born with LBW are a risk factor forstunting (Kemenkes RI, 2018).Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of educationusing media leaflets on young women's knowledge about anemiaat SMP Negeri 2 Pangururan, Samosir Regency in 2023.Method: This type of research is a quasi-experimental withcontrol two group design pretest-posttest. The population andsample in this study were female adolescents at SMP Negeri 2Pangururan, Samosir Regency totaling 69 people.Results: The results of the study after the intervention weretested by Wilcoxon and obtained p = 0.000, which means thatthere is a significant effect on the level of knowledge aboutanemia between before and after being given the intervention.Disscusion and Conclusion: relationship between age, gender,This means that leaflets about anemia at SMP Negeri 2Pangururan, Samosir Regency have proven effective and havehad a positive impact in the form of increasing knowledge ofyoung women about anemia. This study recommends that leafletmedia in learning about anemia can be used as an innovation inincreasing the knowledge of young women about anemia so thatyoung women want to take iron tablets once a week to preventanemia.
