Abstract

Famotidine is used in the treatment of gastric disease and required rapid action of drugs in application. Orally Disintegrating Tablet (ODT) dosage has a fast disintegration time, caused therapeutic effects of famotidine could occur immediately. In this study, a characteristics of ODT comparison is made with ODT diluent with spray drying methods and comparative diluent in the market. ODT diluent consisted of Avicel PH 102, xylitol, mannitol, and crospovidone (2, 3.5, 5%). ODT diluent is used for the manufacture of ODT tablets with direct compresstion method. Evaluation of diluent consisted of water content, flowcity, and compressibility test, while evaluation of ODT tablets consisted of disintegration time, dissolution, hardness, and friability to see the effect of differences crospovidone concentration. Based on the result, F III with 5% crospovidone concentration had a faster disintegration time (44.45 seconds), smaller hardness (5.68 kg / cm2) and greater friability (0.46%) than F I and F II tablets. F III tablet has a longer disintegration time (44.45 seconds) than comparable ODT tablets (33 seconds).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kurang optimalnya kegiatan Kepala Madrasah dalam mensupervisi guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan: (1) bagaimana pelaksanaan supervisi akademik oleh Kepala Madrasah, (2) bagaimana faktor pendukung kegiatan Supervisi Akademik dan hambatannya, serta (3) bagaimana peran Kepala Madrasah sebagai supervisor. Penelitian ini mengikuti model studi multi kasus, dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Berlokasi di MAN 1 Pati dan MAN 2 Pati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) pelaksanaan Supervisi Akademik meliputi tiga kegiatan, yaitu perencanaan program (b) strategi Supervisi Akademik, (c) evaluasi menggunakan instrumen penilaian baku mengacu aturan Kementerian Agama, dengan tindak lanjut memberikan penguatan dan penghargaan serta pembinaan dan pelatihan. (2) Faktor-faktor pendukung meliputi jadwal supervisi akademik, kesediaan guru  disupervisi, sikap guru senior yang kooperatif, kelengkapan administrasi pembelajaran, kontinyuitas pelaksanakan  Supervisi Akademik. Faktor-faktor penghambat terdiri dari keterbatasan waktu Kepala Madrasah dan guru, beban guru mengajar yang tidak sesuai dengan latar belakang Pendidikan (3) Peran Kepala Madrasah sebagai Supervisor memiliki kompetensi:  merencanakan program, melaksanakan dan melakukan evaluasi serta menindaklanjuti hasil Supervisi Akademik.This research is motivated by the less optimal activities of the Madrasah Head in supervising teachers. This study aims to answer the problem:(1) how the implementation of academic supervision by the Head of Madrasa (2) how the factors supporting Academic Supervision activities and their obstacles, and (3) how the role of the Madrasah Head as a supervisor. This research follows a multi-case study model, with a descriptive qualitative approach. Located in MAN 1 Pati and MAN 2 Pati. The results showed: (1) Implementation of Academic Supervision includes three activities, namely: (a) program planning, (b) Academic Supervision strategy, and (c) evaluation using standard assessment instruments referring to the rules of the Ministry of Religion, with follow-up giving reinforcement and appreciation as well as coaching and training. (2) Supporting factors include the schedule of academic supervision, the willingness of supervised teachers, fellow teaching professions, the attitude of the cooperative senior teachers, completeness of the administration of learning, continuity of the Madrasah Head in carrying out Academic Supervision. The inhibiting factors consist of the limited time of the Madrasah Head and the teacher, the burden of the teacher teaching that is not following the educational background. (3) The Role of the Madrasah Head as a Supervisor has competence: planning programs, implementing and evaluating, and following up on Academic Supervision results. Implementation of Academic Supervision includes three activities, namely: (a) program planning, (b) Academic Supervision strategy by setting targets focused (c) evaluation using standard assessment instruments. (2) Supporting factors. (3) The Role of the Madrasah Head as a Supervisor has competence.

Abstract

Abstract The students at the Minhajusshobirin Islamic Boarding School have produced a wuluh start fruit drink. Their drink has a high sugar content, so it cannot be consumed by diabetics. In addition, the product has not been certified, so it cannot be marketed widely. The purpose of this Community Service Program is to provide training for students to 1) Improve the skills of the students in good processed food production methods (good manufacturing practices/GMP), especially in producing wuluh star fruit drinks, 2) Increase the competitiveness of wuluh star fruit drink products by using sweeteners, low calories using stevia, and 3) Product stability test facilitation. The methods used in this activity included: licensing, surveys, counselling, training, laboratory testing, coaching, monitoring-evaluation, and publication of activity results. Measuring tools to assess the increase in knowledge and skills of students in the application of GMP in making low-calorie drinks are through questionnaires and direct surveys, as well as through product stability tests according to SNI 3719: 2014 standards in the QLab laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Pancasila. Training and supervision on GMP for processed food on sanitation and hygiene parameters have been given by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Pancasila. The quality assessment of the low-calorie drinks produced can be seen from the increase in product stability time of the test results in the laboratory. The pre-test and post-test results showed an increase in student understanding by 18.24%, which can be concluded that the training was effective. This activity is expected to be useful as an entrepreneurial provision for students when they serve in the community. Keywords: Universitas Pancasila, GMP, wuluh starfruit

Abstract

Red pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peel has secondary metabolites such as phenolics, flavonoids, and tannins which are known to have antioxidant potential. The purpose of this study was to see the comparison of antioxidant activity of juice before and after fermentation and then formulated into a gel preparation that is physically and chemically stable. Red pomegranate peel juice was dried by freeze drying method and then fermented with Lactobacillus plantarum ATCC 8014 bacteria and measured OD600, pH, and antioxidant activity using DPPH reagent. The results showed that pomegranate peel juice before fermentation had strong antioxidant activity with a value (of IC50 35.64 ± 0.68 ppm) and after fermentation, it was in the very strong category (IC50 8.00 ± 0.01 to 8.11 ± 0.06 ppm); pH before and after (3.96 ± 0.02 and 3.33 ± 0.01). Formula II with juice concentration of 300 x IC50 has the highest antioxidant activity with IC50 values ​​(64.37 ± 1.13 ppm); pH (6.33); spreadability (6.20 ± 0.07); and viscosity (31333.3 ± 577.35 dPas). There was an increase in antioxidant activity of red pomegranate peel juice after fermentation, the resulting gel is physically and chemically stable based on the results of accelerated stability tests for 4 weeks .

Abstract

Numerous hair care products are currently available in the market, including shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, hair serum, and hair tonic. Unlike shampoo, hair tonic remains in contact with the scalp for a longer duration, potentially enhancing its effectiveness. Apium graveolens L (EDS) and a combination of Tussilago Farfara flowers, Achillea Millefolium L leaves, and Cinchona Succirubra L stems, marketed as ATG, are known for their hair growth-promoting properties. This study aimed to evaluate the hair growth efficacy, stability, and safety of a hair tonic formulated from EDS and ATG extracts. The prepared extract solution was applied to the shaved backs of male New Zealand rabbits, aged 4 months and weighing 2.5-3 kg, and observations were recorded on days 7, 14, 21, and 28. Parameters measured included hair length and weight. The results indicated that the F1 formulation yielded an average hair length of 9.89 mm and weight of 49.38 mg; F2, 10.36 mm and 49.5 mg; F3, 11.98 mm and 49.5 mg; F4, 17.44 mm and 60.63 mg; F5, 17.27 mm and 52.75 mg; and F6, 19.06 mm and 56.5 mg. Conclusively, the F6 formulation demonstrated the most significant results, with an average hair length of 19.06 mm and weight of 56.5 mg. The hair tonic formulation was found to be non-irritating to the skin and remained stable throughout the study.

Abstract

The peel of red pomegranates (Punica granatum L.) contains gallic acid and ellagic acid, which inhibit tyrosinase, an enzyme that aids melanin formation. This study aimed to determine how variations in the concentration of kaolin base affected the evaluation outcomes of mud mask formulations containing P. granatum fruit peel extract. P. granatum fruit peel extract was used in 3 formulas with variations in the kaolin base concentration of 19.5%, 22.5%, and 26.3%. The three formulations were subsequently evaluated through a series of procedures, which included organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, viscosity, pH measurements, and drying time. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was employed to determine the inhibitory activity of the tyrosinase enzyme. Formula 2 gives the best results with the characteristics of having a distinctive odor and thick brownish-green color, homogeneous preparation, spreadability of 20.5863 cm2, a viscosity of 16040 cPs; pH of 5.86, and drying time of 16.67 minutes. Inhibition of the tyrosinase enzyme by kojic acid, extracts, and preparations resulted in respective IC50 values of 31.64 μg/mL, 155.49 μg/mL, and 276.15 μg/mL. The results of the viscosity test, pH test, and mask drying time were significantly different as the concentration of the kaolin base varied (p<0.05).

Abstract

Microalgae (Spirulina platensis) belongs to the family Cyanobacteria contains phycocyanin which is efficacious as a tyrosinase inhibitor. The purpose of the study was to make gel of Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) from the Microalgae extract (Spirulina platensis). Extracts were made by maceration with 70% ethanol solvent and evaluation of the enzyme tyrosinase inhibitory activity. The extract was made by NLC with solvent evaporation method and characterized which included particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). NLC extract was made into gel preparations by adding gelling agent, and evaluation included organoleptic homogeneity, viscosity and flow properties, pH, and the enzyme tyrosinase inhibitory activity. The enzyme tyrosinase inhibitory activity of Microalgae extract (Spirulina platensis) with the result IC50 in the amount of 150.22 µg/mL. Five of NLC formulas was made based on the characterization obtained the best formula is NLC formula 2, which includes particle size of 119.6 nm, polydispersity index of 0.356, zeta potential of -37.8 mV, and spherical shape. The evaluation results of the gel were semi-solid, brown, typical smell, homogeneous, viscosity of 19500 cPs, plastic thixotropic flow properties, and pH 5.06. The enzyme tyrosinase inhibitory activity of NLC gel Microalgae extract (Spirulina platensis) with the result IC50 in the amount of 173.38 µg/mL. It can be formulated into a physically and chemically stable gel preparation and has activity as a tyrosinase inhibitor.

Abstract

Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) adalah penyakit infeksi yang disebakan oleh mikroorganiseme, salah satunya adalah bakteri. Penyakit ISPA berulang dapat menyebabkan pneumonia. Perlunya dicegah keberulangan penyakit dengan terapi yang efektif. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi terkait topik penggunaan antibiotik yang tepat (DAGUSIBU) kepada masyarakat untuk meningkatkan efektivitas terapi dan mencegah resistensi antibiotik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan secara hybrid (luring di kecamatan Cinangka dan daring di Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Pancasila (FFUP). Tingkat pemahaman peserta diukur menggunakan kuisioner yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah penyuluhan. Dari sepuluh indikator masalah yang digali, terdapat tiga indikator yang memiliki nilai terendah sebelum diberikan edukasi, yaitu pengetahuan responden terkait logo antibiotik, pengertian resistensi, dan cara membuang antibiotik. Ketiga indikator ini mengalami peningkatan setelah diberikan edukasi

Abstract

Red pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) contains phenolic compounds of elagic acid as antioxidants and flavonoids and tannins as sunscreens in protecting the skin against ultra violet radiation. The aim of this study was to determine the sunscreen and antioxidant activity of red pomegranate peel extract, also the formation of its stable sunscreen lotion and to determine its SPF and antioxidant activity. Red pomegranate peel was macerated with 70% ethanol and concentrated. Antioxidant activity testing using FRAP method and determination of SPF value, spectrophotometric method was used along with Mansur equation. Lotion formulation was done by adding red pomegranate peel extract as much as 0.06% (F1); 0.12% and 0.24% (F2). The lotion preparation was evaluated for physical and chemical parameters including organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity and flow properties, lotion type, pH, spreadability, determination of SPF value and stability test using freeze and thaw method. The results showed the IC50 value of red pomegranate peel extract was 12.42 ± 0.01 bpj and the value of sunscreen activity at a concentration of 400 bpj gave an SPF value of 25.91 ± 0.01. The result of testing the physical properties showed that the lotion type was o/w, viscosity ranges from 10400 to 12000 cPs, pH test from 7.25 to 7.60, spreading power from 6.31 to 6.42 cm. The lotion was stable as there was no phase separation observed after centrifugation, freeze-thaw and thermal stress tests. For the lotion of red pomegranate peel extract showed antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 98.73 bpj (F1); 68.89 bpj (F2); 48.30 bpj (F3) and sunscreen values of 13.11 ± 0.02 (F1); 20.78 ± 0.02; 24.78 ± 0.04. It can be concluded that red pomegranate peel extract has very strong antioxidant activity and sunscreen activity with moderate protection, and can be formulated into lotion preparations with good quality parameters.

Abstract

Pengobatan diabetes melitus merupakan salah satu program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN). Insulin berperan penting dalam mengontrol kadar glukosa darah dan mencegah komplikasi jangka panjang. Terapi pengobatan penyakit diabetes melitus dilakukan seumur hidup karena kondisi ini bersifat kronis dan tidak dapat disembuhkan sepenuhnya, sehingga membutuhkan biaya pengobatan yang sangat besar. Salah satu aspek penting dalam pengelolaan diabetes melitus adalah mempertimbangkan apakah biaya yang dikeluarkan memberikan hasil yang maksimal bagi pasien. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas biaya INA-CBG penggunaan terapi kombinasi insulin rapid acting dengan insulin long acting terapi kombinasi insulin. Usia pasien berkisar antara 18 - >65 tahun. Efektivitas terapi diukur berdasarkan nilai gluk. Metode yang digunakan merupakan penelitian non eksperimental deskriptif dengan pengambilan data menggunakan pendekatan retrospektif melalui penelusuran rekam medis pasien. Data yang digunakan meliputi data sosiodemografi, hasil laboratorium GDP, GD2PP dan HbA1C serta total biaya medis langsung selama 7 hari. 92 pasien mendapatkan gula darah puasa (GDP), Glukosa Darah 2 jam Post Prandial (GD2PP) dan HbA1C. Analisis statistika dilakukan menggunakan Microsoft Excel dengan rumus ACER dan ICER. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kombinasi insulin Aspart + insulin Glargine XR dengan nilai ACER terendah berdasarkan hasil GDP sebesar Rp 3.330,27, GD2PP sebesar Rp 3.000,88 dan HbA1C sebesar Rp 5.056,69. Nilai ICER berdasarkan hasil GDP sebesar Rp -1.982,20, GD2PP sebesar Rp -515,79 dan HbA1C sebesar Rp -836,65. Kombinasi penggunaan insulin Aspart dan insulin Glargine XR menunjukkan persentase keuntungan sebesar 3,30% dari total nilai klaim INA-CBG.
