Abstract

Several years ago since it was first found to play a role in metastasis, Kisspeptin (encoded by Kiss1) that has GPR54 cognitive receptors is known to act as a regulator to initiating reproductive factors, involving GnRH secretion in some vertebrates, including fish. However, each of the other vertebrates will express different kinds of Kisspeptin based on the types and its evolutionary line. The aims of this research is to confirm the Kiss2 type along with the GPR54 receptor on Tilapia. RNA isolation, cDNA cloning and DNA amplification was made from samples of tilapia testes. The DNA amplification result will then be sequenced by MACROGEN. Inc. The amplified results of the Kiss2, GPR54 and β-Actin (positive control) genes observed using agarose gel electrophoresis show the product size of each gene is 199 bp, 155 bp and 197 bp. Confirmation of sequencing results by the BLAST method for Kiss2, GPR54 and β-Actin genes were: 100%, 97% and 100%, respectively. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the results of each target isolated from the gonad of tilapia indicate the homology/similarity of the sample of each target nucleotide sequence with the world database sequence (gene bank).Keywords: Kiss2, GPR54, Reproduction, Nile Tilapia

Abstract

Nutrition value and optimum digestibility of feed formulation can support fish growth out. However, most common constraint is low fish growth out caused by feeding that contain high energy but cannot be digested by fish. Papaya is one of producing papain enzyme (protease) which capable of increasing digestibility and feed protein absorption that impact to enhancing fish growth out. The aim of this research is to find out effectiveness bioenrichment of papaya fruit meal formulation for tilapia growth out performance. Research using completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. Papaya fruit meal with 0, 1.25, 1.75, 2 and 2.25 g/kg concentration of feed formulation given to tilapia during thirty days period. The results showed that, bioenrichment of papaya fruit meal 2.25g/kg became the best concentration when compared other treatments. Feed with addition of papaya fruit meal 2.25gr/kg was able to produce 29.13g of absolute weight, 7.57g spesific weight, 3.35cm absolute length, 2.22cm specific length and 1.16 point of feed convertion ratio value with 60% survival rate during treatment period. Neverthless, analysis of variance of the sixth treatments showed no significant difference from the overall parameters that was observed. Based on results it can be concluded bioenrichment of papaya fruit meal as much as 2.25g/kg of feed become the best formulation for Tilapia growth out performance. Keywords :Bioenrichment, Papaya Meal, Nile Tilapia

Abstract

Sektor wilayah pesisir pantai menjadi daya tarik berupa ekowisata di Pantai Amal Kota Tarakan. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga dan mengelola kelestarian wilayah pesisir masih menjadi problema utama dalam menjaga kelestarian wilayah pesisir pantai dengan program bersih pantai di Pantai Amal di Kota Tarakan.  Berdasarkan aksi nyata coastal clean up masyarakat Pantai amal diperoleh berbagai jenis sampai baik organik maupun anorganik. Adapun persentase kelimpahan sampah organik maupun anorganik yang diperoleh selama kegiatan coastal clean up. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat di dapatkan ada empat jenis sampah yang terdapat di Pantai Amal Lama yaitu Sampah dari warga/masyarakat setempat sebanyak 60,5kg dengan persentase sebesar 18,3% ; sampah dari wisatawan sebanyak 75,5kg dengan persentase sebesar 22,8% ; sampah dari Alam sebanyak 102kg dengan persentase sebesar 30,8% dan Sampah dari rumput laut sebanyak 93kg dengan persentase sebesar 28,1%.

Abstract

Tarakan merupakan salah satu pulau dengan komoditas budidaya rumput laut terbesar di Provinsi Kaltara. Salah satu jenis rumput laut potensial yang dihasilkan dari perairan Kota Tarakan berasal dari jenis Kappaphycus alvarezii dengan wilayah ekspor hingga ke Jepang dan Tiongkok. Namun, berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan nelayan pada tahun 2016 hingga akhir 2018 harga bahan baku rumput laut cenderung fluktuatif bahkan akhir tahun 2016 cenderung turun drastis dari Rp.16.000/kg menjadi Rp. 7.000/kg. Dalam rangka antisipasi harga rumput laut yang fluktuatif, maka perlu diupayakan suatu usaha hilirisasi guna meningkatkan nilai daya jual rumput laut dipasaran. Salah satu bentuk hilirisasi adalah dengan mengolah rumput laut menjadi olahan sambal banjar. Proses pendampingan dilakukan selama proses hilirisasi pengolahan sambal banjar rumput laut, seperti: penerapan teknologi mesin dalam mengolah sambal banjar rumput laut, pengenalan informasi terkait nilai persentase Angka Kecukupan Gizi (AKG) dan pengeambangan desain kemasan dalam rangka promosi dan menarik minat konsumen.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the growth and survival rate occurs in the catfish larvae after being given a different kind of natural feed. This research uses 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The fish test is used the catfish larvae 4 days old. Natural feed is include Tubifex sp. Moina sp, egg yolk and Commercial feed as fodder for control. The feeding is done 3 times a day in adlibitum. Parameters measured were weight and length growth, survival rate as well as several water quality parameters. The data have been obtained during the study, then analyzed statistically. The results of this research showed the highest weight growth of catfish in a row is the A of (0.166±0.015 gr) and treatment B (0.159±0.015 gr) further treatment C (0.143±0.015 gr) and then treatment D (control), namely (0.151gr ± 0.015 gr). Average of the highest length growth of a row are on treatment A (27.8±3 mm). Followed by treatment B (26.1±3 mm), further treatment C is (19.4±3 mm) and the lowest length growth in treatment D (Control), (15.9±3 mm). And the highest survival rate of catfish was in treatment A (38.55±13.48%), and treatment B (31.77±13.36%), then treatment C (28.88±13.19%) and the lowest survival rates in treatment D (25.11±13.00%). Keywords: Catfish, Natural Feed, Growth Out

Abstract

The production and demand of tilapia (O. niloticus) in some countries continue to increase but are not matched by good growth quality. Several methods have been used to increase growth, such as the use of synthetic hormones and radiation, however, the methods require such a high cost. Thus it needs to be investigated the potential replacement with natural prooduct. Papaya leaf contains papain enzyme thought to be able to improve the growth performance of fish body weight through the conversion of proteins into amino acids. The purpose of this study was to investigate the growth performance of tilapia (O. niloticus) fish that were given papaya meal (C. papaya) treatments. The concentrations pellet with papaya meal respectively T1(feed with 0 grams of papaya leaf meal), T2 (administration of papaya leaf meal with 1.25 g/kg feed), T3 (administration of papaya leaf meal with 1.75 g/kg feed), T4 (administration of papaya leaf meal with 2 g/kg feed), T5 (administration of papaya leaf meal with 2.25 g/kg feed). Parameters analyzed included: absolute length growth, absolute weight, specific growth rate, FCR survival rate and, water quality. The results showed that the highest weight growth of tilapia fed with the administration of papaya leaf meal was found at T4 of 21.23 grams. In the specific weight, the optimal treatment was found in T4 with a percentage of 20.97%. In the length growth of tilapia, it was known that the T1, T4 and T5 had highest lengths when compared to other treatments and the highest survival rate of tilapia (O. niloticus) was in the T2, T3, T5 treatments of 73%. The optimal FCR value was found in the T4 treatment of 1.14.
