Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang berfokus pada melakukan perancangan buklet untuk apresiasi Seni ukir kayu tradisional Toraja bagi siswa sekolah menengah tingkat atas di Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Adapun pertanyaan penelitian untuk fase perancangan ini adalah: Bagaimana merancang buklet tentang seni ukir kayu tradisional Toraja berbasis kebutuhan peserta didik yang valid dalam hal isi, kebahasaan, dan kegrafikaan? Sumber data penelitian ini adalah karya seni ukir kayu Toraja, bahan pustaka yang relevan dengan perancangan bahan ajar, dan ahli pembelajaran dan guru sebagai validator. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah: (1) studi pustaka untuk mendapatkan informasi yang relevan dengan bahan ajar yang dirancang, (2) observasi dan dokumentasi untuk keperluan ilustrasi bahan ajar; (3) review ahli pembelajaran dan guru sekolah menengah. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dalam rangka menghasilkan produk yang merupakan luaran penelitian ini yakni buklet yang berjudul “Mengenal Seni Ukir Kayu Toraja.” Buklet ini sebagaimana yang dibutuhkan oleh peserta didik adalah tidak terlalu tebal, berisi hal esensial, dan format buku berupa kertas ukuran Quarto dengan ilustrasi yang jelas dan menarik, serta sampul multiwarna berupa paperback.  Rancangan buklet tersebut ketebalan 32 halaman, memiliki isi sebagai berikut: (1) Bagian awal yang terdiri atas halaman sampul, pengantar, pendahuluan, dan daftar isi; (2) Bagian inti yang terdiri atas enam unit yakni passura,’keunikan dan fungsi; mitos dan ritual; motif hias; pembuatan; lokasi produksi; dan pengukir; Pada Bagian inti ini dimuat 21 buah ilustrasi berupa foto dan gambar. (3) Bagian akhir yang terdiri atas referensi dan biodata singkat penulis. Mengingat penelitian ini barulah merupakan fase prancangan, maka disarankan kepada semua pihak yang telah terlibat dalam penelitian ini tetap memberikan dukungannya bagi pelaksanaan penelitian tahap berikutnya.   Kata Kunci: Bahan ajar, apresiasi seni rupa, seni ukir kayu tradisional, Toraja Utara

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mendorong dan mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan kepribadian Muhlis Lugis dalam berkesenian grafis cukil kayu serta bagaimana modal (sumber daya) dan habitus yang dimiliki Muhlis Lugis mampu mendukung perjuangan berkesenian grafis cukil kayu Muhlis Lugis pada arena persaingan sosial seni dalam mempertahankan eksistensinya di medan sosial seni Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa beberapa faktor yang mendorong dan mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan kepribadian Muhlis Lugis dalam berkesenian grafis cukil kayu yaitu: (1)pembentukan habitus melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai spiritual, moral, budaya, kepemimpinan, serta nilai sosial, kolaborasi dan partisipasi proyek artistik dalam kehidupan Muhlis, (2)sumber daya (modal) yang menunjang dalam praktik berkesenian grafis cukil kayu seperti keterampilan berkesenian cukil kayu, legitimasi akademik, jaringan sosial yang dibangun Muhlis, dan legitimasi sosial melalui kolaborasi dengan galeri bergengsi baik nasional dan internasional, (3) serta bagaimana modal (sumber daya) dan habitus yang dimiliki Muhlis Lugis mampu mendukung perjuangan berkesenian grafis cukil kayu Muhlis Lugis pada arena persaingan sosial seni dalam mempertahankan eksistensinya serta mengukuhkan posisinya dalam sejarah perjalanan seni grafis di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan sosiologis Pierre Bourdieu dengan metode studi kasus untuk melakukan penelitian yang terinci terkait Muhlis Lugis selama kurun waktu tertentu.Keywords: Muhlis Lugis, Pierre Bourdieu, Produksi Sosial Seni, Seni Grafis

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the accuracy of the concept of art teaching materials in the Cultural Arts book for Junior High Schools, (2) the accuracy of the pictures to explain the concept of art teaching materials in the Cultural Arts book for Junior High Schools. The focus of the study is the accuracy of the concepts and the accuracy of the pictures of art teaching materials in the Cultural Arts book for Junior High Schools. The subject of the research was the Cultural Arts book for Junior High Schools, which was published by the Ministry of National Education, Revised Edition, 2017. Data collection techniques used were observation, FGD, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive analysis model. The results showed that there were some misconceptions in art teaching materials in the Cultural Arts Book for Junior High Schools, including ambiguous definitions, incomplete material and incompatible with fine arts theory, causing confusion for students. In addition, some of the images used to clarify the concept are incorrect, not even in accordance with the theme to be explained. As a result, the image does not function as an explanatory concept / material, but instead instead obscures the concept

Abstract

This study focuses on developing teaching materials for appreciating traditional Toraja wood carving art for senior high school students in North Toraja Regency. The teaching material is presented in a booklet titled Getting to Know Toraja Wood Carving Art, aimed at testing its practicality and effectiveness. The subjects of this study were 20 senior high school students who agreed to participate in the trial use of the booklet. The participants consisted of 13 students from Senior High Schools (SMA) and 7 students from Vocational High Schools (SMK). The collected data were analyzed with the following results: (1) The Getting to Know Toraja Wood Carving Art booklet was effective in teaching Senior High School (SMA) students but not yet effective for Vocational High School (SMK) students; (2) The booklet was considered practical as a learning resource for both SMA and SMK students; (3) The booklet is deemed suitable for broader trials with SMA students. However, for SMK students, the booklet needs revision. It is recommended that relevant authorities facilitate follow-up actions related to the Getting to Know Toraja Wood Carving Art booklet.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) Describe the tools and materials used in weaving. (2) Describe bebet woven motifs in the Sasak tribe community. (3) Describing the classification of the use of bebet weaving in the Sasak tribe community. (4) Describing the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process of making bebet weaving. Data collection instruments using documentation, observation and interview techniques. Data obtained from observations, interviews and documentation were then re-analysed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the ornamental variety in the Sasak Ende Tribe of Central Lombok has its own characteristics and in the manufacturing process did not encounter significant difficulties. This research concludes that: The decorative motifs of bebet woven fabric produced by craftsmen in Ende hamlet include: (1) (2) traditional ornamental motifs that are modified (combining colours, lines, polygonal motif elements and geometric motifs). (3) The use of bebet in the Sasak Ende tribe can be used at nyongkolan or sorong serah aji kerame events, Gendang beleq (large drum) performances and Peresean events. (4) Supporting factors in the weaving activities of craftsmen in Ende hamlet include: equipment that is still available in homes, as a material to meet the needs of life because it can be of economic value. The inhibiting factors in weaving activities include: lack of skilled labour in transferring more diverse ornamental motifs on bebet cloth, limited capital and funds allocated to weaving activities that should continue to be developed.
