Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The family is a fundamental pillar in the development of civilization. In Islam, the concept of a sakinah (tranquil) family represents an ideal goal, grounded in spiritual, social, and legal values. This study aims to identify and formulate the criteria for a sakinah family based on the perspective of the Shafi’i school of thought. Using a library research approach, the study examines primary sources such as classical Shafi’i jurisprudence texts and relevant scholarly literature. The findings show that the Shafi’i school emphasizes the importance of a valid marriage contract, balance in the rights and responsibilities of husband and wife, proper child upbringing, respectful communication, and spiritual orientation within the household. These criteria reflect a holistic integration of moral values, Islamic law, and social needs. Although formulated in a medieval context, the principles of the Shafi’i school remain applicable in addressing contemporary challenges, such as domestic conflict, imbalance in family roles, and communication breakdowns. This research contributes significantly to the academic discourse on sakinah families and provides practical guidance for Muslims in Indonesia to build harmonious families in accordance with Islamic teachings

Abstract

Elderly residents in nursing homes are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety that reduces their quality of life. Butterfly Hug was chosen as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce that anxiety. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Butterfly Hug on the elderly at Panti Werdha Marfati. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 30 elderly individuals at Panti Werdha Marfati was selected through purposive sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The measurement of anxiety levels was conducted using the Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS) questionnaire before and after the Butterfly Hug intervention. The intervention was given for 30 minutes, followed by a re-measurement after 3 days. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T Test to determine the effect of the Butterfly Hug on elderly anxiety. Research Results: The results of the Paired Sample T Test showed a significant decrease in anxiety scores from an average of 42.60 to 25.03 with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The Butterfly Hug intervention proved effective in reducing anxiety levels among the elderly at Panti Werdha Marfati, as evidenced by a significant decrease in anxiety scores after the therapy was administered. It is recommended that the Butterfly Hug be used as a routine non-pharmacological method in the elderly care program at the nursing home to enhance psychological well-being. Further research with a control group design to make it stronger and with a larger sample size.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the slope stability and behavior of expansive clay soil at the underpass site located at KM 41+00 of the Bypass Mandalika road using a numerical simulation approach with PLAXIS 2D software. The study area is characterized by flat geomorphology with a slope inclination of less than 40.3° and surface geology consisting of expansive clay deposits from alluvium, which exhibit significant shrink-swell behavior due to moisture variation. A geotechnical investigation was conducted using hand auger drilling to a depth of 2 meters, followed by laboratory testing to determine physical and mechanical soil properties such as moisture content, specific gravity, cohesion, and internal friction angle. These parameters were then used as input data for the numerical modeling. Simulations were performed under two conditions: existing conditions and post-consolidation after four years under a 20-ton vehicular load. The results indicated that vertical deformation increased from 5.06 mm to 10.74 mm, while horizontal deformation rose from 7.05 mm to 15.46 mm. The slope safety factor improved from 1.39 to 1.59 after consolidation, indicating that the slope remains stable. However, periodic monitoring and potential slope reinforcement are recommended to ensure long-term stability, especially under conditions of heavy rainfall or high traffic loads.
