Abstract

This article examines the founder of the Muhammadiyah, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan (1869–1923) and the reformation of Islamic education he had proclaimed as an attempt to abolish all feudalism force in society towards a realistic and democratic modern society. The clerical reformist, K. H. Ahmad Dahlan played an essential role and was the key for the improvement and the reawakening of Muslim society so as to abandon the rooted feudal cultural practice. This article first discuss the childhood of K. H. Ahmad Dahlan and his education. The article then discusses the socio-cultural context of feudalist Muslim society within his neighborhood. Then, the article also discusses the Islamic education reformation proclaimed by K. H. Ahmad Dahlan referring to his notion on Islamic education reformation, his view on the relation between religion and mind, as well as his political view.

Abstract

Technology has evolved so rapidly, one of the contents which are currently popular on social media is the meme. Meme, which was initially for humor, continues to develop into a platform for critical media to distribute knowledge. Historical themes become interesting things to inform through a meme. Meme readers can find historical details through a meme, which makes history themes exciting, so the history teaching process can use memes as a learning medium. The aims of this study are (1) to explore the perceptions of the meme as history learning media; (2) to organize meme parameters that can be used as history learning media; (3) to choose meme content that can be used as history learning media. This study uses a qualitative analysis method with a case study approach as developed by Robert K. Yin. The data in this study were collected from in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation study. The data analysis methodology, meanwhile, uses the model of Creswell. This study took ten samples using the purposive sample from History Education students of FKIP-UHAMKA from semesters 3, 5, and 7. The results showed that memes have the power to be a stimulus for their readers to find out more information. Due to the nature of meme that tends to contain jokes, it makes them easy to read. Using memes as a learning tool allows teachers or lecturers to intersperse the historical learning process while still presenting historical facts in an event. Therefore, history learning can be successful and exciting.Teknologi mengalami perkembangan yang begitu cepat, salah satunya adalah media sosial dengan kontennya yang sedang populer adalah meme. Meme yang awalnya hanya berupa penyampaian humor, kini terus berkembang menjadi media penyampaian informasi hingga media kritik. Tema sejarah menjadi hal yang menarik diinformasikan melalui media sosial yang disebut meme. Para pembaca meme dapat mengetahui info kesejarahan, sehingga  dapat digarisbawahi bahwa meme dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk membantu dalam proses pembelajaran sejarah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) menelaah persepsi penggunaan meme sebagai media pembelajaran sejarah; (2)  menyusun kriteria meme yang bisa digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran sejarah; (3) untuk menyeleksi konten meme yang bisa digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang dikembangkan Robert K. Yin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan  dan studi dokumentasi. Sementara itu, teknik analisis data menggunakan model Creswell. Sampel penelitian ini adalah para mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah FKIP-UHAMKA menggunakan sampel bertujuan yang berjumlah 10 orang dari semester 3, 5, dan 7. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan kekuatan meme sebagai stimulus bagi para pembacanya untuk mengetahui suatu informasi dengan pembawaannya yang cenderung berisi humor atau lelucon, sehingga ringan untuk dibaca, guru/dosen dapat menyelingi proses pembelajaran sejarah dengan menggunakan meme sebagai media pembelajaran dengan tetap memberikan fakta sejarah di dalam suatu peristiwa, sehingga pembelajaran sejarah dapat berlangsung dengan baik dan menarik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali informasi dan menganalisis lebih mendalam terkait dengan inovasi layanan terpadu bagi perempuan dan anak korban tindak kekerasan sebagai bentuk kebijakan sosial Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Model inovasi layanan terpadu bagi perempuan dan anak korban tindak kekerasan dibutuhkan untuk memenuhi hak-hak korban sesuai dengan asas Hak Asasi Manusia terlebih dimasa Pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi serta dilengkapi dengan perangkat analisis Soft System Methodology. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan beberapa hal berikut. Pertama, Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta berhasil membangun kebijakan sosial dalam penanganan perempuan dan anak korban tindak kekerasan melalui berbagai bentuk regulasi perundangan tingkat daerah, pembentukan kelembagaan, pendanaan, dan penyediaan sarana prasarana dalam rangka pemenuhan hak korban yang berkeadilan. Kedua, bentuk inovasi penanganan dan pelayanan perempuan dan anak korban kekerasan masa pandemi COVID-19 dilakukan dengan protokol kesehatan dan berbasis online serta melakukan beberapa perubahan untuk memperkaya kinerja lembaga layanan. Hal ini merupakan wujud nyata implementasi kebijakan sosial Pemerintah Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta yang berpihak kepada masyarakat menuju keadilan dan kesetaraan.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between the harmonization of multicultural education perspectives with Islamic values, implement a multicultural education model based on Islamic values in sociology learning, and analyze the success of the implementation of multicultural education perspectives based on Islamic values in facing the post-truth era. This research uses a qualitative research design with a case study approach. Data was collected using in-depth interview techniques with key informants, namely the vice principal for curriculum, the sociology subject teacher of class XI IPS, and several students of class XI IPS. Observations were conducted in and outside the classroom and in several school activities and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include pattern matching, explanation making, and time series analysis. The research instrument was validated through the triangulation method and data sources. The results showed that the harmonization of Islamic values-based multicultural education perspectives at Al Azhar 4 Islamic High School is based on the principles of tolerance and equality manifested in the culture of smiles, greetings, cultural festivals, inter-school competitions, and community empowerment social services.

Abstract

Wilayah Palembang dikenal kental dengan nuansa agama Buddha, karena di wilayah tersebut pernah berkuasa Kerajaan Sriwijaya. Oleh karena itu, menarik untuk dikaji lebih lanjut terkait dengan situs-situs Buddhisme yang ada di Palembang, terutama pada masa Kerajaan Sriwijaya yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai suplemen pembelajaran sejarah. Sehingga, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan situs-situs sejarah Buddhisme yang ada di Palembang sebagai suplemen pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian sejarah dengan empat langkahnya ialah heuristis, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 12 peninggalan situs Buddhisme yang ada di Palembang, yang terdiri dari masa sebelum Kerajaan Sriwijaya dengan adanya peninggalan-peninggalan di kawasan Bukit Siguntang pada abad ke 6 dan masa Kerajaan Sriwijaya berkuasa mulai abad ke 7. Hal ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai suplemen materi pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X SMA.

Abstract

This research aims to explore further the economic history of Sriwijaya Kingdom in the VII-XIII century. This research method uses historical research approach with steps: (1) Heuristic; (2) Critic; (3) Interpretation; (4) Historiography. The results showed that Sriwijaya was a maritime kingdom that had close relations with India and China in trade. At that time the famous commodities were spices, forest products, foodstuffs, and workers or slaves. This is what makes Sriwijaya Kingdom famous as the international economy center.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelisik lebih jauh sejarah perekonomian Kerajaan Sriwijaya pada abad VII-XIII. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian sejarah atau historis dengan langkah-langkah: (1) Heuristis; (2) Kritik; (3) Interpretasi; (4) Historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sriwijaya adalah sebuah kerajaan maritim yang memiliki hubungan erat dengan India dan Tiongkok dalam perdagangan. Saat itu komoditas yang terkenal adalah rempah-rempah, hasil hutan, bahan pangan, hingga pekerja atau budak. Hal inilah yang menjadikan Kerajaan Sriwijaya terkenal sebagai pusat perekonomian internasional. KATA KUNCIKerajaan Sriwijaya, Kerajaan Maritim, Pusat Perekonomian Internasional.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe religiosity values and analyze the behavior of pilgrims to Mbah Priok's grave, the motivation of pilgrims and religiosity in relation to social studies values in social studies learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Jakarta. The method used was a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, the research subjects included three key informants consisting of the grave administrator, two pilgrims, and one social studies teacher. The research results describe the role and function of religion in human life as a source of morals, instructions for truth, and spiritual guidance. The phenomenon of grave pilgrimage is a form of religious value. Social studies subjects are subjects that originate from the social life of society which are selected using social science concepts which are used for learning purposes in schools. Furthermore, research shows (1) religious behavior displayed by grave pilgrims is performing ablution, dhikr, wearing perfume, and tawasul; (2) the motivation that pilgrims have is religious motivation and being careful in praying; and (3) the values of religiosity are related to social studies learning which is integrated between religious and scholarly values which focuses more on social phenomena. This research concludes that Mbah Priok's grave pilgrim's religiosity is related to social studies scores in learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Jakarta, reflected in the attitudes and behavior of students when praying, having to be pure, respecting, and appreciating people who have died.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the potential for ecotourism in the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village, analyze ecotourism development strategies in preserving the local wisdom of Betawi culture, analyze the impact of ecotourism development for the community in the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village, and analyze the obstacles and challenges of ecotourism development in the Betawi Cultural Village Setu Babakan. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of the research show that the development of the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village area as ecotourism is a model for preserving Betawi culture based on the available natural environment. The potential for ecotourism in the Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village is natural resources, agro tourism, cultural tourism, water tourism, culinary tourism, and Museum Betawi. Furthermore, the strategy for developing ecotourism in preserving local Betawi cultural wisdom is to collaborate with other parties, carry out promotions, and procure typical Betawi plants. Meanwhile, the impact for the community is to increase people's income and learn Betawi cultural values and local wisdom. The challenges faced are the independence of the area so that it does not depend on the regional government, efforts to attract visitors through various media, and ways to make Betawi culture loved by the community, while the obstacles are budget problems from the government, the perception of the Betawi community as an ethnic group that is not advanced, and that it is not easy to collaboration with other parties.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai kearifan lokal pada permainan tradisional etnik Betawi sebagai penguatan karakter melalui mata pelajaran PLBJ Kelas IV SDN Pondok Kelapa 01. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah tokoh etnik Betawi, kepala sekolah, guru, dan peserta didik SDN Pondok Kelapa 01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etnik Betawi memiliki berbagai permainan tradisional yang bersifat mendidik. Permainan tradisional etnik Betawi di antaranya adalah Kuda Bisik dan Cici Putri.  Permainan tradisional etnik Betawi tersebut mengandung nilai-nilai karakter seperti kerja sama, kejujuran, sportivitas, tanggung jawab, dan persahabatan. Upaya penanaman nilai-nilai kearifan lokal melalui permainan tradisional tersebut dilakukan dengan cara mengintegrasikannya ke dalam mata pelajaran PLBJ yang merupakan mata pelajaran muatan lokal pada jenjang SD di seluruh wilayah Jakarta.

Abstract

Gender discrimination remains a contentious issue in Indonesian society. A misunderstanding of gender equality is one of the main causes. The utilization of local wisdom as an effort to provide understanding and uphold gender equality is one effective option. This research aims to explore gender equality in one of the local wisdoms of the Sikka Krowe ethnic, specifically in the customary marriage rituals. This research is a type of qualitative study utilizing an ethnographic approach. Data collection in this research utilizes interview and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the traditional marriage rituals of the Sikka Krowe ethnic uphold gender equality in community life. Men and women in their roles as husband and wife in a household have complementary roles. The attitude of mutual respect is also emphasized in the customary expressions within the belis ritual. Thus, the ritual is very worthy of being preserved by the Sikka Krowe ethnic from one generation to the next.
