Abstract

The independence policy is a hot topic in the world of education. The premise that learning exists is carried out in the preparation of university graduates, both public and private, to meet the modern-day and rapid change challenges. Independent learning is a notion that aspires to excel from graduates as future leaders with an increasing number of personalities. Independent programs provide students with independence and flexibility to develop their potential through their hobbies and talents. This study will first examine the format of the eight Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs (MBKM) featured in the Merdeka Independent Campus Free Book released by the Ministry of Education and Culture's Directorate General Higher Education (Published in 2020). Second, a variant of MBKM that was adopted in the Odd and Even semesters of the 2020/2021 Academic Year at a university in Aceh's Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The findings indicated that there were eight Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs, including the following: 1) student exchange, 2) internship/work experience, 3) teaching in educational institutions, 4) village projects, 5) research, 6) entrepreneurial activities, 7) independent studies, and 8) humanitarian projects. The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education has run a student exchange program with another university, a teaching assistant program in educational institutions, and a program to build villages/thematic lectures for students and lecturers who passed the selection process for a grant program called "Kampus Mengajar."

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are included in the ten skills needed in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Students are trained to be able to analyze problems and find solutions from various sources. To enhance the critical thinking skills of students, activities that can be developed are needed, namely through authentic learning, one of which is designing an eco-brick social campaign to overcome plastic waste. Authentic learning activities are in the form of real-world relevance, multiple sources and perspectives, collaboration, reflection, ill-defined problems, and sustained investigation. The quasi-experimental method was used in this study, with the research subjects being 62 students in one of the East Jakarta Junior High Schools in grades 7F and 7H. The data analysis technique in this study was to analyse the results of validity, normality, homogeneity, and independent t-test using SPSS 20 as a statistical tool. According to the research results, it was found that the difference in the average critical thinking ability between groups of students, experiment class with authentic learning treatment revealed 80.73% and control class showed 70.37%. A large number of students have difficulty in critical thinking, namely in the aspect of explaining reasons. Meanwhile, in designing eco-brick social campaigns, the experimental class is in a pretty good category, so it can be revealed that students can build critical thinking skills in solving problems through authentic learning to design eco-brick social campaigns and it is suggested that the different contents in the form of authentic learning in creating social campaigns can be developed.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is that students' curiosity can be increased by using guided inquiry models assisted by ICT. In learning science, one of the things that must be improved is curiosity. Curiosity is a person's desire for information and knowledge, as well as the sensation of new experiences to be able to motivate behavior in finding out the true truth. The curiosity measured in this study, such as the desire of students to explore for new information, the desire to find a new concept or theory by applying the knowledge they have, and someone's desire to find out if there is a conflict between what is believe inversely proportional with what is reality. This study used a one group pretest posttest design and used a quantitative approach. The sample in this study was 63 fifth semester students of biology education at the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka Jakarta, Indonesia. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis using descriptive quantitative. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the ICT-assisted guided inquiry model is more effective in increasing student curiosity. The application of technology-based inquiry is important in improving student Curiosity to make science learning more meaningful, effective, and efficient.

Abstract

Many previous researchers have indeed done research related to scientific literacy. However, few studies discuss scientific literacy related to the context of the COVID-19 virus on biological materials. The goal of this study is to find out how well students understand science in the context of the COVID-19 virus. The descriptive quantitative research method was applied. The sample consisted of 107 students from class XI science at a Madrasah Aliyah in Tangerang Selatan. The results showed the students' scientific literacy ability with an average percentage of 75.65% with good interpretation. Scientific literacy tested are 73.89% contextual aspects with sufficient interpretation, knowledge aspects, 75.29% with adequate interpretations, 75.47% competence aspects with sufficient interpretations, and 84.35% with good interpretations. The study concludes that students in class XI science can comprehend scientific literacy in the context of a current scientific occurrence, namely, the COVID-19 virus. The findings have implications for how teachers can develop students' scientific literacy skills by providing contextual examples of the COVID-19 virus so that students understand it and apply it in everyday life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Curiosity mahasiswa pada matakuliah Anatomi Fisiologi Manusia melalui pengembangan model Inkuiri Terbimbing berbantuan IT. Research and Development (R & D) merupakan desain penelitian, dengan menggunakan model Borg & Gall (1983) yang terdiri dari sepuluh langkah dalam Research and Development (R & D), yaitu (1) Melakukan pengumpulan informasi; (2) Melakukan  perancangan (merumuskan tujuan penelitian, memperkirakan waktu yang diperlukan, prosedur kerja penelitian); (3) Mengembangkan bentuk produk awal (perancangan draf awal produk); (4) Melakukan ujicoba lapangan permulaan; (5) Melakukan revisi terhadap produk utama; (6) Melakukan ujicoba lapangan utama; (7) Melakukan revisi terhadap uji lapangan utama; (8) Melakukan uji lapangan operasional; (9) Melakukan revisi terhadap produk akhir; (10) Mendesiminasikan dan mengimplementasikan produk. Penelitian tentang KPS hasil analisis Keterampilan Proses Sains mahasiswa menunjukkan adanya peningkatan selama penerapan model Inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan ICT dalam proses pembelajaran. Peningkatan terjadi pada setiap aspek keterampilan proses sains yang meliputi mengamati atau observasi, mengelompokkan atau klasifikasi, meramalkan atau prediksi, inferensi, berhipotesis, interpretasi data, merencanakan percobaan, dan berkomunikasi.Keyword: Inkuiri Terbimbing, Curiosity, dan Anatomi Fisiologi Manusia

Abstract

Aloksan merupakan bahan kimia yang digunakan untuk menginduksi diabetes pada hewan model hiperglikemik. Pemberian aloksan adalah cara yang cepat untuk menghasilkan kondisi diabetik eksperimental (hiperglikemik) pada hewan percobaan. Peningkatan kadar glukosa darah terjadi karena jaringan menyerap glukosa dari darah dan menyimpannya dalam bentuk glikogen. Saat kadar glukosa darah meningkat, sel β pankreas terangsang untuk mensekresi hormon insulin sehingga kadar glukosa darah menurun. Hewan model untuk penelitian hiperglikemik menggunakan tikus Putih. Penggunaan tikus putih sebagai hewan model hiperglikemik disebabkan struktur anotomi tubuh tikus putih hampir sama dengan anatomi manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan dua perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas P1 = Tikus normoglikemik yang diberi akuades sebagai kontrol), dan P2= Tikus yang diberi 75 mg/kg BB aloksan sebagai tikus hiperglikemik selama 6 (Enam hari). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisa varian dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan pada selang kepercayaan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aloksan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kadar glukosa darah tikus hiperglikemik. Simpulan penelitian adalah pemberian aloksan sebesar 75 mg/kg BB pada tikus perlakuan dapat meningkatkan kadar glukosa darah di dalam tikus putih dan dan cocok digunakan terhadap hewan model hiperglikemik

Abstract

Abstrak: Kebiasaan sebagian guru menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang diperoleh langsung dari penerbit atau mengunduh dari internet menyebabkan menjadi kurang terkaitnya Kompetensi Dasar (KD) dalam RPP dengan sintaks pembelajaran. Sebagian guru beranggapan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang akan digunakan tidak bergantung pada model pembelajaran yang akan diterapkan, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi tidak bermakna. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk melatih guru IPA cara membuat perangkat pembelajaran (RPP dan video pembelajaran) serta melatih guru dan siswa dengan mendesain media pembelajaran pada materi Plantae dengan teknik Ecoprint. Uhamka Boarding School (UBS) Jonggol sebagai mitra dalam pengabdian ini. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 44 peserta, cara pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner menggunakan Google Forms. Hasil dari pelatihan ini dapat menambah wawasan para guru tentang STEAM, dapat memotivasi mereka untuk lebih meningkatkan keterampilannya dalam mendesain perangkat pembelajaran media pembelajaran berbasis STEAM.Abstract: The habit of some teachers using learning tools obtained directly from publishers or downloading from the internet causes the Basic Competence (KD) in RPP to be unrelated with learning syntax, teachers assume that the learning tools used are independent of the learning model to be applied, so that learning becomes meaningless. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to train science teachers on how to make learning tools (RPP and learning videos) and train teachers and students with the Ecoprint technique as a learning medium for Plantae material. Uhamka Boarding School (UBS) Jonggol as a partner in this service. The service activity was attended by 44 participants, the method of carrying out the activity consisted of three stages, the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires using Google Forms. The results of this training can add insight to teachers about STEAM, can motivate them to further improve their skills in designing STEAM-based learning media learning tools.

Abstract

Data Puspendik menunjukkan hasil UN Biologi tahun 2019 berada pada urutan kedua terendah pada tingkat nasional dengan nilai rerata 50.61 untuk SMA dengan peminatan IPA. Kondisi di lapangan, kompetensi peserta didik di Indonesia pada bidang Biologi tidak merata. SMA Muhammadiyah merupakan sekolah swasta dengan jumlah yang banyak dan fasilitas beragam memiliki peran dan posisi dalam dunia Pendidikan serta turut berkontribusi dalam menghasilkan luaran berupa nilai UN pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu untuk diketahui lebih mendalam tentang peta kompetensi peserta didik SMA Muhammadiyah khususnya pada mata pelajaran Biologi agar diperoleh data yang spesifik dan akurat untuk pengembangan proses dan hasil pembelajaran. Melalui penelitian ini dilakukan analisis kompetensi peserta didik SMA Muhammadiyah se DKI Jakarta dan Tangerang pada materi biologi UNBK tahun 2019, dan identifikasi faktor penyebab rendahnya hasil UNBK berdasarkan indikator soal UN Biologi. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Sampel penelitian yaitu peserta didik di 16 SMA Muhammadiyah wilayah Jakarta dan Tangerang yang mengikuti UNBK tahun 2019. Pemetaan kompetensi peserta didik, faktor penyebab dan analisis kebutuhan merupakan hasil dari penelitian. Nilai tertinggi pada sub materi ujian keanekaragaman hayati dan ekologi sebesar 68.65. Nilai terendah terdapat pada sub materi ujian biomolekuler dan bioteknologi sebesar 45.37. Karakteristik materi menentukan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menjawab soal. Secara umum keanekaragaman hayati merupakan materi dengan sifat konkret sedangkan biomolekuler dan bioteknologi merupakan materi yang relatif abstrak bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

The physical distancing policy implemented by the government prohibits physical meetings to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus including all activities in the educational process. The online learning system is implemented to facilitate teaching and learning activities without physical meetings between lecturers and students. This study aims to analyze online learning from the perspective of the lecturers biology education departement in courses based on pedagogical competences and scientific work skills or practicum activity. Surveys and interviews were used to obtain data with a quantitative approach. The results of the study provide information that:1) online learning still allows interactive activities in class; 2) online learning platforms are used in an integrated by lecturers; 3) WhatsApp Zoom and Google Meet are the most widely used platforms because they support synchronous and asynchronous learning; 4) practical activities are carried out using materials available at students' homes and with the help of practical tutorial videos from lecturers and virtual laboratories. Through the full online learning system for even one semester the lecturers of the biology education departement have carried out the learning process well by always providing feedback and the interactive learning between students and lecturers online with the help of various learning platforms. This study provides information about the information of full online leraning at university.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the creative thinking skills of class XI science students on the material of the respiratory system in solving problems through bold learning. This research was conducted on 32 students of class XI science at a private high school in the city of Jakartain the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The research method used is descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. Research data obtained from the test instrument. Creative thinking skills in this study are thinking skills in developing thinking skills (fluency), flexible thinking (flexibility), original thinking (originality), and elaboration thinking (elaboration). The result of the research on the students' creative thinking ability test as a whole is 42.38% which is included in the very poor category. The ability to think (fluency) of 48.83% is included in the very poor category, flexibility thinking (flexibility) of 34.90% is included in the very poor category, original thinking (originality) is 43.36% is included in the very poor category, and Think elaboration (elaboration) of 50% is included in the category of very less. These results indicate the ability of students to produce various answers to overcome problems in brave learners, including low.
