Abstract

This study aims to describe how to improve students' writing skills in Indonesian learning using the Think Talk Write (TTW) type cooperative model in grade IV of SDN 18 Air Fresh, South Padang City. This type of research is classroom action research using qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research was carried out in two cycles, with the research procedure consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are in the form of observation or observation analysis, tests and non-tests. The subjects of this study are classroom teachers as observers, researchers as practitioners or teachers, and grade IV students of SDN 18 Air Tawar Selatan Padang City totaling 17 people. The results of the study showed that the teaching module of the first cycle was obtained on average 87.45%, increasing in the second cycle to 95.83%. The results of the implementation of teacher aspect learning in the first cycle of teacher activities averaged 85.4%, increasing in the second cycle to 95.83%. The implementation of the first cycle in student activities averaged 85.4%, increasing in the second cycle of 95.83%. The learning outcomes of the first cycle of knowledge with an average of 72.94% of students and the second cycle with an average of 88.64% of students. The results of the skill assessment in the first cycle averaged 75.97%, then increased in the second cycle of 87.41%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write type cooperative model can improve the writing skills of grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

The primary issue in technology-based learning assessment is the limited ability of teachers to utilize and develop gamification methods. Most teachers still rely on manual, paper-based evaluation techniques, resulting in suboptimal integration of technology in the assessment process. This challenge necessitates further exploration by education practitioners regarding the implementation of information technology (IT) in learning, particularly for MGMP Informatics teachers. This community engagement program, titled "Development of Internet-Based Testing (IBT) Using Gamification Learning Methods", was conducted at SMPN 1 Tanah Datar. The objectives of this program were to: (1) enhance technological literacy in the education sector; (2) strengthen interest and skills in technology literacy among MGMP Informatics teachers at the junior high school level in Tanah Datar Regency; and (3) improve teachers' ability to design internet-based assessment instruments using a gamification approach. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, comprising training sessions, interactive workshops, and hands-on practice in developing internet-based assessment tools. Participants were introduced to various digital evaluation platforms, such as Google Forms, Quizizz, and Kahoot, and were trained on how to integrate gamification elements into learning assessments. The results indicated that 85% of participants showed an improvement in their understanding and skills in utilizing internet-based assessment technology. Additionally, teachers began adopting gamification methods in assessments, leading to increased student engagement in the learning process. This initiative is expected to encourage teachers to continuously develop innovative and interactive assessment methods aligned with technological advancements in education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Example Non Example Type Cooperative Learning model to improve the speaking skills of class II students of SDN 18 Air Tawar Selatan.This type of research is classroom action research using qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research was conducted in two cycles, cycle I consisting of 2 meetings and cycle II consisting of 1 meeting. Each cycle has four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were teachers and class II students totaling 23 people.The results of the cycle I teaching module research, meetings 1 and 2 obtained a percentage of 83.3% 87.5%, increasing in cycle II to 95.83%. Teacher activity in cycle I, meetings 1 and 2 obtained a percentage of 77.5% and 87.5%, increasing in cycle II to 97.5%. Student activity in cycle I, meetings 1 and 2 obtained a percentage of 77.5% and 90%, increasing in cycle II to 97.5%. The learning outcomes of student knowledge in cycle I, meetings 1 and 2 obtained an average of 75.65 and 79.56, increasing in cycle II to 88.26. The results of the skills assessment in cycle I, meetings 1 and 2 obtained an average of 78.07 and 81.62, increasing in cycle II to 87.85. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Example Non Example Cooperative Learning model can improve the speaking skills of grade II elementary school students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' reading comprehension skills using the PQ4R model in grade IV of SDN 11 Ampang, Padang City. This research is a class action research consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Research data were obtained from the results of planning, implementation, and observation using the PQ4R model. The data collection techniques are observation, test, and non-test. The subjects of the study were teachers and students of grade IV of SDN 11 Ampang Padang City which amounted to 15 people. The results of the study showed that: First, the teaching module of the first cycle obtained an average of 87,49% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 96.42% (SB). Second, the results of the implementation of teacher aspect learning in the first cycle were obtained on average 90.62% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 96.87% (SB). Third, the results of the implementation of learning aspects of students in the first cycle were obtained on average 79,66% (C), increasing in the second cycle to 93.75% (SB). Fourth, the results of the knowledge aspect of the first cycle students were obtained on average 80.67% (C), increasing in the second cycle to 94% (SB). Fifth, the results of reading comprehension skills in narrative texts of students in the first cycle were obtained on average 71,25% (C), increasing in the second cycle to 92.22% (SB). Thus, it can be concluded that the PQ4R model can improve the reading skills of reading and narrative text comprehension of students in grade IV of SDN 11 Ampang, Padang City.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of writing skills for explanatory texts through the application of the RADEC model assisted by audiovisual media for fifth-grade students at SDN 24 Ujung Gurun. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with both qualitative and quantitative approaches, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study include the classroom teacher and 28 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques using observation, writing skill tests, and documentation. Quantitative data is analyzed by calculating the percentage of indicator achievement, while qualitative data is analyzed through the process of data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show a significant increase in all observed aspects. The quality of the teaching module improved from 87.5% (good) in cycle I to 97.22% (very good) in cycle II. The implementation of learning by the teacher increased from 82.14% to 96.42%, while student activity also rose from 80.35% to 96.42%. The results of students' explanatory text writing skills improved from 68.91% (poor) in cycle I to 84.49% (good) in cycle II. Thus, the RADEC model assisted by audiovisual media proved effective in improving explanatory text writing skills among fifth-grade students of SDN 24 Ujung Gurun.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh teknologi terhadap keterampilan membaca dan menulis anak-anak di sekolah dasar, serta menilai penerapan sudut baca sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap literasi. Meski teknologi digital menawarkan akses mudah ke informasi dan pembelajaran interaktif, dampak negatif seperti kecanduan perangkat, kurangnya bimbingan dari orang tua dan guru, serta minimnya media pembelajaran yang menarik dapat menghambat perkembangan literasi. Namun, jika dimanfaatkan secara tepat melalui aplikasi pendidikan dan layanan konseling, teknologi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar, seperti yang terlihat dalam penerapan sudut baca di SDN 03 Batu Balang yang berhasil membangkitkan minat siswa dalam membaca dan menulis dengan menyediakan buku-buku yang menarik, kegiatan rutin, dan pembelajaran interaktif. Oleh karena itu, keseimbangan antara penggunaan teknologi dan metode tradisional, ditambah pengelolaan sudut baca yang efektif, adalah kunci untuk mendukung kemajuan literasi anak-anak secara optimal.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of writing skills of students using the Circuit Learning model in the fourth grade at SDN 20 Indarung, Padang City. The approach used is both qualitative and quantitative. The subjects of this research are the teacher and 30 fourth-grade students. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, where Cycle I consists of 2 meetings and Cycle II consists of 1 meeting. Each cycle includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, non-tests, and document analysis. The research results show an improvement, with cycle I starting with an analysis of preparation results: a) The teaching module showed an average of 85 (B) and in cycle II increased to 95 (A), b) The implementation of the teacher aspect in cycle I had an average of 85.94 (B) and in cycle II an average of 91.7 (A), while the implementation of the student aspect in cycle I had an average of 85.94 (B) and in cycle II became 91.7, c) The assessment of students' writing skills in narrative texts in cycle I had an average of 75.55 (C) and in cycle II an average of 84.61 (B). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Circuit Learning model can improve students' writing skills in narrative texts in the fourth grade at SDN 20 Indarung, Padang City.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca permulaan pada peserta didik kelas I di SDN 03 Muara Panas. Data awal menunjukkan bahwa dari 21 peserta didik, 13 diantaranya masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenal huruf dan melafalkan bunyi, dengan rata-rata nilai mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia (membaca permulaan) sebesar 72,38% yang masih berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Tujuan Pembelajaran (KTTP) yaitu 75. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan peningkatan keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Picture Word Inductive (PWI) di Kelas I SDN 03 Muara Panas. Jenis Penelitian yang peneliti gunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus, yaitu Siklus I (dua pertemuan) dan Siklus II (satu pertemuan). Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PWI berhasil dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik. Peningkatan terlihat dari perolehan rata-rata nilai pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta didik: yaitu pada Siklus I Pertemuan 1, rata-rata nilai adalah 69% (predikat butuh bimbingan). Nilai meningkat pada Siklus I Pertemuan 2 menjadi 77% (predikat baik) dan peningkatan kembali terjadi pada Siklus II, dengan rata-rata nilai mencapai 86% (predikat baik). Pada akhir Siklus II, jumlah peserta didik yang meningkat menjadi 18 dari 21 peserta didik atau 86%, sehingga penelitian dihentikan pada siklus ini. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Picture Word Inductive (PWI) terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan peserta didik Kelas I SDN 03 Muara Panas.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low narrative writing skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 36 Cengkeh, Padang. The purpose of this research was to describe the planning, implementation, and improvement of narrative text writing skills through the Think Talk Write (TTW) model assisted by Canva media. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with a qualitative and quantitative approach, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were the classroom teacher as an observer, the researcher as a practitioner, and 30 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and non-test techniques, using observation sheets and test items as instruments, and were analyzed descriptively both quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings revealed improvements in all aspects: lesson planning increased from 85.4% to 95.83%; teacher performance from 82.5% to 95%; student performance from 82.5% to 95%; writing skills from 77.07 to 86.52; and knowledge scores from 62.66% to 84%. It can be concluded that the TTW model assisted by Canva effectively improves students’ writing skills. It is recommended that teachers use this model as an alternative learning strategy for teaching Indonesian language in elementary schools.
