Abstract

Abstract

Leadership is an important component of library management. This study aims to collect and systematically analyze literature on library leadership, so that libraries as information center can provide the best services to users. The research method is a systematic literature review (SLR), collected literature using Publish or Perish (PoP), then extracted using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analyses 2020 (PRISMA2020), then analyzed using VOSviewer. The results is the literature on library leadership was divided into 12 clusters with 244 keywords. The dominating keywords are style, diversity, assessment, staff, and framework. The conclusion of this systematic literature review research on leadership in library management states that the theme of library leadership is very interesting for researchers because library leadership does not have to follow the right leadership theory, every library leader has a unique way and has its own characteristics ranging from leadership style, assessment, diversity, and their own framework in approaching staff to achieve excellent service for users.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has transformed the way people access and consume information, with social media emerging as a new space for interaction, learning, and the dissemination of digital literacy. This article explores the strategic role of librarians as digital literacy influencers on social media platforms. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the article highlights how librarians serve not only as information managers but also as change agents who actively share educational content, raise awareness of information literacy, and foster a critical and inclusive digital culture. The findings show that librarians who creatively and communicatively engage with social media can reach a broader audience—especially digital natives—and enhance the public image of the library profession. The article recommends enhancing librarians’ digital competencies to ensure they remain adaptive and relevant in the face of ongoing digital transformation.

Abstract

The gap in information accessibility has faded the community's tradition of disseminating knowledge, especially in spreading Islamic teachings. The West Sumatra Provincial Government has revitalized the movement “kembali ka surau” to preserve local traditions in spreading Islamic teachings, including in Agam Regency. Currently, Islamic teachings are still widely conveyed orally in several mosques. Information accessibility is needed to support more effective and sustainable religious learning. In Minangkabau society, information dissemination is fundamental to religious life, with the mosque as its center. This article explored how local wisdom was disseminated through the routine wirid tradition in two main mosques located in Bukittinggi and Ampek Angkek districts of Agam Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with religious leaders, and literature reviews from January to March 2024. Findings indicated that wirid effectively disseminated religious values and local wisdom through effective communication channels, consistent scheduling, and an interactive social system. Religious leaders acted as opinion leaders and were reinforced through joint lectures, discussions, and social interactions. Social media enhanced the spread of routine wirid activities. Scheduled routines, reading materials, and technological integration further enriched its impact. This integrated model reveals the powerful potential of routine religious activities as a transformative platform for community education, contextual da'wah, and preservation of local Islamic heritage. In conclusion, the wirid routine in Agam Regency is a medium of da’wah and plays a key role in sustaining, spreading, and preservationg local Islamic wisdom in the local community context.

Abstract

Background of the study: Technological developments in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) are increasingly rapid, along with advances in information and communication technology (ICT). One of the most recent innovations highlighted is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT, which is gaining recognition for its potential to support information analysis. Purpose: This research aims to explore and analyze previous research related to the implementation of AI as part of technological developments in the LIS field, using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Method: The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using Publish or Perish (keywords: ‘library,’ ‘ICT,’ ‘AI’). Initial 48 articles (2019-2023) screened to 38. Data analyzed using Mendeley and visualized with VOSviewer. Findings: The study showed a significant upward trend in the number of studies on the application of AI in the LIS field over the period. AI is considered an effective tool in supporting information analysis. Researchers emphasized the importance of human intervention in the final analysis; results generated by AIs require further verification and analysis to ensure their validity and relevance in a more specific research context. Conclusion: AI plays a key role in the development of LIS and ICT. Library management must implement strategies such as AI integration, competency development, user AI literacy, and ethical policy development.

Abstract

Purpose. Digital transformation accelerated by advances in artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way students explore and evaluate information, especially in the early stages of digital literacy. This study aims to analyse the information literacy practices of students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang in the context of Digital Humanities, focusing on the use of AI-based tools in the search, discovery and evaluation of information sources. Methodology. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative design. The sample consisted of 245 FAH and FST students of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, who were purposively selected. Data were collected through a five-point Likert questionnaire and analysed using SPSS version 26 with descriptive and Chi-Square tests. The validity and reliability of the instruments were tested, with Cronbach's Alpha >0.80. Results and discussion. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents routinely use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Gemini, and Perplexity for initiating information searches. AI is considered highly useful for initial reference discovery, expanding exploration scopes, and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant sources. However, doubts remain among students regarding AI's effectiveness in assessing source credibility. These results underscore the need to integrate critical thinking approaches into AI-based digital literacy education in Islamic higher education institutions. Conclusions. This study contributes to the Digital Humanities discourse by offering an initial mapping of students' interaction patterns with AI in the digital information literacy landscape.
