Abstract

This community service program focuses on empowering Sambel Pecel Srikandi MSMEs in Madiun City, which have been established for more than 25 years and are known to have distinctive taste quality from hereditary recipes, but still face serious obstacles in aspects of modern marketing and product internationalization. The main problems of the partners can be mapped into three things, namely the low utilization of social media and artificial intelligence technology in promotional strategies, the monotony of marketing content that has not used the storynomics approach, and limited English language skills that make it difficult for products to reach the global market. To answer these challenges, the implementation team designed three main solution patterns that are applicable and sustainable, namely (1) assistance in making social media and training in the use of artificial intelligence to support digital promotions, (2) strengthening storynomics-based marketing techniques with gastrodiplomacy content as a strategy to promote cultural values as well as culinary diplomacy, and (3) training in translating and editing promotional content in English to create bilingual promotions that can reach international audiences. The implementation method is designed through the stages of socialization, training, practice, intensive assistance, technology application, and sustainability evaluation, involving lecturers, students, and partners in an active collaborative manner. The outputs of the activities include increasing the capacity of partners in the field of bilingual digital marketing, creating a minimum of ten gastrodiplomacy-based storynomics promotional contents, scientific publications in Sinta journals, publications in online mass media, audio-visual content on YouTube channels, and promotional posters on social media. Thus, this program not only serves to improve the competitiveness of local MSMEs, but also becomes a concrete strategy to internationalize the culinary specialties of the archipelago, especially pecel Madiun, and supports the achievement of SDGs, Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of universities, and the government's Asta Cita in encouraging downstream and industrialization of local products based on the creative economy).

Abstract

The increased use of immune supplements, particularly in urban areas post-pandemic, has raised questions about the reasons behind consumer purchasing behavior regarding these products. This study aims to explore the impact of product quality, price, and brand image on consumer purchasing decisions for immune supplements in Indonesia, specifically for purchases through national pharmacy chains. The study used a quantitative approach, surveying 125 urban consumers using purposive sampling, and analyzed the data using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that price was the most significant decision driver, followed by brand image and product quality, with all factors significantly influencing purchasing decisions. This study provides insights into how price, trust, and perceived value significantly influence consumer purchasing decisions. The results are practical for pharmacy managers and health product companies in developing pricing, branding, and product communication strategies aimed at health-conscious urban residents who prefer affordable products.

Abstract

Waste management in Timbangan Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, faces various challenges such as low community discipline, limited final processing facilities, and a lack of sustainable waste utilization programs. This study aims to analyze the waste management process carried out by local governments and identify the factors that affect its effectiveness. With a qualitative approach through interviews and direct observations, data were collected from various relevant parties, including cleaners and environmental officials. The results showed that although the Temporary Shelter facilities were adequate and the waste collection was running quite efficiently, community behavior and final waste management were still suboptimal, causing environmental problems such as waste accumulation and health risks. It is suggested that the government increase public education, expand the use of waste management technology, and develop waste utilization programs such as waste banks and composting to create sustainable waste management. This study provides an important overview for improving waste management in other areas with similar challenges.

Abstract

Purwosari Village gained recognition with the Embung Puri Idaman tourist attraction, the only tourist village in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. Managed by the Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group), formed in 2022, the site is now facing challenges, including a decrease in the number of visitors. The causes include limited tourism creativity and innovation, economic capital, suboptimal marketing, and low community cohesion. To overcome this, online cultural arts and marketing training programs were held to boost Pokdarwis creativity, attract more visitors, and provide educational value for tourists. This training used the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and involved 40 participants, including Pokdarwis members, village officials, children, and village residents. The material provided includes training on the mini saron musical instrument, the bancakan weton procession, tourism management, and social media marketing. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge from 11.5% to 75.5%, as well as an increase in creativity from those who only relied on nature and facilities as tourist attractions, now being able to play mini saron and understand the bancakan weton cultural procession. Interviews revealed that participants gained new motivation to promote local arts and culture, aiming to increase recognition and provide economic value for the village community.
