Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the patterns and functions of questions expressed in conversational implicature found in market transactions. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this research. And conversation analysis was applied to determine question patterns, while conversational implicature was to examine question functions. The research data was collected in the form of recorded and transcripted conversations along with the corresponding situations or contexts. The data of this research was primarily obtained from both sellers and buyers in Way Halim Market, Lampung, Indonesia, and it was gathered by listening and taking notes. This study showed that there were six types of question patterns found in such transactions that contained conversational implicature, namely (1) yes/no question for asking, (2) tag question for rejecting and ordering (3) declarative question for ordering, (4) alternative question for asking, (5) wh-question for asking and sugesting, and (6) rhetorical question for rejecting. The results also indicated that the sellers used persuasive implied questions more often than the buyers. These questions functioned to persuade buyers politely to make purchase.Keywords: question patterns, implicature, market transactionsPOLA PERTANYAAN DAN IMPLIKATUR PERCAKAPANDI PASAR TRADISIONAL LAMPUNG-INDONESIAAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pola dan fungsi tuturan pertanyaan yang disampaikan dalam implikatur percakapan ketika melakukan transaksi jual beli. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun jenis penelitian dalam menganalisis data menggunakan analisis percakapan untuk menentukan pola pertanyaan dan implikatur percakapan untuk menentukan fungsi tuturan pertanyaan. Data penelitian berupa tuturan percakapan hasil rekaman yang telah ditranskrip serta situasi atau konteks percakapan yang melatarbelakangi peristiwa tersebut. Sumber data penelitian ini diperoleh dari para pedagang dan pembeli di Pasar Way Halim, Provinsi Lampung, Indonesia. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak dan metode catat. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan enam bentuk pola pertanyaan dalam transaksi jual beli yang mengandung implikatur percakapan, yaitu (1) yes/no question fungsi meminta, (2) tag question fungsi menolak dan menyuruh (3) declarative question fungsi menyuruh, (4) alternative question fungsi meminta, (5) wh-question fungsi meminta dan menyarankan, dan (6) rhetorical question fungsi menolak. Dari data yang ditemukan, penjual lebih sering menggunakan tuturan pertanyaan bersifat persuasif dengan makna yang disampaikan secara tidak langsung kepada pembeli. Fungsi penggunaan tuturan persuasif tersebut yakni penjual terlihat memiliki kesantunan sehingga mempengaruhi pembeli dengan harapan akan terjadi transaksi jual beli.Kata kunci: pola pertanyaan, implikatur, transaksi jual-beli

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the application of clinical supervision at the elementary school stage in Lampung Province. This research focuses on combining innovate approaches to clinical supervision with a focus on improving the performance of elementary school teachers in facing the unique challenges of Generation Alpha. The research was conducted in three areas of Lampung Province, namely elementary schools in Bandar Lampung City, Metro City and South Lampung Regency. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Sources of research data are school principals and teachers. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of research related to the problems experienced by elementary school teachers are the teacher's lack of interest in using learning media, students' disinterest in learning media, and the teacher's lack of mastery of technology, information, and communication (TIK). Abstract

How is Foreign Language Learning Implemented Online? The Case of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speaker. Objectives: this article aims to describe the platforms commonly used in learning and teaching Indonesian for foreigners online, the problems encountered, and the solutions. Methods: the researcher employed qualitative research. In obtaining information from three resource persons who teach at the State University of Malang, an in-depth interview technique was used with the aim of obtaining comprehensive information. Findings: The results show that there are four types of digital platforms that are often used: Zoom, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and UKBIPA. Meanwhile, the problems faced are divided into two categories: technical and substance. Meanwhile, the solution proposed by the teacher is to improve digital skills and make maximum use of authentic sources spread across various social media platforms. Conclusion: online learning using a digital platform has advantages and disadvantages, to overcome these shortcomings, collaborative efforts from various parties are needed so that foreign students can achieve communicative competence even though learning is carried out online. Keywords: BIPA, digital platform, second language.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202207

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Lampung's local cultural wisdom values ​​in developing students' cultural literacy in the 21st century. By integrating local wisdom into the education curriculum, students not only learn about the richness of their culture, but also develop the literacy skills necessary to face the challenges of globalization. Through a multidisciplinary approach, such as economic, artistic, language and digital literacy, Tapis Lampung is used as a tool to increase students' understanding of symbolism, design and marketing in the local cultural context. In addition, this article highlights the importance of local wisdom-based literacy movements in improving the quality of human resources in Lampung Province, which aims to create an intelligent, innovative and independent society. Thus, cultural literacy not only functions as a means of education, but also as a bridge to maintain cultural identity and foster tolerance in a diverse society. It is hoped that this article will provide insight for educators and policy makers in designing educational programs that are more relevant and responsive to the needs of the times.   Artikel ini membahas tentang peran nilai-nilai kearifan lokal budaya Lampung dalam mengembangkan literasi budaya peserta didik di abad ke-21. Dengan mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan, peserta didik tidak hanya belajar tentang kekayaan budayanya, tetapi juga mengembangkan keterampilan literasi yang diperlukan untuk menghadapi tantangan globalisasi. Melalui pendekatan multidisiplin, seperti ekonomi, seni, bahasa, dan literasi digital, Tapis Lampung digunakan sebagai alat untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang simbolisme, desain, dan pemasaran dalam konteks budaya lokal. Selain itu, artikel ini menyoroti pentingnya gerakan literasi berbasis kearifan lokal dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Provinsi Lampung, yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang cerdas, inovatif, dan mandiri. Dengan demikian, literasi budaya tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana pendidikan, tetapi juga sebagai jembatan untuk menjaga identitas budaya dan menumbuhkan toleransi dalam masyarakat yang beragam. Diharapkan artikel ini akan memberikan wawasan bagi para pendidik dan pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang program pendidikan yang lebih relevan dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan zaman.

Abstract

Preparing original and relevant research instruments is an important skill for Guidance and Counseling (BK) Study Program students, especially for producing quality research. However, many students prefer to adapt existing instruments rather than compose their own. This affects the originality of the research and the relevance of the results to actual problems in the field. For this reason, training was held in preparing research instruments for BK students at Lampung University. Training methods include theory dissemination, instrument preparation simulations, and empirical testing. The results of the training show that students are able to compose research instruments independently. Each participant succeeded in producing one original research instrument that was relevant to their research topic. This training succeeded in improving students' practical skills and made a positive contribution to the development of research in the field of BK

Abstract

Foreign language anxiety (FLA) has been a significant area of research in second language acquisition, due to its impact on language learning. However, research focusing on teachers’ awareness of students' FLA remains limited, despite suggestions in the literature that educators play a crucial role in helping students cope with anxiety. To address this gap, the present study explores the awareness of junior high school teachers on students’ FLA. A case study approach was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with three junior high school English teachers in Lampung, Indonesia. The data were analysed thematically. The findings indicate that the teachers were generally aware of FLA and could identify its signs, causes, and impact on language learning. However, they appeared to lack awareness that FLA is context-specific and distinct from other forms of anxiety. The study concludes with implications for teacher training and pedagogical practice in relation to managing FLA in the classroom.

Abstract

Newspaper editorials and opinions are types of writing that conduct subjective analysis based on facts and data. Various controversial topics, such as politics, environment, health, economy, and culture, can be found in editorial and opinion texts. Analysis of newspaper editorials and opinions requires an understanding of text structure, facts, and opinions. Editorial and opinion texts must have several characteristics, including being systematic and logical, discussing problems in depth, convincing readers, and containing opinions and facts supported by data or expert opinions. Statements of opinion, arguments, and reaffirmations form the structure of editorial texts. Many journals have studied editorial and opinion texts in newspapers. These journals can certainly be a reference to improve understanding of the analysis of editorial and opinion texts in newspapers. By using a discourse and critical approach, researchers in these journals analyze editorial and opinion texts. In this article, the author will analyze the Editorial and Opinion Texts in the Kompas.id Newspaper. The results of this study can provide a deeper understanding of newspaper opinions and editorial texts.   Editorial dan opini surat kabar adalah jenis tulisan yang melakukan analisis subyektif berdasarkan fakta dan data. Berbagai topik kontroversial, seperti politik, lingkungan, kesehatan, ekonomi, dan budaya, dapat ditemukan dalam teks editorial dan opini. Analisis editorial dan opini surat kabar membutuhkan pemahaman tentang struktur teks, fakta, dan pendapat. Teks editorial dan opini harus memiliki beberapa karakteristik, antara lain sistematis dan logis, membahas masalah secara mendalam, meyakinkan pembaca, and mengandung pendapat dan fakta yang didukung oleh data atau pendapat ahli. Pernyataan pendapat, argumentasi, dan penegasan ulang membentuk struktur teks editorial. Sudah banyak jurnal yang meneliti teks editorial dan opini di surat kabar. Jurnal-jurnal terseut tentu dapat menjadi referensi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang analisis teks editorial dan opini di surat kabar. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan wacana dan kritis, para peneliti dalam jurnal-jurnal tersebut menganalisis teks editorial dan opini. Pada artikel ini, penulis akan menganalisis mengenai Teks Editorial dan Opini pada Surat Kabar Kompas.id. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang opini dan teks editorial surat kabar.
