Abstract

Proses pengomposan dilakukan selama tiga minggu. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta memahami teknik pengolahan pupuk kompos dari kotoran sapi yang ditunjukkan dengan persentase capaian sebelum pelatihan 60% dan setelah pelatihan 80%.Abstract:  Rancher group of Wiro Lembu Lemu Wiyoro, Bantul, Yogyakarta produced 200 kg of cattle dung per day. The lack of knowledge in handling methods of livestock waste becomes a major problem for the ranchers. Therefore, the program aims to provide the training of processing cattle waste into organic fertilizer through the composting process. Methods of this program consisted of socialization and training on compost manufacturing directly to partners. Ten participants attended in this program. The composting process was carried out for three weeks. The result of this program showed that participants were able to understand the technique of compost production from cattle waste as indicated by the percentage of achievement before training of 60% and after training of 80%.

Abstract

This community service activity responds to issues in Non-Formal Education (NFE) supervised by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur. The issues involve: (1) existing curriculum in Guidance Studios, but reliance on inconsistent volunteer instructors is a barrier, and (2) volunteers' lack of understanding of teaching methods and specific policies related to the teaching process in the studios. The objective of this community service activity is to strengthen the capacity of managers to develop work programs and enhance the Learning Studio curriculum with support from a computer-based learning monitoring system. The method involves discussions and training as the basis for developing a system designed to support an appropriate monitoring model, with a user-centered design approach. The outcome of this activity is a prototype monitoring model using mobile devices, enabling instructors at the Guidance Studios and the Local Employment Information System (SIKL) to monitor ongoing learning processes.

Abstract

A study of three kinetic models for predicting methane yield was performed. The selected models for predicting methane yield were first-order, modified Gompertz and Monod models. Anaerobic digestion of rice husk was simulated using the selected models. A comparative evaluation of the models was undertaken to determine the best-fit model. All models obtained an accuracy of predicted methane yield of over 0.9. The prediction of methane yield on rice husk has the most accurate model being the modified Gompertz with the least deviation of 7.37% and the least accurate model being the Monod model with the highest deviation of 20.39%.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills that need to be mastered in the 21st century. CTS especially in prospective elementary school teacher students, need to be developed because as an educator, teachers must face all the problems encountered in the learning process. This study aims (1) to determine whether there is a difference in CTS among students before and after receiving treatment (2) to identify the categories of differences in CTS among students after receiving treatment and its impact on their pro-environmental attitudes. This study is a pre-experimental research using a one group pretest posttest design. Students of the Elementary Education Study Program at Ahmad Dahlan University were given treatment through PBL by conducting an experiment on the use of banana peel waste as a substitute for carbon powder in batteries. A pretest was given before the students received treatment and the lecturer conducted the learning by presenting environmental problems, followed by a posttest. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24 software to determine differences based on the Hake factor or N-gain. Additionally, the researcher analyzed the data using a paired t-test to assess the effectiveness of the PBL model. Based on the results of the study conducted using the N-Gain test, the average value obtained was 0.7239. This indicates that students experienced a significant improvement in learning outcomes, categorized as high (g 0.7). Furthermore, based on the results of observations and interviews, there was a significant impact after students participated in learning with treatment on the material of energy sources affecting the environment. Students demonstrated a positive attitude toward the environment, as evidenced by their sensitivity and openness to contributing to environmental conservation. Based on the gain values obtained, it can be concluded that the PBL model influences students' CTS and supports a positive attitude toward the environment

Abstract

Strengthening the literacy-based Potorono Education Park (PEP) Tourism Village   Abstract: Potorono Education Park (PEP) is a new education-based tourist attraction in Salakan Hamlet, Potorono Village, Kapanewon Banguntapan, Bantul Regency. The problem that arises is that the development of PEP is only limited to the presence of animatronic dinosaurs and has not been accompanied by education and literacy about dinosaurs. This training aims to socialize scientific literacy-based tourism villages to PEP administrators and Setya Bakti youth. The methods used in the preparation and socialization are lectures and questions and answers. The result obtained is an increase in the knowledge of the activity participants. Before the service was carried out, the participants' knowledge was 67.25%, and after the service, it was 87%. This shows that the dedication carried out increased the participants' knowledge. The participants, namely the PEP board and the Setyabakti youth, increased their understanding of scientific literacy-based tourism villages and dinosaurs.
