Abstract

This research is to describe the implementation of mind mapping learning model that can improve the learning outcomes of civil education subject. This research was conducted at Public Elementary School Mawar 2 of Banjarmasin, specifically on grade 5 students involving 29 students consisting of 13 male students and 16 female students. This research is classroom action research. The data analysis used was descriptive quantitative. The research results show the learning outcome of students on Civil Education subject is improving in every meeting. Therefore, mind mapping learning model can improve learning outcome of students.

Abstract

Civics learning about diversity is very important to create a sense of tolerance in children, but the problems found in this research are that students are passive, students' interest in learning is low and bored quickly in learning and the lack of student mastery of PPKn content on diversity material in Indonesia. This study aims to describe teacher activities, student activities and also analyze student learning outcomes when learning Civics on the diversity of materials that exist in Indonesia in fourth grade students of SDN Sungai Rangas. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR) which was carried out for 2 meetings, this research was carried out in grade IV SDN Sungai Rangas which consisted of 16 students. The types of data presented are teacher activity data and student activities obtained through observation, and also student learning outcomes data obtained from test results. The benchmark for success in learning completeness research is that 80% of students obtain or exceed the KKM, the specified value is 75. Based on the findings and results of this study, it can be concluded that learning activities using the JNT learning model and Monopoly Game are able to provide an increase in student activities and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) in Elementary Schools (SD) shapes students' understanding of the social and cultural environment. However, IPS learning in elementary schools often faces problems, including overly theoretical teaching methods, lack of technology, materials irrelevant to students' lives, limited teacher professional development, and an evaluation system focusing on memorization. This article uses a literature study method to identify these problems and offers relevant solutions. The study results indicate that implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL), integrating technology, adopting contextual approaches, providing teacher professional development, and utilizing authentic assessments can improve the effectiveness of IPS learning. By implementing these solutions, it is hoped that IPS learning in elementary schools will be more interactive, engaging, and able to equip students with the critical thinking skills needed to face future social challenges.

Abstract

Penurunan tingkat aktivitas peserta didik dapat disebabkan oleh kurangnya fokus pada kebutuhan mereka selama proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, kondisi pembelajaran yang kurang menarik dan kurangnya tantangan dapat mengakibatkan kegiatan belajar yang tidak memberikan pengalaman memadai bagi peserta didik. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) selama empat siklus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 peserta didik kelas V semester genap SDN Teluk Dalam 1 pada tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Data yang diperoleh melalui observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas pendidik yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Hasilnya, terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar peserta didik secara berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan kombinasi model Jigsaw, NHT, dan TGT berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik, menciptakan peningkatan aktivitas peserta didik. Temuan ini memberikan alternatif pendidikan yang efektif untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik.

Abstract

Rendahnya aktivitas, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan hasil belajar siswa dalam riset ini menjadi permasalahan. Ini disebabkan pembelajaran yang terkesan membosankan, pembelajaran satu arah, kurangnya partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, serta terbatasnya penggunaan berbagai model dan media pembelajaran. Model Problem Based Learning Snowball Throwing dan Picture and Picture dapat digunakan sebagai upaya mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Riset ini bertujuan guna mengkarakterisasi tindakan guru, mengkaji peningkatan aktivitas siswa, menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, dan mengevaluasi tujuan pembelajaran siswa. PTK digunakan dalam riset ini dan diterapkan dalam 4 kali pertemuan. 9 anak kelas 4 SDN 2 Pangeran 2 perempuan dan 7 laki-laki, berpartisipasi dalam riset ini selama semester kedua tahun ajaran 2023–2024. Metodologi riset ini adalah kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui penilaian tertulis yang diberi pada siswa baik secara individu dan kelompok, serta melalui pengamatan terhadap aktivitas instruktur dan siswa serta kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Apresiasi merupakan salah metode dalam menghadapi siswa, Apresiasi yang diberikan dari guru guna meningkatkan motivasi belajar pada siswa. Biasanya dapat berupa pujian, hadiah, serta penghargaan. Apresiasi yang diberikan ini diduga mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Karna siswa yang merasa dirinya dihargai akan cenderung lebih bersemangat dan terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran. Pemberian reward yang tepat dan adil dapat meningkatkan rasa bangga dan semangat belajar siswa, sehingga berdampak positif pada produktivitas perkembangan siswa. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi dalam penggunaan reward adalah memastikan bahwa penghargaan yang diberikan adil, transparan, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus untuk mengetahui lebih dalam bagaimana apresiasi guru terhadap pembentukan motivasi belajar pada siswa sekolah dasar Di SDN Sungai Andai 3. Metode kualitatif yang digunakan merupakan studi kasus, dengan tujuan mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam mengenai penggunaan apresiasi di sekolah. Di SDN Sungai Andai 3 guru turut serta dalam melakukan apresiasi yang dilakukan oleh para guru dengan memberikan reward, pujian, serta dukungan untuk anak. Anak berani memberikan kesan bahwasannya mereka pantas untuk mendapatkan apresiasi atas hal telah mereka lakukan untuk mengutarakan pendapatnya.

Abstract

Differentiated learning can foster creativity, independence, and learning motivation in students. However, misconceptions in understanding and implementing this approach produce negative outcomes. This study analyzes misconceptions in differentiated learning among Indonesian social studies teachers, examining their forms, causes, and impacts. A qualitative descriptive method was employed using structured and open-ended interviews via Google Forms, involving 126 randomly selected social studies teachers across Indonesia. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Results reveal significant misconceptions among Indonesian social studies teachers. Key findings include: overemphasis on learning styles (auditory, visual, kinesthetic) in teaching practices; uniform time allocation despite varying student abilities; and excessive reliance on group learning without considering individual student profiles, including those who prefer independent learning. These misconceptions indicate fundamental misunderstandings about differentiated instruction principles, suggesting the need for improved teacher training and professional development programs.
