Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between fathers' cheating behavior and sons' cheating behavior tendencies. Social learning theory states that behaviors observed in parents can serve as models for children in developing their own behaviors, including in the context of romantic relationships. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design involving 384 adult male respondents. Measurements were made using validated scales, such as the Infidelity Scale (IS) by Drigotas et al. (1999) to assess individual tendencies to commit infidelity and the Perceived Parental Infidelity Scale adapted from the Parental Marital Conflict Scale (Buehler & Gerard, 2002). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation technique to determine the relationship between father's infidelity behavior and son's infidelity behavior. The results showed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.45, p < 0.01), meaning that the higher the level of father's involvement in infidelity, the more likely sons are to show similar tendencies in their own relationships. The implications of these findings suggest the need for a more in-depth psychosocial approach in understanding the factors that influence cheating behavior, especially in an intergenerational context. By understanding how family experiences shape individuals' romantic behavior patterns, family-based interventions and emotional education can be developed to prevent the cycle of infidelity in relationships.

Abstract

Competition among private elementary schools in Tangerang City is increasing, encouraging parents to be more selective in choosing a school for their children. School selection is no longer solely influenced by academic considerations, but also by various external factors such as the school's brand image, recommendations from others, and digital marketing conducted by the school. This study aims to examine the influence of brand image, recommendations from others, and digital marketing on parents' or guardians' decisions in choosing a private elementary school in Tangerang City, with intention to choose as a mediating variable. Recommendations from others were measured using word of mouth indicators, intention to choose using purchase intention indicators, and decision to choose using purchase decision indicators. This study used a quantitative approach with structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques and involved 219 respondents, parents or guardians of students from private elementary schools in Tangerang City. The results showed that brand image had a positive effect on purchase intention and purchase decision. Recommendations had a significant effect on purchase intention, but not on purchase decision. Digital marketing had an effect on purchase intention and purchase decision. Purchase intention was able to mediate the relationship between the influence of recommendations through word of mouth and digital marketing on purchase decision, but not the relationship between the influence of brand image on purchase decision.

Abstract

The assessment results reveal interesting insights into the perception of the Kominfo website's quality in Lhokseumawe City. The analysis highlights two distinct groups: the IT professionals and the general public/non-IT users. The IT professionals, comprising 20 respondents, gave positive evaluations, with an average EC score above 3, indicating that their expectations were largely met by the website. However, there were a few users who provided lower ratings, particularly in terms of mobile accessibility (QA16), indicating some difficulty in accessing the website via mobile devices. On the other hand, the general public/non-IT users from Lhokseumawe City, consisting of 45 respondents, exhibited a mixed perception. They recorded an average EC score of 7.652, showcasing a higher level of satisfaction with their expectations being met. Nonetheless, the average D score of 1.852 indicated a significant mismatch between their expectations and the website's actual performance. Despite this discrepancy, the overall website quality (OWQ) received a positive average score of 4.752, reflecting their relatively positive assessment of the website's overall quality. However, it is essential to consider the importance weight (IW) assigned by this group, with an average score of 1.59. This suggests that they gave relatively lower importance to some questions in the assessment. As such, certain aspects may require improvement to align better with their expectations. Overall, the results underscore the need for further enhancements to specific areas of the website, especially in terms of mobile accessibility, content comprehension, and addressing the mismatch between user expectations and actual performance. By addressing these aspects, the website can improve its overall quality and better cater to the diverse needs and preferences of both IT professionals and the general public/non-IT users in Lhokseumawe City.
