Abstract

Tumbuh kembang balita menjadi aspek penting yang perlu dipantau guna mewujudkan generasi emas. Rendahnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran orang tua dalam memantau tumbuh kembang balita secara rutin, yang berkontribusi pada kurang optimalnya pemanfaatan layanan Posyandu dan fasilitas kesehatan. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada orang tua dan masyarakat di Kelurahan Mojo, Surakarta, guna meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka dalam memantau tumbuh kembang balita. Pemantauan tumbuh kembang balita yang baik sangat penting untuk memastikan kesehatan dan perkembangan optimal anak, namun masih banyak orang tua yang belum sepenuhnya memahami hal ini. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui penyuluhan kepada 10 orangtua balita yang tidak pernah berkunjung ke posyandu, dengan memberikan edukasi mengenai pentingnya pemantauan perkembangan fisik, motorik, kognitif, dan sosial emosional balita. Selain itu, diberikan pula informasi tentang cara-cara praktis yang dapat dilakukan di rumah untuk memantau tumbuh kembang anak melalui media poster dan buku KIA. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap pentingnya pemantauan tumbuh kembang balita sebesar 31%, serta meningkatnya kesadaran mereka untuk secara aktif memeriksa perkembangan anak secara berkala. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat berdampak positif pada kualitas kesehatan anak di Kelurahan Mojo dan meningkatkan partisipasi orang tua dalam mendukung perkembangan balita secara maksimal.

Abstract

Toddler growth and development occur simultaneously, making regular monitoring crucial to detect delays (growth faltering) and enable early interventions. The decline in health visits has hindered the optimal monitoring of toddler growth and development. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education using a leaflet on monitoring toddler growth and development on Posyandu visits. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-post control group approach was applied. Thirty-six toddlers in the Sangkrah Health Center (September–November 2024) were selected via purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria were toddlers in the Sangkrah Health Center area whose parents agreed to participate as respondents, while the exclusion criteria were toddlers with developmental delays. The sample was divided into a control group (18) and an intervention group (18). Data collection included pre-tests (before intervention) and post-tests (for two months after the intervention). The Mann-Whitney U test revealed significant improvements in Posyandu visits in the intervention group (p=0.036), but no changes in the control group (p=0.783). The conclusion of this study is that health education on toddler growth and development using leaflets has an effect on Posyandu visits. This study hopes to establish leaflet-based health education as a foundation for similar programs, especially for mothers with young children.

Abstract

In disadvantaged areas, limited access to healthcare services poses significant challenges to achieving equitable health outcomes. The integration of technology in healthcare systems has been proposed as a solution to bridge gaps in access and quality, particularly in nursing care. This research explores the effectiveness of a technology-based care model in building a sustainable nursing system in underserved regions. The study utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data on health outcomes with qualitative insights from healthcare providers and patients. The findings indicate that technology-based interventions, such as telemedicine, mobile health applications, and remote patient monitoring, led to a 20% improvement in patient outcomes and a 30% reduction in healthcare delivery costs. Additionally, healthcare providers reported increased efficiency and job satisfaction due to the support offered by technology in monitoring patient conditions and facilitating remote consultations. The study concludes that the adoption of technology-driven care models can significantly enhance nursing systems in disadvantaged areas by improving accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability of care. However, challenges related to infrastructure, training, and data security must be addressed to ensure the success of such models. Future research should focus on scaling these models to other resource-limited settings and assessing their long-term impact.

Abstract

Angka kematian ibu pada masa nifas masih menjadi tantangan serius di Indonesia, termasuk di wilayah Kelurahan Semanggi, Kota Surakarta. Rendahnya tingkat kunjungan ibu nifas ke fasilitas kesehatan serta minimnya media edukasi yang digunakan kader posyandu menjadi salah satu penyebab terjadinya komplikasi nifas. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu melalui sosialisasi dan penggunaan media edukasi berupa buku saku “Kader Hebat, Ibu Nifas Sehat”. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR), melibatkan 30 kader kesehatan, dosen, mahasiswa, serta bidan wilayah. Sosialisasi dan refreshing materi disampaikan melalui ceramah interaktif dan demonstrasi teknik menyusui. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan kader dari 53,33% menjadi 90% setelah intervensi, dengan p-value 0,000. Mayoritas kader menyatakan buku saku mudah digunakan (97%) dan mudah dibawa (100%). Peningkatan pengetahuan ini berkontribusi langsung terhadap kualitas edukasi yang diberikan kepada ibu nifas, khususnya dalam deteksi dini dan pencegahan komplikasi pasca persalinan. Dengan informasi yang lebih sistematis dan berbasis bukti, kader dapat menyampaikan edukasi secara efektif, baik di posyandu maupun dalam kunjungan rumah. Program ini berpotensi meningkatkan derajat kesehatan ibu nifas dan kualitas layanan kesehatan masyarakat. Untuk keberlanjutan, diperlukan perluasan jangkauan media serta pelibatan kader secara lebih luas agar manfaat program dapat dirasakan secara menyeluruh di tingkat komunitas.

Abstract

Background: The 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SGI) found that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia was 24.4%, exceeding the global prevalence of 22.2%. The prevalence of stunting in Central Java Province in 2022 was 20.9%. The percentage of stunted toddlers in Surakarta City in 2022 was 1.87%, an increase compared to 1.39% in 2021. Based on 2018 data from the Surakarta Health Office, the highest incidence of stunting was found at the Sangkrah Community Health Center (Puskesmas), at 3.35%. Stunting in children is often caused by inadequate nutritional intake for preconception adolescents during the first 8,000 days of life. One sign of inadequate nutrition is anemia in adolescents. Anemia can be prevented by regularly taking iron supplements (TTD) from adolescence. Purpose: To evaluate iron supplement administration among adolescent girls in Surakarta City. Methods: This study used a mixed-methods design. The study population was junior high and high school students in the Sangkrah Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area. Participants were 150 female students selected using cluster sampling. The first stage involved hemoglobin (Hb) testing and measuring the girls' knowledge and adherence to iron supplement administration using a questionnaire. The second stage involved focus group discussions (FGDs) with health workers from the Surakarta City Health Office, teachers, and junior high and high school students. Quantitative data were analyzed using product-moment correlation, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: The human resources involved in the iron supplement administration program at this school complied with the Anemia Prevention and Control Guidelines. The iron supplement distribution program has been implemented by the Surakarta City Health Office since 2022. Iron supplement distribution is carried out by 2-4 individuals. Most respondents in this study were compliant with iron supplement administration (73.3%). There was a significant relationship between iron supplement adherence and hemoglobin levels, with a p-value of 0.0001. Conclusion: The iron supplement program for adolescent girls has been running well. Monitoring is conducted by the Sangkrah Community Health Center every three months, and the majority of girls are compliant with iron supplement consumption.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk is the healthiest diet for newborns since it has the best immune system of any food, has a wealth of advantages, and contains the right combination and amount of nutrients to promote an infant's growth and development, especially between the ages of 0 and 6 months. This study aimed to determine the impact of breastfeeding on infant’s development in Surakarta. Subjects and Method: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted at Community Health Centre in Surakarta, Central Java on March to August 2020. A total sample of 56 infants were selected for this study. The dependent variable was infant development. The independent variable was exclusive breastfeeding. The data collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by Chi-Square. Results: Infants who are exclusive breastfeeding have a 25.50 times chance of developing better com­par­ed to infants who are not exclusive breast­feeding, and this is statistically significant (OR= 25.50; 95% CI= 1.14 to 572.30; p <0.001). Infant with exclusive breast­feeding had a better commu­nication and social interaction at 6 months, and better cognition, communication, and social interaction at 12 months. Conclusion: The development of infants' psychological, linguistic, fine motor, and gross motor skills can be improved by exclusive breastfeeding. Keywords: breastfeeding, development, infants. Abstract

Perinatal Mental Health is prominent for the well-being of the mother and child, so consideration provides effective support and care for women in the perinatal period given by Midwives can be helped. The study aimed to synthesize primary research on midwives’ experiences of caring for women who experience perinatal mental health and well-being. Using mixed methods systematically combined with quantitative and qualitative studies. This study analys was searched on three databases, ProQuest, Pubmed, and ScienceDirect, from 2021 to 2024. The population in this study were midwives who experienced PMH in the care of pregnant. Critical Appraisal Skills Programs (CASP) were used to determine the study’s methodological quality. By contrast, the synthesis method uses the modified PEOS method. Data extraction, quality assessment, and thematic analysis were conducted using PRISMA-P guidelines. 2926 records were returned, with 10 articles meeting inclusion criteria. Participants included midwives. The findings indicate that there is a need for a sustainable development program for midwives to increase knowledge, attitudes, communication, collaboration, and assessment skills for pregnant women who experience PMH by a scientific perspective. All maternity services must provide specific services to assess and identify Perinatal Mental Health problems. Indeed, the emotional well-being of pregnant women is the goal of debriefing midwives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tentang penjaringan aspirasi siswa melalui MPK dalam mendukung program sekolah yang berpihak pada siswa dan mengidentifikasikan faktor pendukung dan kendala yang dihadapi oleh MPK di SMA N 3 Sukoharjo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan penelitian meliputi pengurus MPK dan seluruh siswa SMA N 3 Sukoharjo, beserta guru dan staf sekolah yang terlibat dalam proses pengambilan keputusan dan yang terutama Kepala sekolah atau pimpinan sekolah yang memiliki wewenang dalam pengambilan keputusan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan, observasi terhadap kegiatan MPK, dan analisis dokumen dengan menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa MPK telah memainkan peran penting dalam mewadahi, menyampaikan aspirasi siswa kepada pihak sekolah dan ikut berkontribusi pada peningkatan perbaikan program sekolah, termasuk penyesuaian kurikulum, perbaikan fasilitas, dan perbaikan kegiatan organisasi juga sebagai pengembang kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. MPK juga membantu mendorong perubahan positif melalui penjaringan aspirasi siswa dan membantu memfasilitasi dialog antara siswa, guru, dan pihak sekolah, menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih inklusif dan demokratis. Dukungan dari pihak sekolah, keterlibatan siswa, dan komunikasi yang efektif antara MPK dengan siswa, antara MPK dengan pihak sekolah. Sedangkan kendalanya antara lain keterbatasan waktu, keterbatasan anggaran dan kurangnya partisipasi siswa.
