Abstract

Workshop desain grafis menggunakan Canva di SMA Integratif PPAI Al- Karomah Kabupaten Malang dilaksanakan sebagai respon terhadap rendahnya literasi digital dan keterampilan desain di kalangan santri, meskipun mereka memiliki minat tinggi terhadap media sosial. Kegiatan ini bertujuan membekali santri dengan kemampuan dasar desain promosi digital melalui metode studi kasus dan Workshop praktis. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pengenalan Canva, strategi konten Instagram, serta prinsip desain seperti layout, warna, dan tipografi. Hasil observasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan antusiasme peserta. Evaluasi dilakukan berdasarkan kualitas desain, namun penilaian berbasis unggahan Instagram tidak optimal karena keterbatasan akses perangkat. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pelatihan berbasis praktik yang adaptif terhadap kondisi pesantren. Secara keseluruhan, Workshop ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan literasi digital dan menjadi langkah awal menuju pemberdayaan ekosistem digital pesantren yang mandiri dan berkelanjutan di era transformasi digital.

Abstract

The connecting rod in a compressor plays a critical role in transmitting the reciprocating motion from the piston to the crankshaft, making it a vital component that is constantly subjected to cyclic loads and stresses. This study aims to evaluate the structural strength and reliability of a compressor connecting rod by utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) through SolidWorks Simulation software. The connecting rod was modeled with realistic geometric dimensions and material properties commonly used in household refrigerator compressors, such as aluminum alloys or medium-carbon steel. The simulation was performed by applying realistic boundary conditions, including compressive forces, reaction loads from the crankshaft, and constraints reflecting actual operational conditions. The results of the finite element simulation provided insights into the stress distribution, deformation patterns, and safety factors of the connecting rod under various load conditions. The maximum von Mises stress was identified in the transition area between the rod and the crank pin, which is consistent with typical failure points found in previous studies. From the analysis, it was concluded that the existing design provides an acceptable safety factor under normal working conditions, but optimizations in material thickness and fillet radius at critical regions could further enhance durability and reduce the risk of fatigue failure. This study highlights the importance of structural analysis in improving the reliability and longevity of compressor components through simulation-based design validation.

Abstract

Calophyllum Inophyllum (nyamplung) Oil is recognized as a promising non-edible vegetable oil for the development of sustainable green energy lubricants. This study aims to improve the physicochemical characteristics of nyamplung oil through a two-step transesterification followed by esterification using trimethylolpropane (TMP), and to assess its tribological performance. The refined oil exhibited a flash point of 212 °C (ASTM D92) and a pour point of 8 °C (ASTM D97), indicating excellent thermal and flow stability. The kinematic viscosity was 38.3 cSt (ASTM D445) and the density 0.88 g/cm³ (ASTM D4052), both within industrial lubricant standards. The acid value decreased markedly from 36.5 to 1.62 mg KOH/g, while the iodine value (0.006 g I₂/100 g) and peroxide value (0.23 Meq/kg) demonstrated chemical stability. FTIR analysis confirmed the formation of ester functional groups, and GC–MS results showed a balanced distribution of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Overall, the modified Calophyllum Inophyllum Oil fulfills key technical criteria for eco-friendly green energy lubricants and shows strong potential as a renewable alternative to conventional mineral-based lubricants in industrial applications. Nevertheless, its crude form presents several drawbacks, including high acid and peroxide values as well as poor oxidative stability.
