Abstract

Two Stay Two Stray  is a cooperative learning model which is majoring the cooperation of each member of group to finish the task given and give chance to its member to share information each other with another group member by following a certain pattern. The purpose of this research is  to investigate the difference of learning achievement between students who have been taught using cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray  type with three intersection  pattern and students who have been taught using cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray  type with the simple pattern. The participants of this research are two groups of 10th grader, the A class as the experiment group and the B class as the control group respectively.  The instruments used in this research is Two Stay Two Stray with three intersection pattern and simple pattern learning which is manifested in the syllabus, Teaching Implementation Plan (RPP), and the questions for pre test and post test. The results of the data analysis were: 1) There was a difference in achievement between students who have been taught using cooperative learning of Two Stay Two Stray  type with three intersection pattern and students who have taught using a model of cooperative learning by Two Stay Two Stray  type with simple pattern, 2) the learning achievements of students who have taught using cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray  type with three intersection pattern were higher than students who have taught using cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray  type with simple pattern.

Abstract

Successful learning is determined by various factors involved in it. These factors are not only derived from the personal individuals involved themselves, but also are the result of collaboration between human resources and other resources in the same context. This study tries to explore the factors that determine a person's success in science learning. The study is conducted by identifying the attributes that are considered important in the learning process. Those involved in this study numbered 65 respondents who acted as teachers, educators, tutors, or lecturers who taught and focused on science materials. The method used is a thematic analysis approach that specifically categorizes the themes that are considered important and becomes the initial indicator in determining the success of learning. The results of the study show that a success in the learning process of science depends on the aspects in it including good collaboration between students and teachers, self-management, methods used in learning, applied evaluation strategies, as well as external factors which are not directly determines the success of learning such as the cultural, social, and environmental context in which the individual grows and develops.

This service activity was carried out at the beginning of the first week of August 2021, with 18 teachers attending. This service method is carried out by providing training and direct assistance to teachers to create interactive learning media using the articulate storyline application. This service activity produces this interactive learning media according to the subject area of each teacher such as a science teacher who makes learning media for science lessons. This activity also contributes to schools and teachers, 90% of the teachers understand what the service team is saying. With the high understanding of these teachers, it is hoped that it can be used as a simple Learning Management System (LMS) for schools which can later be used in the online and offline learning process.

Abstract

Local upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a type of cereal crop that has the potential for dry land areas. Farmers in Kupang plant upland rice/local rice that has been consumed and used for generations and is considered by the surrounding community as part of their ancestral heritage. The materials used in this research were local upland rice varieties as a result of exploration. The varieties of six local upland rice of Kupang studied in this research had different rice characters in terms of its weight, volume, density and yield.'Aen Molo' has the highest weight per grain and per 1000 grains, namely 0.024 g and 24.95 g, also the highest volume of 1000 grains of rice is 30 ml, while 'Aen Lekes' has the lowest weight per grain and per 1000 grains, namely 0.020 g and 19.66 g and also the lowest volume of 1000 grains, namely 23 ml. The Iodine test results showed that the local rice of Kupang was classified in the regular or non-glutinous rice group. Meanwhile, Alkali test results show that the six samples of local upland rice have a high gelatinization temperature which indicates that local upland rice in Kupang Regency has high amylose content.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the misconception in the students as well as the teachers on the same topic, namely Energy. This study used mixed-method research of sequential exploratory type with the research subjects of the teachers and the students in North Central Timor Regency with a sample size of 163 students and 12 physics teachers. The misconception data was obtained by giving a misconception test in the form of a multiple-choice question. There were 12 questions with 5 answer choices which were equipped with CRI (Certainty of Response Index). The results showed that the percentage of students' misconceptions for the whole question (12 items) was quite large, namely 43.66%, while students who had a good understanding of the concept were 38.80%. Nearly 18% of students did not understand the concept while 4.24% were just guessing and lucky (Lucky Guess) while the remaining 13.29% were the total students who did not understand the concept of the questions at all. Meanwhile, of the teachers, an average of 77.08% have mastered the concept of Energy. However, as many as 22.92% of the teachers had the misconception on several questions, namely (question number 5,6,7,8,9,10, and 12) with the most misconceptions on question number 7, 10, and 5. The conclusion obtained was that the misconception found in physics teachers was 22.92%. For the students, there was still a large portion of them who had misconceptions about the topic of Energy. This was caused by the lack of students' understanding of the topic of Energy

Abstract

Creativity is an important aspect in building a good culture of education. Good creativity is shown by the learning outcomes that not only focus on improving cognitive abilities but also on the process of solving a problem either by using divergent or convergent thinking skills. This study was carried out with descriptive quantitative. The study was conducted using two instruments, namely the creativity character scale consisting of 10 items and a set of Verbal Creativity Tests (TKV) consisting of six subtests. The total subjects involved in this study were 470 students who were divided into groups that got the character scale of creativity with the group given the verbal ability test. The results of the study, either through the creativity character scale or verbal creativity tests, show the acquisition of creativity scores which describes that there are still many individuals who have not been optimized in terms of creativity. This becomes a serious concern that can be anticipated by providing information about the importance of creativity. It is also built by creating an instrument that is more effective directly capturing the condition of one's creativity as a whole.

Abstract

The instrument could be an important tool to measure the current situation of preservice teachers’ understanding of STEM education at the elementary school level. The study aimed to develop and validation of the scale of instrument test of elementary school preservice teachers’ understanding of integrated STEM. The scale of the instrument was developed based on the items results of theoretical background review and the experts’ suggestions with the total number of participants in this study is 124 Indonesian elementary school preservice teachers’ understanding from the university at the central regions of Indonesia were voluntarily selected to fill out the test. The primary component analysis generated by the components and sub-components of each item could be measured by the Cronbach’s alpha of .940 value and the finding indicated that the scale is valid and reliable to interpretation as a vehicle for evaluating the elementary school preservice teachers’ understanding of STEM education. The implication of this study was about the possibility to implementation STEM into the classroom which is related to improve 21st century skills.
