Abstract

The construction implementation system in the Mandala Mathika Subak Museum Revitalization project uses the cast in situ or conventional method including floor slab work. The implementation of floor slab work with the cast in situ method requires a long processing time and a lot of labor and costs incurred. In the construction of the building, the selection of work methods is very influential on the implementation time and cost. The selection of the right method will make the development efficient. One of them is the use of precast concrete such as half slab. In this study will compare conventional methods and half slab methods from the aspects of implementation time and cost, which is more profitable. The results of the comparative analysis of execution time and costs from the calculation of cast-in-situ and half-slab plates in the Revitalization Project of the Mandala Mathika Subak Museum show that using the half-slab method saves 33% in costs compared to the cast-in-situ method, with a cost difference of Rp. 552,730,037, and can accelerate the execution time of 43% or 19 days.

Abstract

In the construction, it must be able to be used according to its function so that it can be used for a long time. The concept of construction that has sufficient strength and allows for large spaces without affecting aesthetics has emerged in recent decades. A flat slab is one of the advances in the construction system of a two-way concrete plate that distributes the working load directly to the column element without using a beam. The use of drop panels can increase the strength of the plate by resisting the sliding style of the pons and reducing the negative moment reaction that occurs on the plate and column. In the analysis, the results used a flat slab with a thickness of 200 mm, with bones in the x and y directions at the focus of As D16-100 mm and As’ D16-200 mm, whereas in the columns of column directions x and y, the field part is mounted with As D13-100 mm and As‘ D13-200 mm. In the middle column of directions X and Y, use the bones of As D13-100 mm and As‘ D13200 mm. Used a drop panel of 300 mm. For the lift area, an L type column with dimensions of 450 mm x 450 mm is used. The bars used are TB1, TB2, B1, and RB, and the columns used are 500 mm x 500 mm and 400 mm x 400 mm. The planned foundation uses a cylinder-shaped pillar with a depth of up to 8 meters.

Abstract

This study examines the planning of high-rise building structures in Indonesia, focusing on the application of Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) systems under seismic conditions. Situated within the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia frequently experiences significant earthquakes due to the convergence of three continental plates. Previous research indicates that the design of high-rise buildings necessitates careful attention to dimensions and reinforcement to ensure structural strength and stability. The SMRF planning method, which applies the principle of strong column weak beam, has been analyzed across various case studies, including designs for office buildings, hotels, laboratories, and educational facilities.Furthermore, this study compares the structural performance using different concrete strengths, specifically 41.5 Mpa and 24.9 Mpa, in the construction of prison walling at the Kejati Detention Center. Through quantitative analysis and structural modeling using ETABS V.20 software, this research identifies differences in base shear and inter-story drift between the two concrete strengths. The findings provide insights into the effectiveness of higher-grade concrete usage and its potential impacts on the strength and structural quality of buildings. The implications of this research can guide practitioners in selecting the appropriate construction materials to enhance performance and cost-efficiency in high-rise building projects in Indonesia.

Abstract

To conserve building height, flat slabs are concrete structures that do not employ beams as weight transfer to columns. The flat slab system structure is prone to shear collapse due to the lack of beams. A column head is made to forward the load from the plate to the column so that the shear value in the building is not too high. This is done by expansion at the end of the column or by thickening around the critical circumference of the column and plate meeting. The Warmadewa University G2 Building Planning Analysis is carried out during the planning stage, using a flat slab-drop panel structural system as one of the optional structural systems that can be used to obtain a building height that is in accordance with Bali Provincial Regulation Number 16 of 2009 concerning the regional spatial plan of the Province of Bali. Terompong street No. 24, Sumerta Kelod, East Denpasar sub-district, Denpasar City, Bali, is where the Warmadewa University G2 building will be built. According to the soil data, the building is constructed on a medium soil site class with a building structure risk level IV. The Warmadewa University G2 Building structure was studied using etabs v.18 software in accordance with SNI 2847-2019 requirements for structural concrete for building buildings and loading in accordance with SNI 1727-2020 criteria. The biggest deflection value occurs in the middle lane due to the load from the function room, as determined by the study for the dimensions of the 350mm thick drop panel and 250mm thick slab utilizing a column size of 600 x 600 mm with a span of 8000mm. The inner drop panel experiences the highest lateral loads due to shear failure.

Abstract

The Tanjung Pura interchange overpass bridge, a critical connector road on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, currently utilizes wall-type pillars that have limitations in seismic performance and construction efficiency. This study aims to redesign the bridge pillars from a wall-type to a portal-type configuration to improve structural safety and optimize the design. The redesign process involves several key steps, including data collection through literature review and documentation from project stakeholders, structural modeling using SAP2000 v.20 software incorporating the redesigned portal-type pillars with optimized dimensions and reinforcement arrangements, load analysis considering various load combinations based on Indonesian bridge design codes and standards, and capacity evaluation using SP Column v.7 software to assess the structural adequacy and safety of the redesigned pillars. The portal-type pillars, with dimensions of 1500 mm × 2500 mm and 50D32 main reinforcement, along with additional leg reinforcement in the plastic hinge regions, demonstrated improved seismic performance and constructability compared to the original wall-type design, with a maximum capacity ratio of 0.20 indicating sufficient reserve capacity and safety margin. The successful redesign of the Tanjung Pura interchange overpass bridge pillars highlights the potential for optimizing bridge structures to enhance safety, efficiency, and economy, serving as a valuable reference for future bridge rehabilitation and redesign projects.

Abstract

Infrastructure development projects often face design changes that affect specifications, volumes, and resource allocation, thereby requiring adjustments to cost estimates. Conventional cost-cutting practices frequently compromise quality, underscoring the need for systematic approaches such as Value Engineering (VE). This study applies VE in conjunction with the Pareto Distribution Principle to optimize cost efficiency and functional performance in the construction of an integrated arts laboratory building. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, encompassing the phases of information gathering, functional analysis using the Function Analysis System Technique (FAST), creative brainstorming, evaluation, and presentation. Pareto analysis revealed that 78.99% of project costs were concentrated in architectural, structural, and roofing works, which became the focus of VE. Functional analysis identified opportunities to substitute lower-order functions, particularly in formwork, door and window installations, and ceiling work. Comparative evaluation of alternative designs demonstrated significant improvements: composite slabs enhanced installation efficiency despite slightly higher initial costs; aluminium frames for doors and windows reduced life cycle costs by 30.8 million IDR while improving durability; and PVC ceilings achieved savings of 148.9 million IDR with superior performance indicators. Overall, VE implementation yielded cost savings, reduced material waste, and improved technological innovation without compromising quality. The integration of VE and Pareto analysis thus provides a comprehensive framework for achieving optimal value in construction projects, balancing cost efficiency, functionality, and sustainability.
