Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia are three of the biggest exporters of coconut oil in ASEAN, by knowing their position in the Internastional trade of Coconut Oil it become an evauation for the sustainability of the Indonesia’s coconut oil trade.,The aims of this research are knowing the position of Coconut Oil (Crude Coconut Oil with HS Code 151311 and Its derivative with HS code 151319) compared to the competitors during 2001 to 2017 by using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Acceleration Ratio (AR), Trade Specialization Index (ISP) and Export Similarity Index (ESI) for adding information about the similarity of the export structure of coconut oil from Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia to the world market. The results of the research show that Indonesia has high competitiveness, and has the highest acceleration in the growth of Crude Coconut Oil’s exports (HS Code 151311) compared to the Philippines and Malaysia. Meanwhile, Indonesia and Philipines have a higher similarity market of coconut oil than Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesia should increase the capacity industries for derivative of crude coconut oil (HS code 151319) so it could increase volume and value export because it has a higher benefit than crude coconut oil.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools should be able to produce entrepreneurs who can create businesses independently for their lives. But in reality, there are some SMK alumni who haven't got a job after graduating from school. This can be avoided from the beginning of their education an interest in entrepreneurship is cultivated so that when they graduate, they can choose to become entrepreneurs. On the other hand, every human activity produces waste (garbage). Excessive waste production can cause problems for the environment. In addition to having an unpleasant smell, flies often infest garbage and can cause disease outbreaks, some of the waste that is abundant in the environment is fruit peel waste. The use of fruit peels in dosage forms is still little done, and product preparations in circulation are still very minimal to be found, even though the use of fruit peels is fairly easy to find, economical and practical. Based on the above conditions, it is necessary to have activities to increase the interest in entrepreneurship for SMK students in harmony with sustainable waste management. One of the alternative activities is Entrepreneurship Training by making organic soap from fruit peel waste. The methods used are identifying partner needs, designing activities, mentoring, implementing, and evaluating sustainability. The result of this training is that students practice directly making organic dish soap, it is hoped that the data will make alternative business products.

Abstract

Crystal guava marketing is less efficient if the marketing channel is long. Long marketing channels will affect the amount of marketing costs and prices at the farmer and consumer levels. This study aims to: 1) how marketing channels are used, 2) calculate marketing margins, 3) determine marketing efficiency. The methods of this research are descriptive and quantitative. The location of the research was determined purposively, namely Gadingrejo Village, Umbulsari District, Jember Regency. The sampling technique uses total sampling and snowball sampling with a sample of 40 farmers and 10 marketing institutions. The results of this study show that: 1) There are 2 marketing channels of crystal guava, namely the channel pattern level II = Farmers → Wholesalers → Retailers → Consumers, the channel pattern level III = Farmers → Collectors → Wholesalers → Retailers → Consumers, 2) Each marketing channel pattern has a different marketing margin, namely the first marketing channel has a marketing margin of Rp 4,250/kg while the second marketing channel is Rp 4,250/kg 6,000/kg, 3) Efficient marketing channels are found in level II marketing channels with a farmer share value of 57.5% while in level III marketing channels with a farmer share value of 40%, the level II marketing channel pattern is more efficient compared to the level III marketing channel pattern.

This study aims to determine the driving factors and inhibitors of the sustainability of healthy rice programs in Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. This research uses the Force Field Analysis (FFA) method with a total sample of 20 healthy rice farmers from 6 farmer groups in Sukorambi District. The selection of locations in Sukorambi District with consideration to encourage farmers to apply environmentally friendly healthy rice cultivation in Sukorambi District. The results showed that: (1) Assistance by PPL obtained the highest TNB as a driving factor for the sustainability of the healthy rice program, namely 2.04% (2) The length of time required to make organic fertilizer obtained the highest TNB as an inhibiting factor. Farmers together with farmer groups need to maximize assistance by PPL and minimize the time to make organic fertilizer. To realize the sustainability of the healthy rice program, it is recommended to maintain assistance by PPL on a regular basis and design an organic fertilizer composition that has a faster production process.

Abstract

Introduction: Fruit peel is one of the natural ingredients that has not been optimally utilized and can be used as a raw material for making dish soap because it has antibiotic, antiseptic, and antibacterial content. This study aims to make dish soap using dragon fruit peel extract, papaya fruit, and banana fruit as natural ingredients and determine the quality characteristics of dish soap and business feasibility analysis. Methods: This research was conducted in two stages. The first stage selected the best fruit skin dish soap based on the quality characteristics and organoleptic tests on the product. The second stage then analyzed the business feasibility of the best fruit peel extract dish soap product. Results: The quality characteristics of dragon fruit peel, banana, and papaya skin extract dish soap with pH test parameters, FFA content, and free alkali content are in accordance with SNI standards, but the viscosity test shows that it is not suitable and has a value below SNI, and the results of the organoleptic test show that dragon fruit peel extract dish soap is preferred by panelists compared to banana and papaya skin extract soap with an average value of 4.3 color parameters; aroma 3.5; texture 3.6; and overall 4.1. Conclusion: Dragon fruit peel extract dish soap has the best organoleptic test value compared to banana and papaya peel dish soap. The results of the feasibility study analysis of the dragon fruit peel extract dish soap business have a BEP Unit value of 31, BEP Rupiah of IDR.462,185, ROI of 81.64%, and R / C of 1.82 where this business is considered feasible if developed.
