Abstract

Abstract

In the modern era, where foreign languages increasingly dominate, regional languages such as Javanese are becoming marginalized. However, local languages are essential as markers of identity and vehicles for transmitting cultural values. This study aims to evaluate the program's impact on students' Javanese language skills and the internalization of politeness and communication ethics as part of character education aligned with the Pancasila student profile. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The variables examined include students' ability to use the Javanese language and their understanding of traditional etiquette. The data focused on students in grades IV to VI, teachers, and parents at SD Negeri 3 Bulukerto. Data were collected through participatory observation, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Thematic analysis was used to interpret the collected data and identify emerging patterns. The findings indicate that the Prasaja Sejati program significantly improved students’ use of krama Javanese in daily interactions both at school and at home. Thematic analysis revealed enhanced student awareness of politeness norms inherent in Javanese culture and increased collaboration between the school, parents, and the community. These results demonstrate that the program impacts not only students’ linguistic abilities but also their cultural and character development. The program is recommended as a culturally grounded educational model that can be adopted by other schools to promote local identity amid increasing globalization and digitalization.

Abstract

Shallots are a horticultural commodity whose demand is always increasing. Organic cultivation by utilizing household waste as organic fertilizer and mycorrhizae is one way to increase the production of Bima variety shallots. The study was conducted from February to May 2025 in Koripan Village, Matesih District, Karanganyar Regency. This study aimed to determine the effect of mycorrhizae and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from household waste on the growth and yield of Bima variety shallots. The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) using two factors, namely the mycorrhizae dose (0, 5, and 10 grams) and the POC watering interval (0, 3, 6, and 9 days). The results showed that the administration of 10 grams of mycorrhizae gave the best results in terms of bulb weight (32.75 grams), number of bulbs (7.20), and consumption bulb weight (31.12 grams). Meanwhile, the three-day POC watering interval (P2) resulted in the highest tuber weight (36.83 grams), tuber number (8.00 grams), and tuber consumption weight (35.44 grams) of all treatments. The combination of mycorrhizal treatment and POC watering interval significantly increased plant productivity in an organic and environmentally friendly manner.

Abstract

The community’s demand for medicinal plants continues to grow along with the back to nature trend, which encourages the use of natural ingredients to maintain health. However, in Karangmojo Village, Weru Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency, many home gardens remain underutilized, even though they have the potential to serve as a source of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group in cultivating TOGA to support family health self-reliance. The program was conducted on January 15, 2025, at the Karangmojo Village Hall using a participatory approach, including counseling, technical training, field practice, and mentoring. Participants were introduced to various medicinal plants that are easy to cultivate, planting and maintenance techniques, as well as their applications for simple home remedies. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, reflected in their high enthusiasm during practice and their commitment to developing TOGA gardens in their respective yards. A demonstration TOGA garden was successfully established in one participant’s yard as a replicable model. This activity not only provided direct benefits for family health but also opened up economic opportunities through processing harvested medicinal plants into marketable herbal products. The program is expected to be sustainable with continuous mentoring and the establishment of a village-level TOGA working group.
