Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in instructional and learning activities significantly impacts enhancing the quality of education, especially in the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Classpoint is a learning platform that facilitates IT-based educational activities. This study aims to assess the implementation of Classpoints in teaching English to fifth graders at SD IT Imam Syafei Pekanbaru during the 2023/2024 academic year. The research adopts a qualitative approach, specifically case study research. Data collection methods include observation and interviews. The techniques used for data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, data triangulation, method triangulation, and source triangulation were employed. The research findings indicate that the implementation of Classpoint at SD IT Imam Syafei Pekanbaru is highly effective for teaching English.

Abstract

Unplanned waste management practices will give rise to more complex and detrimental social problems. Indiscriminate dumping of rubbish, burning rubbish and piling rubbish in public places are habits that cause air and land pollution, which ultimately has an impact on high ground water levels and causes obstruction of water channels which ultimately results in flooding. Waste management issues must be investigated and addressed by all stakeholders as soon as possible. Waste cannot be handled carelessly; rather, it requires a comprehensive approach that involves all stakeholders to solve it, turning it from a societal problem into one that adds value to managers' profits and protects the environment. Uncertainty regarding the importance of 4R-based waste management is still a major problem in society. This situation then encourages the development of new problems related to waste, such as unpleasant views, strong odors, and disturbed environmental conditions. Environmental and social problems are also caused by the increasing amount of waste thrown into landfills in the surrounding environment. The aim of this service project is to increase public awareness of the possible risks associated with waste and the importance of keeping the environment clean. As a genuine effort to control waste and offer alternative options to strengthen the community's economy, this activity will provide an overview to the community regarding the economic possibilities and opportunities of 4R-based waste management. By implementing a 4R-based waste management program, the people of Lhokseumawe City can maximize waste as a source of income. By sorting waste and selling it to collectors, people can earn additional income from waste. Apart from that, this waste management program can also open up new business opportunities for the community, such as processing organic waste into fertilizer or eco enzymes. This service activity will be carried out for one year in 2023 by producing mandatory outputs in the form of increasing the community's knowledge and skills in managing their waste using 4R, publication in the ISSN Service Journal, publication on electronic media and activity videos.

Abstract

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) merupakan salah satu tes kemahiran berbahasa Inggris yang megukur 4 keterampilan berbahasa Inggris seseorang. Terkait dengan adanya beberapa keterampilan berbahasa Inggris yang diukur di IELTS, penelitian ini berfokus pada penelitian berbicara (speaking) yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris pada IELTS Simulation Test untuk menganalisa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam melakukan tes keterampilan berbicara, serta menemukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan dan menjadi penghambat dalam melakukan tes simulasi yang diberikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterampilan mahasiswa dalam melakukan tes simulasi IELTS untuk keterampilan berbicara perlu untuk ditingkatkan lagi karena sebahagian besar mahasiswa masih berada pada rentang nilai 4-6. Sehingga, dapat dimaknai bahwa tingkat keterampilann mahasiswa dalam melakuan tes simulasi EITLS Speaking (Berbicara) sudah menunjukkan keterampilan yang cukup baik karena ada beberapa mahasiswa yang mampu meraih rentang nilai 7, dan sebahagian besar peserta tes juga sudah berada pada rentang 5-6, hanya beberapa mahasiswa yang berada pada rentang 4-4,5. Faktor latihan merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan peserta tes untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam berbicara Bahasa Inggris, namun seluruh mahasiswa yang diinterview mengemukakan bahwa mereka tidak melakukan persiapan khusus ketika mereka akan melakukan tes, sehinggan hasil yang mereka peroleh masih perlu untuk ditingkatkan. Selain itu, kecemasan pada saat melakukan tes berbicara mempengaruhi keterampilan peserta tes dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan, selain itu kesulitan peserta tes dalam memahami beberapa makna kata yang dituturkan oleh penguji menimbulkan kesulitan bagi peserta tes untuk merepon pertanyaan yang diajukan, namun mengetahui tips dan trik dalam melaukan tes IELTS Speaking dapat meminimalisir hal-hal yang dapat mengganggu selama pelaksanaan tes. Abstract

Dewasa ini, perkembangan internet semakin cepat dan telah merambah ke berbagai bidang, termasuk pendidikan. Media pembelajaran juga mengalami perkembangan dengan munculnya berbagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Aplikasi Classpoint adalah salah satu perangkat lunak yang dapat terintegrasi dengan Microsoft PowerPoint, memungkinkan pembuatan media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan inovatif. Terdapat banyak fitur yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh para guru untuk menciptakan materi pengajaran melalui aplikasi ini. Sayangnya, guru-guru SD-IT Imam Syafe’I Pekanbaru  belum terampil menggunakan aplikasi Classpoint, padahal aplikasi ini memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Islam Riau (UIR)  menginisiasi pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Classpoint bagi guru-guru dan siswa. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 20 peserta, yang terdiri dari guru dan perwakilan murid dari SMA IT-Imam Syafe’I  Pekanbaru. Evaluasi pelatihan dilakukan berdasarkan pemahaman peserta pada setiap sesi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Classpoint sangat bermanfaat bagi para guru dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif. Respon peserta pelatihan terhadap penggunaan aplikasi ini secara keseluruhan dinilai sangat baik.

Abstract

This research stems from the low reading proficiency observed among students during the the process of teaching English learning, which impacted various sectors, including primary education. The issue was especially prominent in English, a mandatory subject that needs to be mastered from an early age. Consequently, efforts were made to support students in learning English through the development of an interactive educational tool called "Roda Literasi" (Rossi), designed to enhance students' learning motivation. This study focuses on evaluating the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. The research involved third-grade students from SD IT Imam Syafei’I and followed a Research and Development (RD) approach using the ADDIE model. Data collection included preliminary interviews, validation by subject matter and media experts, and feedback from teachers and students through questionnaires. Results indicated that "Roda Literasi" aligned with 95% of the subject matter and achieved a 98% validity score for educational use. Additionally, 88.93% of students reported enjoying the use of the tool. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends expanding the content of Roda Literasi to include other subjects.

Abstract

Facebook adalah salah satu website jaringan sosial yang sekarang sedang meningkat popularitasnya dan jumlah anggotanya meningkat tajam dalam waktu yang singkat.Siswa bertugas untuk belajar dan menuntut ilmu, karena masa remaja adalah masa-masa transisiyang ingin sekali diperhatikan, facebook adalah sebuah websiteyang dapat membuat para remaja ini lebih ekspresif menonjolkan dirinya, keinginanya, dan profilnya. Sehingga para siswa ini akan terus menerus bermain facebook sehingga pekerjaan rumahnya terganggu dan membuat waktu tersita dengan banyak dengan bermain situs tersebut.Konsep teori yang peneliti gunakan adalah model komunikasi Stimulus – Respon. Untuk mengetahui stimulus yang ditimbulkan dari sebuah promosi efektif, diperlukanpengetahuan tentang faktor yang mempengaruhi seseorang dalam menerima, mempertimbangkan informasi dan mengambil keputusan dalam membeli produk yang ditawarkan.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif.Untuk mengukur kekuatan antara dua variabel, yaitu media sosialfacebook sebagai variabel independen dan motivasi belajar siswa sebagai variabel dependen, digunakan simple regression atau sering juga disebut regresi sederhana.Dari hasil Uji t diperoleh nilai thitung untuk variable Media sosial facebooksebesar 2,800 (lebih besar dari ttabel sebesar 1,983), dan PValue sebesar 0,000< 0,05,) maka hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Media sosial facebook mempengaruhi Motivasi belajar siswa SMA-IT Imam syafe’i Pekanbaru.

Abstract

The pronunciation of Ijab Kabul is a phenomenon that the Aceh Singkil Ulama respond to in contradiction, so that it becomes an interesting material to be discussed according to the Aceh Singkil Ulama. The research question in this thesis is, How is the legal consent in marriage according to the views of the Aceh Singkil Ulama. And what is the legal basis used by the Aceh Singkil Ulama against the conditions for the validity of the consent and acceptance in the marriage contract. In the discussion of this thesis using (Field research). The data sources are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Based on the research results obtained show that; First, the pronunciation of Ijab Kabul is something that is easy to pronounce, not to be complicated for men and the Aceh Singkil Ulama make it easier to pronounce the Ijab Kabul for those who carry out this marriage, namely being able to use their own language (regional language), the most important thing is not to deviate from the meaning of marriage. (al-zawaj). Second, the legal basis regarding the pronunciation of consent and consent in Surah Az-Zariyat verse 49 "And we created everything in pairs so that you remember the greatness of Allah", that Allah has indeed promised in the Qur'an every creature on this earth was created. by God in pairs. And marriage is a job that is recommended for men who are able to get married so hasten to get married. And in the Qur'an it is also explained in Surah Al-Maidah verse 1 "O you who believe! Fulfill promises. Livestock is lawful for you, except what will be mentioned to you, by not making hunting lawful when you are in ihram (Hajj or Umrah). Verily, Allah sets the law according to what He wills." From the explanation above, it can be concluded that the pronunciation of marriage is something that is easy to say and a job that is recommended by Allah SWT.

Abstract

AAF Hamlet, located in Paloh Lada Village, Dewantara Subdistrict, North Aceh, has an abundant supply of coconut husk waste. However, this waste has not been utilized optimally, leading to environmental pollution and the neglect of local economic potential. Through this community service initiative, the implementing team aimed to empower local residents by introducing and training them in the processing of coconut husk waste into cocopeat—a valuable and eco-friendly growing medium. The program was carried out in three main stages: an initial awareness session to provide basic understanding, technical training on processing coconut husks into cocopeat, and production mentoring to ensure the sustainability of acquired skills. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and skills regarding coconut husk waste management. Moreover, the initiative sparked community interest in developing cocopeat as a new entrepreneurial opportunity The short-term impact included immediately applicable new skills, while the long-term impact involved the emergence of business opportunities that support household income and environmental conservation. These outcomes highlight the importance of waste processing based on local potential as an effective strategy for community empowerment and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The use of videos based on local wisdom in literature learning is an innovative approach that can enrich the interpretation of poetry and improve students' essay writing skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of local wisdom videos to enrich the interpretation of poetry in the form of essays by 10th grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Kiri Kota Subulussalam. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Informants were selected purposively according to research needs. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis followed the qualitative analysis stages outlined by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the use of local wisdom videos, such as the Peusijuk tradition, kenduri, and gotong royong, can shape more contextual, connotative, and symbolic interpretations of poetry. Students demonstrated improved abstract and reflective thinking skills and greater confidence in writing essays. Student responses were very positive because the visual media presented were relevant to their lives, making learning more active, personal, and meaningful. However, there were some challenges, such as technical limitations, differing cultural backgrounds, and low literary literacy. Despite this, teacher support, a flexible curriculum, and the integration of local values were key factors contributing to the success of this strategy. This approach strengthens understanding of poetry and fosters a deeper appreciation of literature through authentic learning experiences.
