Abstract

Improving numeracy skills is essential, given that Indonesian students’ numeracy achievements are still below standard. The Kurikulum Merdeka includes three types of assessments—Diagnostic Assessment, Formative Assessment, and Summative Assessment—forming a comprehensive series in the classroom learning process. These assessments provide an opportunity to enhance students' numeracy skills. Therefore, teachers must develop numeracy question to evaluate the learning process. SDIP YLPI, an active partner of the Mathematics Education Study Programme at Universitas Islam Riau, requires assistance in creating numeracy questions for the Kurikulum Merdeka. This community service aims to provide intensive assistance to classroom teachers at SDIP YLPI in preparing numeracy questions as learning assessments in the Kurikulum Merdeka. The activity began with the preparation of standard questions, which were then transformed into numeracy questions by focusing on the stimulus and its components. As a result of this community service, participants have successfully formulated two numeracy questions script for level 3 (grades 5-6). The questions in this assessment focus on the theme of numbers within a personal context, with an emphasis on ensuring a cognitive level of understanding. The format chosen for this assessment is multiple-choice, featuring true/false options.

Abstract

Literasi numerasi adalah kemampuan memahami dan menggunakan simbol serta angka untuk menyelesaikan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hasil survei, tingkat literasi numerasi di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah matematika dan tingkat literasi siswa. Selain itu, banyak siswa sekolah dasar yang kurang termotivasi untuk membaca dan berhitung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa melalui program "Pojok Baca," khususnya dalam membaca teks berbahasa Inggris. Sasaran kegiatan adalah siswa SD IT Diniah Pekanbaru. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup pendampingan melalui survei, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pembelajaran, dan evaluasi. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan kemandirian siswa sebesar 65% dan kemampuan literasi numerasi sebesar 55%. Program "Pojok Baca" ini berpotensi dikembangkan lebih lanjut menjadi "Pojok Digital" untuk mendukung literasi digital.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to leverage augmented reality (AR) technology in enhancing English language learning, focusing on the development and evaluation of AR-based learning media for educational use, particularly at SD IT Imam Syafe’i. The study encompassed a comprehensive approach, starting with an analysis of existing educational tools to identify the need for AR in language learning, followed by the design and development of an AR framework tailored for English education. This process included expert evaluations and revisions to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the AR tools. The implementation phase involved testing the AR media in an educational setting and analyzing its impact on students' critical thinking and digital literacy through various quantitative methods. Finally, the study evaluated the practicality and user-friendliness of the AR learning media based on student feedback, aiming to provide insights and resources for educators and institutions interested in integrating advanced technology into their teaching practices, with potential applications extending to school-based and Islamic boarding school-based university environments.

Abstract

Creative economy is a concept in the new economic era that intensifies information and creativity by relying on ideas and knowledge from human resources as the main production factors. The secret of the creative economy lies in creativity and innovation. The creative economy emphasizes the power of ideas and concepts that are based on the strength of human resources aspects. Optimizing the capacity of human resource empowerment in the village is done by providing socialization and training to process the potential that exists around the community and providing reinforcement to the community in the village. Gampong Jawa Baru is located in the coastal area of Lhokseumawe City and papaya plants are often found and planted by the residents on their yards. However, the use of papaya among the community was still less than optimal due to the lack of knowledge, ideas and creativity from the community. Therefore, it was considered necessary to conduct training related to the processing of papaya fruit, one of which is in the form of processed papaya sticks. The method of implementing the activity was carried out through the delivery of materials, discussions, and product making practices. The results of the implementation of this community service activity showed an increase in the knowledge and creativity of the community in utilizing local food, specifically papaya fruit, and the participants were very enthusiastic and even the community expected further training on product packaging and marketing.

Abstract

Unplanned waste management practices will give rise to more complex and detrimental social problems. Indiscriminate dumping of rubbish, burning rubbish and piling rubbish in public places are habits that cause air and land pollution, which ultimately has an impact on high ground water levels and causes obstruction of water channels which ultimately results in flooding. Waste management issues must be investigated and addressed by all stakeholders as soon as possible. Waste cannot be handled carelessly; rather, it requires a comprehensive approach that involves all stakeholders to solve it, turning it from a societal problem into one that adds value to managers' profits and protects the environment. Uncertainty regarding the importance of 4R-based waste management is still a major problem in society. This situation then encourages the development of new problems related to waste, such as unpleasant views, strong odors, and disturbed environmental conditions. Environmental and social problems are also caused by the increasing amount of waste thrown into landfills in the surrounding environment. The aim of this service project is to increase public awareness of the possible risks associated with waste and the importance of keeping the environment clean. As a genuine effort to control waste and offer alternative options to strengthen the community's economy, this activity will provide an overview to the community regarding the economic possibilities and opportunities of 4R-based waste management. By implementing a 4R-based waste management program, the people of Lhokseumawe City can maximize waste as a source of income. By sorting waste and selling it to collectors, people can earn additional income from waste. Apart from that, this waste management program can also open up new business opportunities for the community, such as processing organic waste into fertilizer or eco enzymes. This service activity will be carried out for one year in 2023 by producing mandatory outputs in the form of increasing the community's knowledge and skills in managing their waste using 4R, publication in the ISSN Service Journal, publication on electronic media and activity videos.

Abstract

Facebook adalah salah satu website jaringan sosial yang sekarang sedang meningkat popularitasnya dan jumlah anggotanya meningkat tajam dalam waktu yang singkat.Siswa bertugas untuk belajar dan menuntut ilmu, karena masa remaja adalah masa-masa transisiyang ingin sekali diperhatikan, facebook adalah sebuah websiteyang dapat membuat para remaja ini lebih ekspresif menonjolkan dirinya, keinginanya, dan profilnya. Sehingga para siswa ini akan terus menerus bermain facebook sehingga pekerjaan rumahnya terganggu dan membuat waktu tersita dengan banyak dengan bermain situs tersebut.Konsep teori yang peneliti gunakan adalah model komunikasi Stimulus – Respon. Untuk mengetahui stimulus yang ditimbulkan dari sebuah promosi efektif, diperlukanpengetahuan tentang faktor yang mempengaruhi seseorang dalam menerima, mempertimbangkan informasi dan mengambil keputusan dalam membeli produk yang ditawarkan.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif.Untuk mengukur kekuatan antara dua variabel, yaitu media sosialfacebook sebagai variabel independen dan motivasi belajar siswa sebagai variabel dependen, digunakan simple regression atau sering juga disebut regresi sederhana.Dari hasil Uji t diperoleh nilai thitung untuk variable Media sosial facebooksebesar 2,800 (lebih besar dari ttabel sebesar 1,983), dan PValue sebesar 0,000< 0,05,) maka hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Media sosial facebook mempengaruhi Motivasi belajar siswa SMA-IT Imam syafe’i Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris merupakan keterampilan yang penting dalam dunia akademik dan profesional. Ujian Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) digunakan sebagai tolak ukur kemampuan berbahasa Inggris. Namun, banyak siswa yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam memahami format dan strategi menjawab soal TOEFL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan TOEFL yang dilakukan di SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menghadapi TOEFL melalui pelatihan yang mencakup Listening, Structure and Written Expression, serta Reading Comprehension. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pre-test, pembelajaran strategi, latihan soal, simulasi TOEFL, dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor TOEFL siswa sebesar 95 poin, dengan peningkatan terbesar pada aspek Structure and Written Expression. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan TOEFL berbasis strategi dan latihan intensif dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam memahami dan menjawab soal dengan lebih efektif. Oleh karena itu, program pelatihan ini direkomendasikan untuk dilakukan secara berkelanjutan di sekolah-sekolah untuk meningkatkan kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi ujian TOEFL.

Abstract

The purpose of Gemini AI utilization training for English language learning was to give a service in socialization in Pondok Pesantren MoU and UIR. The goal of in this socialization was to deliver process of socialization, namely socializing values, knowledge, and skills in life. Mufida (2018) said that learning is a real situation for the citizens’ improvement in iman and takwa so they can live without changing address future threats and challenges. Questionnaire was used to measure the satisfactory activity during PkM and 27 female students involved during one day training program. As for SMA IT Iman Syafi’I Cendikia itself, they have future wish that the progress of young generation for having the paradigm that the success of a student is influenced by educators who teach in schools, especially in using modern technology. Gemini AI became one of AI tools of the program was delivered during the activities of PkM. The result of this PkM activity was motivating the students as the data result from questionnaire that the average satisfaction was high as amount 92,67%, so as summary that the implementation of PkM was successful in SMA IT Iman Syafi’I Cendikia.
