Abstract

The purpose of this study is to employ a spatial metric approach to analyse land cover/land use patterns in the Wae Riuapa watershed from 2015 to 2022. This study was carried out using two levels of analysis. First, a spatial analysis utilising Geographic Information System (GIS) software was used to identify the land cover/land use classes at the research locations in 2015 and 2022. Landsat 8 imagery from 2015 and Landsat 9 imaging from 2022 are the data used. Using spatial metrics techniques, the second step of analysis in this study examined spatial patterns of land cover and land use. With an area of 15184.70 Ha in 2015 and 13587.09 Ha in 2022, secondary dryland forests led the land cover/land use class, according to the statistics. Density and continuity are seen to be declining in spatial patterns, whereas fragmentation indicators are rising. This demonstrates that because of the fragmentation of the greatest land cover/land use class resulting from several land use conversion activities, the spatial link between patches tends to be disconnected and the distance between clusters rises.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors that influence ecotourism development around the Mount Nona Ambon Protected Forest area. This research uses the AHP. approach, which is used to obtain data through interviews and questionnaires. AHP, weighting assessment data were obtained from purposively selected respondents (purposive sampling). Respondents involved in this study were land users (stakeholders), and this process involved five people who were related to the study. The study results obtained several vital points for two attractions, Siwang and Paragliding. In Siwang, tourism prioritizes accessibility as the main factor with a weight (35%), followed by the beauty and naturalness of the landscape (23%) and geophysical land (20%). Paralayang emphasizes landscape naturalness as the top priority with a weight (31%), followed by accessibility (26%), landscape beauty (25%), and geophysical land (17%). The consistency ratio (CR) value for all criteria and indicators at both attractions shows that the weighting results are consistent (CR < 0.1).

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Coastal development in Indonesia is receiving increasing attention as the need for urban spaces oriented towards sustainability, comfort, and aesthetics increases. One relevant approach is the Waterfront City (WFC) concept, a coastal-based city development that integrates ecological, social, cultural, and economic aspects. This study aims to assess the feasibility of developing a Waterfront City in Southeast Maluku Regency by assessing the area's existing conditions, social potential, and economic prospects. The research method uses a descriptive-analytical approach through a combination of secondary data in the form of regional planning documents and primary data from field surveys, interviews, and questionnaires. The analysis is conducted based on social, economic, technical, and environmental aspects to obtain a comprehensive picture. The results show that the coastal area of ??Langgur City, particularly Watdek, Ohoijang, and Tanah Misi, faces pressure due to dense settlements above the sea, environmental degradation, and limited basic infrastructure. From a social perspective, the majority of the community supports waterfront development in the hope of increasing public space, tourist access, and new job opportunities, despite concerns regarding the relocation of traditional settlements. Local cultural factors, such as Larvul Ngabal and the principle of ain ni ain, serve as important social capital in encouraging community acceptance. From an economic perspective, the feasibility analysis shows a positive NPV, high IRR, and a B/C ratio >1, indicating that the project is financially viable. Overall, the development of Waterfront City in Southeast Maluku is considered feasible if designed in a participatory manner and based on sustainable development principles. The project's success is largely determined by the integration of spatial planning policies, community involvement, and efforts to maintain a balance between economic growth, cultural preservation, and coastal environmental sustainability.
