Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in Informatics learning for seventh and eighth grade students at the UPT SMP Negeri 1 BPR Ranau Tengah. CRT is a pedagogical approach that considers students' cultural backgrounds as an important factor in the learning process. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of CRT can increase student engagement, strengthen cultural identity, and encourage improved learning outcomes. Teachers integrate local culture into learning projects, utilize community-based technology, and implement differentiated approaches based on student backgrounds. This approach creates a more inclusive and participatory classroom environment; previously passive students become more confident because the material feels relevant to their lives. Teachers also become more responsive to students' diverse needs and potential, enabling them to design adaptive and contextual learning activities. Informatics learning serves not only as a means of transferring technological knowledge but also as a platform for building cultural awareness, collaborative skills, and critical thinking skills. These findings underscore the importance of integrating local values and cultural wisdom in 21st-century learning. Therefore, support from school principals, communities, and educational stakeholders is needed for the sustainable development of culture-based learning practices.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran digital berbasis Smart Apps Creator (SAC) pada mata pelajaran Sistem Operasi guna meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (RD) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X PPLG SMKN 9 Semarang dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan angket yang divalidasi oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan respon siswa. Hasil validasi ahli media menunjukkan rata-rata persentase kelayakan sebesar 82,5% dengan kategori sangat layak, sedangkan hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 83,8% dengan kategori sangat layak. Respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran ini juga menunjukkan hasil positif dengan persentase kelayakan berada pada kategori sangat layak. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis SAC efektif, layak, dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif inovatif dalam pembelajaran Sistem Operasi untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop Powtoon-assisted learning media to improve critical thinking skills among eighth-grade science subjects at Junior High School 1 BPR Ranau Tengah. Methodology: This qualitative study uses Powtoon software to design instructional media. Data were collected using interview guides, observation sheets, and documentation. Miles and Huberman's interactive model was applied to the data analysis. Primary data were collected through field interviews and classroom observations; Secondary data is obtained from books, journals, and online sources. Main Findings: Powtoon-assisted learning media significantly increased student engagement, understanding, and motivation in science learning. Students exhibit better critical thinking skills, especially in analyzing, evaluating, and articulating ideas logically. Teachers reported increased student participation and enthusiasm. Despite technical challenges such as internet access and device limitations, the overall response to Powtoon media was positive and indicated a significant improvement in learning effectiveness. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study introduces Powtoon as an innovative tool specifically applied to enhance critical thinking in science at the junior high school level. Unlike previous research that focused on general understanding or motivation, this study highlights Powtoon's role in developing high-level thinking. It contributes to the practice of digital education by bridging animation-based media with the development of cognitive skills.

Abstract

Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi di Fakultas Pendidikan Matematika Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Teknologi Informasi (FPMIPATI) UPGRIS selama ini dilakukan secara manual, yang rentan terhadap subjektivitas, memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama sehingga kurang efisien. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk membuat Sistem Pendukung Keputusan Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi berbasis web menerapkan metode SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) dalam menaikkan tingkat objektivitas dan efisiensi pada proses seleksi. Metode pengembangan sistem mempergunakan model waterfall, yang mencakup tahap analisis kebutuhan, desain, implementasi, pengujian, serta pemeliharaan. Sistem ini mencakup fitur pengelolaan data sub kriteria, kriteria, alternatif (mahasiswa), penilaian, serta perhitungan otomatis melalui penerapan metode SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) dalam menghasilkan perangingan mahasiswa berprestasi. Hasil pengujian UAT (User Acceptance Testing) serta Black Box memperlihatkan bahwasanya sistem berfungsi secara baik, dengan tingkat keberhasilan 100% dan persentase ketercapaian 90,1%. Validator juga menilai sistem sangat layak dengan persentase 91,67%. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi yang transparan, adil, dan terukur untuk pemilihan mahasiswa berprestasi di lingkungan Fakultas Pendidikan Matematika Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam serta Teknologi Informasi UPGRIS.
