Abstract

The problem of material waste in construction projects will be difficult to avoid as it goes along with construction waste. One of the unavoidable problems in a construction project is repeating work or reworking. Rework will also affect the emergence of waste. In a series of construction project activities, inventory is always required to anticipate needs in the ongoing construction project process. Without an inventory, a construction project will encounter the risk that one day it will not be able to meet its needs. This research aimed to determine the correlation between rework and inventory to waste at the Ciputra Hospital Surabaya construction project. It employed a quantitative method by collecting data through a questionnaire distributed to 30 respondents in the project environment. Data analysis involved multiple linear regression analyzes and the SPSS 25 software program. The results of the t-test showed that rework partially had a positive effect on waste with a t-count value of 8.528, while inventory also had a positive effect on waste with a t-count value of 8.661. Simultaneous test results indicated that rework and inventory had a significant effect on waste, with an F-count value of 37.442. Keywords: Waste; Rework; Inventory

Abstract

Wahid Hasyim is a phenomenal figure in the history of the nation's journey, even though it only lasted a short time because he died when he was 39 years old. In the midst of his many thinkers and work in fulfilling independence, Wahid Hasyim also contributed to the nation's next journey. Because even though his body is gone, ideas are continued by subsequent generations, especially by his own son, KH. Abdurrahman Wahid. In the context of education, he also made many changes in his thinking. This can be seen after returning from Mecca when making changes to his father's Islamic boarding school, for example his teaching methods. As well as opening up freedom for students to study various scientific disciplines, especially in mastering foreign languages, Arabic and English, but still using Indonesian well. The four pillars of education (religion, development of students' potential, social and national spirit) contributed by Wahid Hasyim in the Islamic education system are things that need to be continued amidst the nation's decline. Wahid Hasyim teaches education with an attitude of respect for differences, a sense of nationalism, pluralism and multiculturalism in Indonesia.

Abstract

Agriculture is one of the mainstays of the country's economy, especially the horticulture sub-sector such as fruits and vegetables. Tomato plants are one of the leading commodities. However, the failure of tomato cultivation due to the many types of diseases that exist is still an obstacle and interferes with plant growth, reduces yields, and even causes tomato plant death. This study aims to detect tomato leaf diseases by comparing the performance of the two YOLOv5 and YOLOv8 models. The purpose of comparing models is to determine the level of accuracy and to conclude which version of YOLO provides a better level of accuracy in the hope of helping to determine which method is most appropriate and appropriate to needs. The results showed that both YOLOv5m and YOLOv8m models performed very well in detection. Both models showed high precision, recall, and mAP values. YOLOv8m is better able to detect all objects in the image where the precision value is superior to YOLOv5m. YOLOv8m is superior in precision with a value of 0.95%, a difference of 0.02% with YOLOv5m and mAP50:95 which is 0.92%, a difference of 0.02% with YOLOv5m which means that YOLOv8m is better at identifying objects very precisely and objects of various sizes, but YOLOv8m requires a slightly longer training time than YOLOv5m. YOLOv8m is better able to detect all objects in the image where the precision value is 0.02% superior to YOLOv5m

Abstract

The closure of educational institutions due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant shift from traditional face-to-face learning to online activities. This unexpected change has brought about various challenges, issues, potentials, and other factors pertaining to the implementation of online teaching and learning. This research aims to elucidate the learning experiences of college students in Indonesia. A narrative inquiry approach employing written reflections and semi-structured interviews is utilized to investigate the online learning encounters of 23 university students studying at an Islamic education department at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Indonesia. The findings of this study reveal that social media platforms have predominantly shaped the landscape of higher education learning experiences for the participating students. Despite admitting to being ill-prepared and facing challenges such as power supply disruptions, unstable internet connections, and limited access to digital devices, the students exhibited a notable enthusiasm for engaging in online learning activities. When sharing their opinions on instructional methods, a majority of them expressed a preference for the traditional face-to-face classroom interaction. These findings underscore the practical need for teachers and relevant stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of online learning endeavors in Indonesia.

Abstract

During construction, waste often occurs, not only material waste, but waste can also occur in activities that do not provide added value. Waste can result in cost losses and time delays in implementing a construction project. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a method that can be used to minimize waste by classifying activities into value added, non value added but necessary, and non value added. Mechanical engineering work was identified in the Pondok Tjandra Sidoarjo project, namely value added as many as 69 activities (67.65%), and non value added s as many as 17 activities (16.67%), while non value added but necessary as many as 16 activities (15.69%). The largest percentage of Non Value Added (NVA) is in AC work, namely 23.53%. The activities that are classified as waste are the preparation of labor tools/equipment, work delays due to waiting for the dismantling of formwork left over from structural work, breaking down light brick walls for refrigerant pipe lines conduilt pipes, and activities for the process of breaking down light brick walls again.

Abstract

The construction project is one of the jobs that demands the final result to align with the planning, necessitating a check on the performance obtained during the project to address any deviations from the initial plan. The Earned Value method is one of the techniques that can be used to assess project performance based on cost and time. The objective of implementing an evaluation with the Earned Value method is to understand the project's performance based on value variances and performance indexes and to identify solutions as early as possible if the project is experiencing delays. Calculations using the Earned Value method are based on budgeted cost of work scheduled (BCWS), cost for work performed (BCWP), and actual cost of work performed (ACWP). The research results on the Gunung Anyar apartment project reveal that the project experienced a delay of 3 weeks from the initial plan and a cost overrun of IDR 21,863,495,000 from the budget of IDR 19,533,411,725 (-12%). From the evaluation, it is evident that the Earned Value method needs to be applied during the ongoing project, especially when facing delays, to find solutions as early as possible to overcome the issues and prevent further significant losses.
