Abstract

Availability of infrastructure is very important in efforts to reduce disaster risk, especially in education units. Schools that have adequate infrastructure can minimize the impact of disasters. The purpose of this study was to determine school preparedness in terms of the availability of supporting infrastructure in dealing with disasters in Banda Aceh City. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey research type. The sampling technique used Cluster Sampling with a total sample of 9 schools from various levels of education. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with a Guttman scale. The data analysis technique uses a simple percentage formula. The results of the study show that, as a whole, schools in Banda Aceh City are generally in the ready category as seen from the availability of infrastructure in dealing with disasters with a percentage of 83.3%.

Abstract

Problems related to the lack of public understanding about how to process organic waste into something useful and highly useful are problems faced by the general public in environmental conservation. This community service aims to educate waste management and ecoenzyme making training targeting students in schools. and make direct practice on how to process it correctly. Community service is carried out at SMPN 1 Batussalam. Participants in this training activity are all students. The forms of community service activities are socialization, waste management education and ecoenzyme making training. The results of the Ecoenzyme community service are natural liquids resulting from the fermentation of organic waste such as sugar or molasses, fruit or vegetable waste, and water (AC waste, rainwater, tap water) which can be used in many ways and become goods that have high utility value. The manufacturing process takes 3 months with materials from organic waste residue. The equipment needed such as containers, teleman knives and duct tape. Community service suggestions are to provide more intensive socialization to the community about the use of waste so that it has economic value

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country consisting of 17,000 islands with a sea area of ​​around 70%. As a maritime country with a coastline of 108,000 km and making Indonesia the country with the longest coastline. The coastline is the boundary line between land and sea water which has a non-permanent or dynamic nature. Changes in this coastline are usually dominated by erosion and sedimentation phenomena that occur along the coastline, in addition to these two phenomena, natural disasters such as tsunamis can also have an impact on a coastline. As in late 2004, Aceh experienced a fairly severe tsunami with a strength reaching 9.1 magnitudes which caused almost the entire southwestern part of Aceh to be damaged and Lampuuk beach is one of the beaches that has clearly experienced changes due to the impact of the tsunami. A coastline can be measured for changes by comparing one period of a coastline with another period. A geographic information system is a computer-based mapping system used to enter, store, recall, manage, analyze, and produce geographically referenced data or geospatial data. By using GIS we can analyze coastline changes by comparing multitemporal image data. This study aims to determine the changes in the coastline that occurred on Lampuuk Beach, Lhoknga District, Aceh Besar Regency. This study uses Google Earth image data from 2005-2025 to determine the changes in the coastline that occurred and to determine the extent of abrasion and accretion that occurred on Lampuuk Beach using the digital shoreline analysis system (DSAS) method. The results of this study indicate that within a period of 20 years along the Lampuuk coastline, erosion and sedimentation phenomena in the form of abrasion and accretion have occurred, where the highest abrasion value along Lampuuk Beach reached 1.09 hectares and the highest accretion value along Lampuuk Beach reached 2.88 hectares.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem plays a vital role in maintaining coastal environmental balance and supporting the socio-economic life of local communities. However, mangrove degradation due to illegal logging, land conversion, and global climate change remains a serious issue in Indonesia. This community service aimed to describe the benefits of mangroves and the implementation of conservation activities through mangrove education and planting in Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar. The method used was descriptive qualitative with literature study and field observation, involving students and lecturers of Geography Education FKIP Syiah Kuala University and local community members. The results showed that education and mangrove planting increased participants’ understanding of the ecological and economic functions of mangroves, fostered environmental awareness, and supported the restoration of degraded coastal ecosystems. This activity also built collaboration between universities and local communities in achieving sustainable mangrove conservation.

Abstract

The lack of optimization in the teaching models used by teachers has led to low student learning outcomes. This is evident from students' difficulties in answering exam questions, which affect their learning efficiency and performance. Selecting an appropriate teaching model is crucial for enhancing students' understanding of the material. This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry-based learning model using Google Classroom on the geography learning outcomes of 11th-grade social science students at SMA Negeri 1 Meukek. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the nonequivalent control group design. The study population consists of 11th-grade students, with purposive sampling selecting class XI IPS 1 as the experimental group and XI IPS 2 as the control group. Data was collected through multiple-choice tests, while data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the average pre-test and post-test scores for the experimental class were 50.5 and 77.25, while the control class scored 48.5 and 72.5, respectively. The t-test results indicated that tcount = 2.07 was greater than ttable = 1.68, leading to the acceptance of Ha. Thus, the inquiry-based learning model using Google Classroom is proven to be more effective in improving student learning outcomes compared to the small group discussion model. Therefore, this model can be considered an alternative for geography learning to enhance students' understanding and academic achievement.Kurangnya optimalisasi model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari kesulitan siswa dalam menjawab soal ujian, yang berdampak pada efisiensi dan hasil belajar mereka. Pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry berbasis Google Classroom terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri 1 Meukek. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis quasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI, dengan teknik purposive sampling yang menentukan kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pilihan ganda, sedangkan teknik analisis data meliputi uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pre-test dan post-test kelas eksperimen adalah 50,5 dan 77,25, sedangkan kelas kontrol 48,5 dan 72,5. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan thitung = 2,07 lebih besar dari ttabel = 1,68, sehingga Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran inquiry berbasis Google Classroom terbukti lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan model diskusi kelompok kecil. Oleh karena itu, model ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran geografi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan prestasi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model assisted by audiovisual media in improving the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade social science students at SMA Negeri 1 Setia Bakti, Aceh Jaya. Based on initial observations, learning at this school remained conventional, requiring a more interactive approach. The CIRC model was applied to encourage students to be more active in reading and writing, thereby enhancing their understanding of the material. This study employed a classroom action research (CAR) method with three cycles. The research subjects were 21 eleventh-grade social science students. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, observations of teacher and student activities, assessments of teachers' teaching skills, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive percentage statistics.The results showed an improvement in students learning outcomes, with individual mastery increasing from 43% in cycle I to 76% in cycle II and 91% in cycle III. Classical mastery also increased from 50% in cycle I to 70% in cycle II and 90% in cycle III. Teacher and student activities increased from 8 activities in cycle I to 12 activities in cycle II and 14 activities in cycle III. The teachers teaching skills improved from a moderate category (2.50) in cycle I to good (3.21) in cycle II and very good (3.54) in cycle III. A total of 90.5% of students responded positively to the CIRC model assisted by audiovisual media, as it was considered enjoyable and facilitated material comprehension.

Abstract

Prestasi belajar adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki mahasiswa setelah menerima pengalaman belajar. Lingkungan belajar dan minat belajar adalah faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Masalah penelitian ialah apakah terdapat hubungan antaran lingkungan belajar dan minat belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa Jurusan Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi FKIP USK angkatan 2016-2017. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui hubungan yang signifikan antara lingkungan belajar dan minat belajar dengan indeks prestasi mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi FKIP USK angkatan 2016-2017. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2016 dan 2017 Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi FKIP USK yang berjumlah 113 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Randam Sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 91 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup berbantuan media whatsapp dan google form. Analisis data dilakukan dengan penghitungan korelasi spearman rank dan uji signifikansi. Hasil penghitungan korelasi lingkungan belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif sebesar 0,67, korelasi minat belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif sebesar 0,66. Nilai penghitungan signifikansi lingkungan belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif diperoleh sebesar 6,36 dan nilai signifikansi minat belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif diperoleh sebesar 6,25 dengan Ftabel = 1,96 dengan kriteria Fhitung Ftabel sehinga Ha diterima. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara lingkungan belajar dan minat belajar dengan indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi FKIP USK Angkatan 2016-2017.Kata Kunci:Hubungan, Lingkungan Belajar, Minat Belajar, Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif

Abstract

ABSTRAK Team Games Turnamen (TGT) adalah pembelajaran kooperatif yang menciptakan suasana aktif yang melibatkan kelompok, terdapat diskusi kelompok dan diakhiri suatu game (turnamen). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui (1) Peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS, (2) Aktivitas guru dan siswa,(3) keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran (4) Respons siswa terhadap model pembelajaran Team game turnamen. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII SMP IT Dayah Darul Muttaqien Pidie Jaya berjumlah 22 siswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik observasi, tes dan angket. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar pre-test dan post-test berisi 10 soal, lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar pengamatan keterampilan guru, dan angket respons siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) ketuntasan individual siklus I 50, siklus II menjadi 69 pada siklus III menjadi 90. Ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I 30 pada siklus II 50 dan pada siklus III sebanyak 95 (2) Aktivitas guru dan siswa pada siklus I 6 aktivitas tidak tuntas pada siklus II turun menjadi 3 aktivitas tidak tuntas pada siklus III semua aktivitas tuntas. (3) keterampilan guru meningkat dari siklus I 2,43 kategori sedang pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 3,23 kategori baik dan pada siklus III meningkat menjadi 3,7 kategori sangat baik. (4) Respons yang diberikan siswa untuk model pembelajaran Team game turnamen dengan bantuan kotak kartu misteri adalah 93,6 siswa menyatakan sangat menarik dan membantu siswa dalam memahami materi disampaikan. Dapat disimpulkan, penerapan model pembelajaran Team game turnamen berbatuan media kotak kartu misteri dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPS terpadu SMP IT Dayah Darul Muttaqien Pidie Jaya menjadi lebih baik.Kata kunci: Penerapan, Model Pembelajaran, Team Game Turnamen, Pemahaman Belajar
