Abstract

This research’s aim is to find out the effect of pyrolisis temperature to the biochar product from chocolate’s rind. The sample of rind of 20 kg is come from Indrapuri, Great Aceh. The water level of the sample is determined and then it was pyrolised with pyrolisator at the temperatures of 300, 400, and 500oC. The biochar gotten is then measured its rendemen and characterized which comprised of flying substance level, ash, bonded carbon, nitrogen, phosphor, potassium, and then the chemical substances were identified by using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GCMS). Pyrolisis product of biochars at the temperatures of 300, 400, and 500oC were gained rendemen of 8.98; 8.45, and 8.35% (w/w) in a row. These biochars have physical appearance of black with brittle texture. It were gained biochars’s characteristic product of water level at 3.93% (300oC), 2.43% (400oC), and 1.50% (500oC) respectively; flying substance level at 47.13% (300oC), 29.58% (400oC) and 25.48% (500oC); ash level at15.70% (300oC), 17.14% (400oC), and 18.02% (500oC), bonded carbon at 37.16% (300oC), 53.37% (400oC), and 56.32% (500oC). The highest level of nitrogen (3.51%) is gained with biochar’s pyrolisis product at the temperature 300oC, meanwhile for the 500 dan 400oC, their nitrogen level are 1.29 and 0.86%. Phosphor level at biochar’s pyrolisis product at the temperature of 300, 400 and 500oC in a row are 0.90; 0.43; 1.39% and potassium level at this biochar are 3.34,4.73, and 4.41% consecutively. GCMS analysis result to the biochar’s pyrolisis product at the temperature of 300oC was identified 40 compounds with their main contents is 4-beta-5-dihydroneronin (22.02%), whereas at the temperatures of 400 dan 500oC respective are identified of 11 and 23 compounds, however their main contents is oleat acid with the level of 62.47 dan 49.84% in a row. It can be concluded that biochar’s characteristics of chocolate’s rind is determined by pyrolisis temperature.

Abstract

The research aims to identify antifeedant bioactive substance in liquid smoke derived from pyrolisis of organic municipal waste. Samples were pyrolyzed in drum reactor at 505oC for five hours to produce char and condensed smoke turning into liquid smoke. The liquid smoke components are separated into n-heksan, etil asetat, metanol and water consecutively. The result is thickened with rotary evaporator. The resulting crude’s activity towards Spodoptera litura Linn larvae was tested with antifeedant method. The chemical components of active fraction are identified with GCMS. Crude resulting from thickening fractions of n-heksan, etil asetat, metanol and water are 0.3465 g; 2.3736 g; 0.8775 g and 0.3679 g consecutively. The highest activity of liquid smoke, fractions of water, methanol, etil asetat and n-heksan towards S. litura larvae at 1.00% concentration are 44.68%; 62.07%; 80.65%; 28.57% and 23.40%. Result of probit analysis towards these fractions shows that the highest activity is methanol fraction with EI50 value at 0.71. Identification with GCMS shows that the fractions contain 14 types of bioactive antifeedant substances with ?-butyrolacton as the main component

Abstract

Soursop plant parts that are often used by the community, namely the fruit and leaves. Ripe soursop fruit is usually developed to produce juice and lunkhead products. Ripe soursop fruit contains vitamin C which is known to have a wrong function, namely to increase immunity, so that it can protect the body from pathogens. Soursop leaves are often used by the community in the form of a decoction of the leaves for traditional medicine. The research about antioxidant test on ethanol extract of soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn) had been conducted using DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhdirazyl). This research aims to indicate the antioxidant activity of soursop leaves. Samples were collected from Lambaro Skep, a region of Banda Aceh. Then, the sample was dried by air before macerated using ethanol 96%. After that, the filtrate is evaporated using rotary evaporator and concentrated again using a hairdryer. The concentrated extract is then tested for antioxidant activity using DPPH method at maximum wavelength of 517 nm. The result shows young soursop leaves extract has 14.462 ppm of IC50 value, while old soursop leaves extract has IC50 value of 9.626 ppm.

Abstract

The Student worksheet based on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) has been prepared, validated, and tested on students at SMAN 5 Banda Aceh. The worksheet guided the students to design a salt-making tool with a sunlight-gathering mirror. The worksheet was developed using the ADDIE model of the research and development (R&D) method. The subjects of the study consisted of 31 students divided into some groups consisting of 6 participants for each. The students were given problems and examples of salt-producing tools using a sunlight-collecting mirror. The purpose of this activity was to let them observe and modify according to their creativity. Based on the assessment of the tool model produced by students, the gained score reached an average score of 91 (very good). After the learning process, the learning outcomes increased with an average of 42 to 70. The science learning motivation and creativity scores of the students after the implementation reached 76 (good) and 79 (good).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine PjBL-STEM implementations effect to improve science process skills and students’ learning outcomes on the material of substances and their characteristics. The type of research used was a quasі-experiment with a pre-test post-test control group design. The research subjects were students of class VII Darul Ihsan Islamic Junior High School Aceh Besar, which consisted of eight classes. The sample group was determined by purposive sampling technique so that two classes were obtained as the research sample, namely class VII-G as an experimental class and VII-H as a control class. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL-STEM model could increase students’ science process skills. The average students’ science process skills in the control and experimental classes were 53 and 55 with sufficient categories. However, after implementing the Discovery Learning model in the control class and PjBL-STEM in the experimental class, the students' science process skills' average score increased to 76 with good categories and 86 with excellent categories. The PjBL-STEM model was also able to improve students’ learning outcomes. Based on the results of the t-test analysis with a significant score of 0.05, it showed that the post-test scores in both classes were obtained t-count (2.011) > t-table (1.666), so it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the two classes. N-gain testing showed an increase in students’ learning outcomes between the control and experimental classes with scores of 74 and 79. This study concluded that the PjBL-STEM model could improve science process skills and students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai analisis kandungan hara makro dan mikro pada pupuk kompos campuran kulit pisang dan cangkang telur ayam bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar hara yang terkandung di dalam pupuk kompos tersebut. Proses pembuatan kompos dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan kulit pisang dan cangkang telur ayam yang telah dihaluskan dan ditambahkan EM-4 ke dalam wadah, terdiri atas 3 variasi dan 2 kali ulangan. Total berat komposisi tiap variasi yaitu 4 kg. Pengomposan berlangsung selama 31 hari. Setelah kompos matang, dilakukan pengujian terhadap pH dan kandungan hara C-orgnaik, nitrogen, kalium, phosfor, kalsium dan rasio C/N di laboratorium. Pengujian pH menunjukkan tingkat pH tergolong basa yaitu pada skala 10 dan 11. Hasil uji anova pada parameter C-organik, N dan rasio C/N menunjukkan adanya pengaruh antara variasi bahan pupuk organik terhadap kandungan hara pupuk organik. Hasil uji anova  pada parameter P, K dan Ca tidak menunjukkanadanya pengaruh antara variasi bahan pupuk organik terhadap kandungan hara pupuk organik. Hasil rata-rata analisis nitrogen (% W/W) perlakuan 1, 2 dan 3 secara berurutan adalah 0,51; 0,22; dan 0,23. Hasil rata-rata analisis C-organik (% W/W) secara berturut-turut adalah 33,83; 8,03; dan 5,25. Kadar rata-rata phosfor (% W/W)  secara berturut-turut adalah 1,15; 0,34; dan 0,69. Kandungan rata-rata kalium (% W/W) sebesar 2,79; 1,13; dan 0,82. Kadar rata-rata kalsium (% W/W) secara berurutan 21,41; 21,42; dan 27,46. Rata-rata rasio C/N (%) yang diperoleh secara berurutan, yaitu 67,06; 36,5; dan 22,87. Parameter analisis untuk P dan K menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan ketentuan SNI kompos.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep yang masih kurang mengenai materi koloid terjadi karena pembelajaran di kelas masih menggunakan model pembelajaran konvesional, sehingga menyebabkan peserta didik merasa kurang bersemangat dan kurang aktif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aktivitas dan ketuntasan hasil belajar seta mendeskripsikan tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran talking stick pada materi koloid. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 35 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan angket. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi aktivitas peserta didik, tes hasil belajar dan pengisian angket tanggapan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh aktivitas peserta didik pada pertemuan pertama persentase sebesar 91% dan kedua 92,25%, hasil belajar peserta didik diperoleh persentase 77,41% belum tuntas dan respon peserta didik diperoleh persentase sebesar 84%. Sehingga dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran talking stick pada materi koloid dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas peserta didik memperoleh kategori sangat baik, hasil belajar peserta didik tidak mencapai ketuntasan, dan tanggapan peserta didik memperoleh kategori sangat baikABSTRACTThe lack of understanding of the concept regarding colloid material occurs because classroom learning still uses conventional learning models, causing students to feel less enthusiastic and less active in participating in learning. This study aims to analyze the activity and completeness of learning outcomes and to describe students' responses to the application of the talking stick learning model on colloid material. The sample of this study was 35 students. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets, learning outcomes tests, and questionnaires. The data collection technique was carried out by observing the activities of students, testing the learning outcomes and filling out questionnaire responses from students. The results of this study showed that the activity of students at the first meeting was 91% and the second 92.25%, the learning outcomes of students were 77.41% incomplete and the student's response was 84%. So that by using the talking stick learning model on colloid material it can be concluded that the activities of students get very good categories, student learning outcomes do not achieve completeness, and the responses of students get very good categories.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan berpikir siswa dapat disebabkan oleh strategi yang diterapkan guru dalam pembelajaran belum berorientasi pada pemberdayaan berpikir tingkat tinggi, dan hanya menekankan pada pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penerapan media video berbasis powerpoint pada materi larutan asam-basa untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimen menggunakan desain one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI yang berjumlah 130 peserta didik yang terbagi ke dalam 5 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini di pilih dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu peserta didik kelas XI MIA 1 yang berjumlah 15 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini yaitu tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk 14 soal pilihan ganda, lembar observasi aktivitas dan angket tanggapan peserta didik. Data hasil belajar dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dua pihak setelah uji prasyarat terpenuhi. Hasil analisis data diperoleh 20,073 dengan α=0,05 dan dk=14 maka diperoleh=2,14 sehingga disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah dibelajarkan melalui penerapan media video berbasis powerpoint pada materi larutan asam basa. Data aktivitas dan tanggapan peserta didik diolah secara deskriptif sehingga diperoleh hasil bahwa 85,95% peserta didik melakukan aktivitas yang diharapkan serta tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan media video berbasis powerpoint diperoleh sebesar 93,17% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Pembelajaran online sangat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Proses pembelajaran online yang sangat berbeda dengan tatap muka menuntut siswa untuk dapat beradaptasi dengan baik. Proses pembelajaran dilakukan secara online, sebagian besar siswa akan kesulitan memahami materi sehingga hasil belajar yang diperoleh kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil belajar dan kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswa selama pembelajaran online. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah analisis dokumen dan wawancara terstruktur. Data yang telah ditemukan selanjutnya diolah dengan teknik reduksi data, penyajian dan verifikasi. Peneliti menemukan bahwa setiap mata kuliah menyebarkan nilai dari A sampai BC. Hasil analisis data wawancara menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan mahasiswa selama pembelajaran online adalah lemahnya layanan internet, mahasiswa kesulitan mengatur waktu, ciri-ciri materi sulit diajarkan secara online, dosen hanya menyediakan bahan ajar, tugas terlalu banyak, dan tugas relatif singkat. waktu pengumpulan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Kimia tergolong sangat tinggi.

Abstract

The significance of critical thinking as one of the 21st  century skills makes the Indonesian Ministry of  Education  and  Culture  integrate  Higher  Order Thinking  Skill  (HOTS)  in the  latest national curriculum. Students critical thinking skills to working on HOTS assessment are fundamental, especially in learning chemistry lessons. The research purpose is to analyze the quality of HOTS chemistry questions/ assessment and to observe the teachers and students responses to computer-based test instruments developed using Wondershare Quiz Maker Software (WQM). The research method used Research And Development (R & D) Borg & Gall model. The sample was determined by Random Sampling Technique in total 104 students from several high school in Banda Aceh, it is SMAN 4, SMAN 5, SMAN 8 and SMAN 11. The data analysis technique was through calculating the percentage score of the assessment quality and analyzing the question items quantitatively such as validity, reliability, difficulty level of the questions, differential question power tests and distracting question power using proanaltes. The results showed that the quality of HOTS in chemical questions tested (for the solubility subject and the solubility product constant in terms of qualitative analysis of the items) in the validation test gained average score, it is 98.1%, means the items are qualified categories. In terms of quantitative analysis question items, it reached 95% valid and 5% invalid and the reliability test score was 0.740, are in high category. The questions difficulty covers 95% medium and 5% are in difficult level. The questions differential power for each category is 65% good, 30% medium and 5% less. The teachers and students response to the development of the computer-based HOTS test instrument using WQM software was positive and show good result. The teacher response positively on score strongly agreed was 83.3% and agreed 16.7%, while the students response on score strongly agreed was 27.2% and 63.3% agreed. The research conclusion there is significant  students critical thinking skills improved  (in learning the solubility and the solubility product constant chapter) by using HOTS assessment using Wondershare Quiz Maker software.
