Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explore students' communication skills using the Homogeneity Psycho Cognition (HPC) learning strategy in elementary schools, particularly in the context of physical Education. Communication skills are a crucial element in 21st-century Education, as they support the development of other skills such as critical and creative thinking. However, there is still a significant deficiency in communication skills among learners, especially at the elementary school level. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, where data collection is carried out through questionnaires, while data analysis uses descriptive statistical methods with percentages. The results indicate that the HPC learning strategy improved students' communication skills significantly. Specifically, the HPC strategy enhanced students' communication skills more effectively. The study also found that HPC, which fosters student collaboration, can cultivate adequate communication skills in all students. However, there are hindering factors such as limited interaction between students and the learning environment, and economic burdens that can lead to emotional issues for parents, affecting the children's emotions. Therefore, implementing the HPC strategy in physical Education is highly recommended to enhance communication and emotional skills among elementary school students. This research provides important insights for educators in designing more effective learning strategies to support the development of students' communication skills.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in writing and publishing systematic and high-quality scientific papers. The target group was 31 teachers at State Senior High School 14, Central Maluku, who participated in four days of training using training, discussion, and hands-on mentoring. The activity process included pre-writing, writing, and post-writing stages, beginning with a pre-test and ending with a post-test to measure the improvement in participants' competency. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in the understanding of scientific paper structure, the ability to develop article outlines and drafts, and increased teacher confidence in writing and publishing scientific papers. Questionnaire data showed a high level of positive responses for most indicators, although several aspects still need improvement, such as understanding plagiarism and publication confidence. In addition, this activity also encouraged collaborative interactions between teachers and fostered an academic culture within the school environment. In conclusion, this training was effective in improving teachers' scientific writing competency, but follow-up in the form of ongoing mentoring and advanced training is needed to achieve more optimal and equitable results

Abstract

The correlation between emotional intelligence and learning outcomes of elementary school students in physical education is still minimal. Therefore, a deeper exploration in this study is carried out to reveal it. This study aims to analyze the correlation between emotional intelligence and students' physical education learning outcomes in elementary schools. This correlational study aims to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and elementary school students' learning outcomes in physical education. The ANOVA correlation between emotional intelligence and physical education learning outcomes shows a significance value of 0.224, greater than alpha 0.05. It means that there is no correlation between emotional intelligence and students’ cognitive learning outcomes in physical education subjects. Factors that contribute to the absence of a relationship between emotional intelligence and learning outcomes include implementing online learning that is less than optimal because it is not supported by adequate facilities and learning participation by all students. The other factors are reduced or limited interaction between students and the learning environment, the economic burden that causes parents’ emotional problem that impacts children's emotions. The contribution of emotional intelligence to the achievement of learning outcomes, especially in physical education subjects, is as much as 2%, and other factors contribute as much as 98%.

Abstract

Studying the impact of social interactions on sports organisations’ performance in Ambon City remains a relatively unexplored area. This research aims to address this gap by investigating the influence of social interactions among administrators, coaches, and athletes on sports organisations' performance. Additionally, it explores the disparity in performance levels between individual and team sports. The study focused on sport administrators in Ambon City affiliated with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). Fifteen participants were selected through purposive sampling, comprising administrators, coaches, and athletes from various sports branches, including athletics, taekwondo, boxing, water skiing, and football. Findings suggest that sports organisation management in Ambon City has not yet achieved optimal levels of effectiveness and facilitation, affecting the dynamics of group sports in particular. Team sports display a higher dependency on teamwork and board roles, notably the coach’s role. Despite suboptimal management, athletes retain the freedom to determine their paths to success or achievement. However, an imbalance exists between expectations and obligations in social relationships, except for the coach-athlete relationship. In summary, this study sheds light on the role of social interactions in sports organisations’ performance and highlights the differences between individual and team sports in Ambon City. These insights may serve as a foundation for more effective management strategies to enhance sports organisations’ performance in the future.
