Abstract

Pemahaman budaya penting dalam mempelajari bahasa Jepang untuk keberhasilan komunikasi antara penutur dan mitra tutur. Setiap budaya memiliki ciri khas yang berbeda, yang dapat menimbulkan persepsi berbeda terhadap budaya lain. Untuk mengatasi perbedaan ini, diperlukan pemahaman lintas budaya. Dengan memahami keterkaitan antara bahasa dan budaya, pembelajar bahasa Jepang dapat mengurangi permasalahan saat berinteraksi dengan orang Jepang. Kegiatan PPM ini dilakukan secara offline dalam bentuk seminar dan workshop. Seminar diisi oleh Fukunaga Yuka, Ph.D., yang memaparkan teori pemahaman lintas budaya dan pendidikan bahasa Jepang, serta empat narasumber lainnya dari berbagai perguruan tinggi yang memiliki Program Studi Bahasa Jepang, yaitu Fatmawati membahas masalah komunikasi di tempat kerja bagi staff yang bukan penutur asli bahasa Jepang, Parastuti membahas tentang pemahaman lintas budaya bagi mahasiswa magang, Sherly membahas mengenai strategi komunikasi dan adaptasi budaya peserta magang di Jepang, dan Lisda membahas tentang penanda wacana. Setelah itu, Fukunaga Yuka, Ph.D. memberikan seminar kedua tentang praktik pemahaman lintas budaya. Selanjutnya, diadakan workshop berupa FGD (Forum Group Discussion) yang dibagi menjadi empat kelompok, dipimpin oleh masing-masing narasumber, dengan hasil diskusi dipresentasikan oleh perwakilan anggota. Sebelum kegiatan PPM selesai, para peserta mengisi kuesioner yang berisi tanggapan terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan PPM serta pandangan mereka tentang pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pemahaman lintas budaya. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya antusiasme dan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam mempelajari pemahaman lintas budaya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang serta terintegrasi dalam setiap mata kuliah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Project Based Learning on improving the presentation skills of C class student who take the Kaiwa VI lesson on the 2021/2022 academic year. This research was motivated by the problem in the Kaiwa VI course, including: the lack of students' ability to think critically in solving a problem, the lack of understand the content of research so that they are not optimal in presenting research results. Project Based Learning is a student-centered learning model to conduct a deep investigation of a topic. The method used is Pre-Experimental Design with the research form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this research is class C students who take Kaiwa VI courses. The results showed that the use of the Project Based Learning model in the Kaiwa VI course could improve students' presentation skills. This is shown in the results of the posttest data analysis, which is 8.6 points higher than the pretest. Student responses regarding the implementation of the Project Based Learning model are fairly good.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the declining quality of written communication in society, especially in digital interactions, which often leads to misunderstandings. The aim of this program is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the community, specifically members of the Family Welfare Program (PKK) in Pulogadung District, regarding the ethics of written communication. The method used was a counseling and workshop approach, with effectiveness measured through a pre-test and post-test design administered to 18 participants. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, with the average score rising from 31.17 in the pre-test to 41.33 in the post-test. The program's effectiveness was calculated at 60.4%, placing it in the "quite effective" category. This indicates that the counseling successfully improved participants' understanding and ability to apply written communication ethics in their daily lives.
