Abstract

Government initiatives to improve public services are critically necessary by taking into account the region’s entire potential. The regional government employs infrastructure development for public services by allocating funds in the form Regional Government Budget (RGB)) from the regional capital expenditure budgets. The infrastructure development allows the regional government to collect levies and taxes on to boost the Local Own-Source   Revenue This study aims to investigate the causality between regional capital expenditure and Local Own-Source Revenue in 11 regencies / cities in Maluku province for a 10-year period (2011-2020). A quantitative method using a Granger causality approach was employed. The data was collected using a purposive sampling method from the Statistics Indonesia of Maluku and analysis with Multiple Linear Regression Method. The results show that there is a unidirectional relationship between the Local Own-Source Revenue and regional capital expenditure. However, there is no causal relationship between regional capital expenditure and Regional Original Income. These results indicate that capital expenditure does not indicate the funding source for Local Own-Source. The implication is that Local Own-SOurce has not been able to meet capital expenditure needs. Therefore, the ability of regional governments to optimize regional income sources through extensification and intensification of potential economic sources reduces regional governments' dependence on central government finance.

Abstract

The activity of calibration/re-calibration has influenced consumer behavior in purchasing goods. The purpose of this study is to understand consumer behavior in determining purchases from sellers whose measuring, weighing, and related equipment (UTTP) have been calibrated/re-calibrated, and its implications on seller income. This research uses a qualitative method. The data used is primary data obtained by conducting interviews with 50 consumers and 50 sellers using incidental sampling techniques. Data and information obtained were analyzed qualitatively through descriptive analysis and narrative. The research results indicate that consumers tend to choose sellers whose UTTP equipment has been calibrated/re-calibrated, except in situations of necessity, such as indebtedness or hurry. This has an impact on increasing seller income than before calibration/re-calibration.

Abstract

Women are often viewed solely as domestic workers responsible for taking care of household needs and requirements. Yet, women have the opportunity to find employment and earn income, thus ensuring the sustainability of household livelihoods. In a microeconomic context, income inequality exists between women and men in various countries, both developing and developed. This income inequality can be addressed by optimizing the local potential of each region through MSMEs. This reality is further complicated when faced with the geographical location of archipelagic regions that possess unique natural resource potential for development, yet many residents live below the poverty line. The solution to empowering women through MSMEs based on local potential involves fostering awareness of women's potential, strategies for overcoming inhibiting stereotypes, strategies for overcoming psychological barriers, and empowering women to run their businesses.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence Regional Fiscal Capacity (KFD) in Ambon City. The study used secondary time series data for 10 years (2014–2023) in Ambon City. The analysis method used was Multiple Linear Regression with the dependent variable (Y) being the Fiscal Capacity Index, and the independent variables being Regional Original Income (PAD) (X1), Economic Growth Rate (X2), and Population (X3). Key Results: The results of the regression analysis showed that the independent variables PAD (X1), Economic Growth Rate (X2), and Population (X3) did not have a significant effect on the Regional Fiscal Capacity of Ambon City. Implications/ConsequencesAruan:TeamThis study provides an empirical contribution because it differs from general assumptions and previous research (state of the art), which often shows a positive relationship. These results highlight a unique problem or phenomenon in Ambon City, where the theoretically common factors driving fiscal capacity (PAD, economic growth, population) are not working effectively.
