Abstract

This study aims to analyze short stories using a structural analysis approach, which highlights intrinsic elements such as theme, characters, characterization and setting that play a role in building the meaning of the story. This short story tells the phenomenon of the appearance of “Hantu Mbah Darmo” in a Javanese village, which creates shared fear and various speculations in society. The analysis shows that the main theme of this story is collective fear that arises due to belief in myths and mystical things. The characters are depicted facing a dilemma between traditional beliefs and rational thinking, which reflects the dynamics of the community's culture. The traditional Javanese village setting strengthens the atmosphere of the story. The use of local languages adds depth to the cultural values in the narrative. This study concludes that “Hantu Mbah Darmo” not only raises stories about the mystical world, but also describes the socio-cultural dynamics of society that are still strongly connected to tradition. This structural approach provides an understanding of how literature reflects the social, cultural, and collective psychological realities of society.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) by students of Muhammadiyah University of Bone has implemented a socialization program regarding the Three Great Sins of Education (bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance) which aims to build children's character from an early age. This activity was held at SD Negeri 248 Gareccing, Gareccing Village, Tonra District, and involved around 60 students from grades 1 to 6. The method used was an interactive and educational approach adapted to the children's age, such as through stories, games, and group discussions to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand language. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from the students, who actively participated and demonstrated an initial understanding of the importance of mutual respect, daring to say 'no' to unsafe touch, and celebrating differences. This socialization is an important first step in instilling positive character values and creating a safe and inclusive school environment for children in rural areas.

Abstract

– We reported our study the electronic structure of graphene in bulk structure and graphene quantum dot (GQD) by density functional theory (DFT) by using in quantum espresso (QE) package. In order simulate the realistic shape of GQD, we set vacuum layer to avoid interaction between quantum dot in the periodic structure in crystal. We examined various shape of quantum dot namely triangular, Hexagon, parallelogram. The band gap is tunable by its shape which open wide application of GQD. We showed that we can tuning the electronic structure of graphene by tuning its structure. In bulk structure, graphene is zero-gap semiconductor. On the other hand, the results on GQD showed the discrete energy level and different shapes of GQD have different energy level and band gap.
